Violent clashes ongoing throughout Occupied Jerusalem

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

Violent clashes were still ongoing between Israeli occupation forces (IOF) and angry protesters in different neighborhoods of occupied Jerusalem. The clashes broke out late yesterday and lasted till dawn Saturday.

Israeli occupation forces heavily fired rubber bullets and smoke bombs at the protesters in Saadia, Bab al-Hatta, and Nasara neighborhoods in the Old City. 

Jerusalemite youths in their turn threw fireworks towards IOF soldiers during the confrontations.

Local sources said that dozens of people suffered breathing difficulties after inhaling tear gas fired by IOF soldiers inside their homes.

A number of neighborhoods witnessed a complete power outage, the sources added.

Similar clashes were reported in Ram town, to the north of the occupied city. Nine youths suffered rubber bullet injuries, while dozens suffered breathing problems after inhaling tear gas during the clashes.

The protesters closed the entrance to the town with burning tires and garbage containers and started throwing stones and empty bottles at the IOF soldiers.

Live and rubber-coated metal bullets were heavily fired by Israeli forces at the demonstrators and the passing-by vehicles.

Occupied Jerusalem has been witnessing fierce clashes over the past few days as the IOF imposed tight restrictions on Palestinian worshipers' access into al-Aqsa Mosque. Tensions flared up in the city after Israeli special forces killed in cold blood a Palestinian man suspected of attempting to kill an extremist Jewish rabbi.

Young Man Shot by Israeli Navy in Northern Gaza

The Israeli occupation forces navy opened fire on Wednesday morning, against Palestinian fishermen, and shot a young man off Beit Lahia shores, in the northern Gaza Strip.

According to Al Ray correspondence, he sustained moderate injuries after being shot in the thigh and transferred to al-Shefa hospital.

The Israeli navy has attacked Gaza fishermen several times since the Gaza ceasefire took effect, although the terms of the truce deal provide Israel stop its attacks and expand the fishing zone.

By mid-September, some 26 Israeli violations of the ceasefire had been documented.

Israeli occupation forces Invade Various Towns Near Jenin

Dozens of Israeli occupation forces jeeps invaded, on Saturday at dawn, a number of towns south of the northern West bank city of Jenin, installed roadblocks, and broke into a number of homes and lands before searching them.

Media sources in Jenin said the soldiers invaded the towns of Ya’bad and Wadi Da’ouq, stopped and searched dozens of cars and interrogated the residents while inspecting their ID cards.

The soldiers also conducted military searched in the two towns.

Soldiers also invaded Ya’bad town after installing a roadblock on its main entrance, and conducted searched in the al-Malloul neighborhood.

A number of military vehicles also invaded Marka town, and searched a number of farmlands and various groves.

Dozens of soldiers were also deployed in Wadi Da’ouq area, and ambushed several Palestinians in olive orchards; no arrests were reported.

Israeli occupation forces Invade Bethlehem

Israeli occupation forces invaded, on Saturday at dawn, several communities in the Bethlehem district in the occupied West Bank, searched homes, and handed four Palestinians military orders for interrogation.

Local sources said the soldiers invaded Shawawra village, east of Bethlehem, and handed Mo’tasem Amjad Abu Ramees, 18, and Amjad Odah Abu Ramees, military orders for interrogation in the Etzion military base.

Soldiers also invaded Mrah Rabah village, south of Bethlehem, and handed similar orders to Walid Mousa Sheikh, 38, and Mousa Reef Sheikh, 28.

Also on Saturday, soldiers invaded various Palestinian towns in the northern West Bank district of Jenin, installed roadblocks, and searched several homes and farmlands.

Four Palestinians Injured Near Jerusalem

Palestinian medical sources have reported, on Friday evening, that four Palestinians were wounded by Israeli occupation forces fire near the Qalandia terminal, north of occupied Jerusalem.

The injuries took place during clashes between Israeli soldiers and Palestinian youths who hurled stones and empty bottles while the army fired dozens of rounds of live ammunition, rubber-coated metal bullets and gas bombs.

One of the wounded Palestinians, 14 years of age, was shot by a live round in his leg, while a 17-year-old Palestinian was shot by a live round in his abdomen, and was instantly moved to surgery.

A third Palestinian, 23 years of age, was shot by a rubber-coated metal bullet in one of his eyes, and another Palestinian, 20, was shot by rounds of live ammunition in both of his legs.

Hebron Bedouin Structures Demolished

Israeli occupation forces demolished a total of four structures in the Bedouin village of Umm al-Daraj, and, in addition to a traditional oven in Umm al-Khair, reported Operation Dove on Wednesday.

Many women and men of Umm al-Khair were reportedly assaulted by Israeli soldiers and border police while they tried to peacefully stop the demolition of their property.

Early Wednesday morning, Israeli military forces broke into Umm al-Daraj with two bulldozers. A toilet, a shelter for the sheep, a cave used as home and a tinplated house which housed eight people were destroyed.

Two hours later, Israeli forces arrived at Umm al-Khair village and declared it a closed military area for internationals and Israeli civilians, according to WAFA's report. They pushed away the international volunteers who arrived to monitor any human rights violations, threatening them with arrest.

Accompanied by Israeli army and border police, a bulldozer broke into the village, damaging a fence and an olive tree, activists reported.

Umm al-Khair residents gathered in front of their traditional oven and tried to peacefully prevent the demolition, but Israeli soldiers and police attacked them, violently pushing away the women and shoving down a boy. The oven was later reported destroyed without any demolition order.

On October 28, with the inhabitants of Umm al-Khair, the oven was rebuilt by the South Hebron Hills Popular Committee and for the second time, by Palestinians before noon.

Umm al-Khair is a Bedouin locale in Area C, under Israeli civil and military administration. It is located near the Israeli settlement of ‘Karmel’, WAFA reports. The settlement was illegally established during the beginning of the 1980s and expanded in the recent years, most significantly in 2013.

A total of 508 Palestinian Bedouins are said to live in Umm al-Khair. The area and its residents are regularly targeted by Israeli soldiers in order to take over the land and displace its people.

Furthermore, the people of Umm al-Khair routinely experience harassment from Israeli settlers and army, the latest of which on October 28, when an Israeli army force and staff from the Israeli Civil Administration, accompanied by heavy machinery, broke into the village and demolished seven homes.

Palestinians from the South Hebron Hills use non-violent resistance to seek justice and defend human rights.

Six Palestinians Kidnapped In Jerusalem, West Bank

Israeli occupation forces kidnapped, on Thursday evening and on Friday at dawn, at least six Palestinians in different parts of the occupied West Bank, and occupied Jerusalem. One of the kidnapped is the head of the Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Silwan.

Local sources in Zababda town, south of the northern West Bank city of Jenin, has reported that the soldiers kidnapped one Palestinian and searched several other homes.

The sources said the soldiers kidnapped Aysar Ibrahim Turkman, 30, after storming and ransacking his home, and several nearby homes, and took him to an unknown destination.

Several soldiers also surrounded the home of former political prisoner Ahmad Sharqawi, and interrogated him while searching and ransacking his property.

They also conducted searches in different parts of the town.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Silwan, in occupied Jerusalem, has reported that the soldiers kidnapped the center’s head Jawad Siyam, his nephew Yazan Siyam, and two other Palestinians identified as Mahmoud Gheith and Montaser Faraj.

The Center said the kidnapped were moved to the al-Maskobiyya interrogation center in West Jerusalem.

On Thursday at night, soldiers invaded the Sawahra ash-Sharqiyya town, east of Jerusalem, and kidnapped a young man.

Israeli sources said the soldiers searched the house of the kidnapped Palestinian, and allegedly located two Kalashnikov rifles and a pistol.

On Thursday evening, clashes took place between dozens of Palestinian youths and Israeli soldiers invading the ‘Aida refugee camp, north of the West Bank city of Bethlehem.

Local youths clashed with the soldiers and hurled stones them and their military tower of the Annexation Wall, while the army fired gas bombs, concussion grenades, and rubber-coated metal bullets.
