Israeli Occupation Apartheid Regime Continues Violations of Palestinian Human Rights, with More Abductions, Attacks, Raids, and Gaza Siege

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of David, Solomon, and Solomon's son).

 After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

Israeli Occupation Troops Abduct 14 Palestinians in Pre-Dawn Raids

Israeli occupation forces abducted 14 Palestinians before dawn Tuesday in raids of various parts of the West Bank.

In Nablus, Israeli troops abducted 10 Palestinians in the Nablus District.  According to local source Wafa News Agency, Israeli troops invaded Beit Janoub, south of Nablus, and abducted eight youth, after raiding and searching the homes of their families.

The youth were identified as: Munawar Abdel Rahman Bani Shamsa, the secretary of the Fatah movement in the area of ​​the Martyrs of Beita, Raed Abdel Rahim Dawoud, and Ibrahim Mahmoud Dawood, Hussein Arsan Dawood, Hussein Mahmoud Dawood, Jihad Fayez Hamayel, Hamdan Fayez Hamayel and Saif Dhaif Allah Hamayel .

The sources added that the Israeli forces stormed the village of Awarta in the south, and abducted the released captive and  researcher, Abd al-Salam Awwad. They also raided the village of Osreen and abducted the freed prisoner Samer Hamdi Muflih, after raiding and searching their homes .

In addition, Israeli occupation soldiers abducted the freed prisoner Ali Shawahneh (40 years), after storming his house and searching it , in the Qalqilia District.

It is noteworthy that Shawa’a spent fourteen years in occupation prisons.

Earlier that same night, Israeli forces abducted a young man from Al-Tirah neighborhood in Ramallah.

According to eyewitnesses, settlers stormed the neighborhood and conducted prayers, while a squadron of Israeli soldiers was deployed  to protect them, This led to the outbreak of confrontations during which the occupation forces abducted the young Muhammad Burhan.

41 Palestinian Children Arrested by Israeli Occupation Forces in February

Israeli occupation regime, in February, arrested a total of 41 Palestinian children, imprisoning 20 of them in Ofer prison, according to the Committee of Prisoners and Former Prisoners.

The Committee explained that, of the children arrested last month;

20 were kidnapped from their homes, 6 from the streets, 1 for not having permission, 6 were summoned for interrogation and then arrested, and 8 were arrested at military checkpoints.

The committee said that two of the children arrested in February were brutally beaten during their arrests and interrogations, while many others were forced to pay heavy fines, estimated at 41,000 Shekels (over $11,000).

Israeli Occupation Forces Fire Live Rounds and Flares into Besieged Gaza Strip

Flares lit up the sky over the eastern border area of Gaza City, on Sunday evening, as the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) intensively fired live rounds at agricultural plots of land, Days of Palestine reported.

According to local sources, the IOF opened fire at cultivated lands east of Gaza City, for no apparent reason, in addition to firing flares that lit up the night sky over the area.

A Palestinian observation point in the east of al-Maghazi refugee camp (central Gaza) also came under gunfire attack, with no reported casualties.

In Pre-Dawn Raids, Israeli Occupation Troops Abduct 12 Palestinians

The Israeli occupation forces launched pre-dawn raids Monday morning in various parts of the West Bank, abducting 12 Palestinians, including two previously-released prisoners.

In Hebron, Israeli occupation forces abducted: Abdel Karim Khaled Abu Sal (23 years), Amr Khaled Al-Badawi, Majid Tayseer Al-Titi (23 years), and Ahmed Ezzat Al-Sabatin, all from Al-Arroub camp north of Hebron.

In the same context, the Israeli forces searched several houses in the Hebron governorate and ransacked their contents. The owners of the homes were identified as Khaled Abu Sal and Atta Al-Badawi, Nihad Mutir Al-Awawdeh, Abdel-Halim Al-Talahmeh, and Wasfi Abu Taha.

In Tulkarem, Israeli occupation troops abducted four Palestinians: Munjid Radwan, Khaled Ahmed Hussein Abed Rabbo (20 years) from Tulkarem camp, as well as the recently-released prisoners Yahya Jamal Sway from the eastern neighborhood of Tulkarem, and Iyad Nasser (40 years) from the Shweikeh suburb of the north of the city.

In Ramallah, the Israeli military abducted three Palestinians: Hassan Tayseer Hammad, Saleh Abdullah from the town of Silwad, and Hadi Abdullah from the village of Beitin.

In Jenin, Israeli occupation troops abducted the teenager Mohammad Jamal Abu Zaid Al-Hourani, after they raided his family’s home in the Al-Marah neighborhood of the city.

Israeli occupation troops conduct pre-dawn raids on a daily basis, between 3 and 5 am, during which time they invade towns across the West Bank and terrorize their residents, forcing them awake and dragging them from their homes while they are sleeping.

Palestinians Suffer Tear-Gas Inhalation During Israeli Occupation Forces Incursions in West Bank

Dozens of Palestinians suffocated, on Saturday, on tear-gas fired at them by Israeli forces during confrontations that erupted in al-‘Isawiya area of occupied Jerusalem, according to local sources.

Sources told Palestinian WAFA News Agency that Israeli occupation forces stormed several neighborhoods in al-‘Isawiya and assaulted residents, firing concussion grenades, and tear-gas canisters at Palestinian residents and homes, causing dozens of cases of toxic tear-gas inhalation.

In related news, Israeli occupation forces fired tear-gas canisters and concussion grenades at Palestinian youths, on Sunday, in the town of Taqou’, southeast of the southern occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem, a local activist reported.

Youth activist, Mustafa al-Badan, told WAFA reporter that confrontations flared up between Palestinian youths and Israeli occupation forces at the western entrance to the town of Taqou’, which resulted in many of the youths to suffer the toxic effects of tear-gas, all of whom were treated at the scene.

In addition, dozens of Palestinians suffocated, on Sunday, due to tear-gas inhalation, in the town of Qabatia, south of Jenin, northern occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

Sources told WAFA that clashes broke out during an Israeli military incursion into the town, during which soldiers fired a barrage of tear-gas canisters and stun grenades at residents, causing many cases of inhalation injury.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers, Settlers Storm Village in Nablus, One Palestinian Arrested

Illegal Israeli settlers and Israeli occupation soldiers, on Saturday, stormed the village of Madama in the northern occupied West Bank city of Nablus, Quds News Network (QNN) reports.

The indigenous Palestinians confronted the illegal Israeli settlers, to which Israeli forces responded by firing tear-gas canisters, arresting one Palestinian young man, and causing several cases of inhalation injuries among the Palestinians resisting the invasion.

Locals were reportedly successful in their efforts to force the illegal colonists to withdraw.

Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention states that the occupying power [Israel] is prohibited from transferring its own population on to the land in which it occupies [Palestine].

Unemployment Among Gaza Women Hits Record High of 90%

In new remarks by the Gaza-based head of the Popular Committee for Breaking the Israel-imposed Blockade of Gaza, Dr. Jamal Alkhodary said that Palestinian women in Gaza have been badly affected by the Israeli blockade, in terms of labor.

The statement, released Saturday by Alkhudary to local media outlets, suggested that the rate of unemployment among Gaza women, has reached an unprecedented level; reaching as high as 90% .

Alkhudary maintained that women constitute 49 percent of the overall Palestinian population in both the coastal territory of Gaza and the West Bank, asserting that women play key roles in development of the Palestinian society, as well as in the struggle for freedom and equality.

Also, he pointed out that under the Israeli blockade of Gaza, Gaza-based women have suffered the brunt of Israel’s restrictions and frequent deadly attacks on the territory, as women have lost beloved ones such as children, husbands, brothers or parents.

According to Alkhudary, supporting female labor in the Gaza Strip, has increasingly become vital, as many thousands of women have lost sources of income, due to the Israel-forced absent of family members.

He called on all relevant local and international organizations that are concerned with women development, to promptly provide support and assistance to Palestinian women in Gaza, by creating some new operation programs that could alleviate the suffering of those women.

The man’s statements came on the eve of International Women’s Day March 8.

Over the past 13 years, Israel has been enforcing a blockade on the Gaza Strip, with a great deal of restrictions on the coastal enclave. A part of Israeli measures against Gaza has been numerous military attacks that have claimed the lives of thousands of residents, including women, men and children.

The Israeli occupation apartheid regime alleges that its siege has been imposed for security reasons,  after the Islamist Hamas party was elected in 2006 and formed a government in the tiny coastal territory following an internal fight with the Fatah party of western-backed Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas.

15-Year Old Boy Hit by Israeli Occupation Forces Rubber Bullet While in School

In the al-Isawiyya area of Jerusalem on Tuesday, Israeli occupation forces fired a rubber-coated steel bullet into a schoolyard, injuring 15-year-old student Mohammad Awni Atiya in his hand.

The incident took place at the “Boys Secondary School”, in the village of Al-‘Isawiya.

The Silwan Information Center reported that the Israeli Special Forces stormed Al-Madares Street in the village, in conjunction with the school’s break between the classes.

While students were buying from the vendors through the main school gate as usual, the soldiers got off their vehicle and walked parallel to the main gate.

Abu Al-Hummos added that the occupation forces attacked the school gates and pointed their weapons towards the students through the gates’ separators and fired rubber bullets without regard for the crowded courtyards, where the student Atiya was injured; he was immediately transferred for treatment.

The parents’ committee in al-‘Isawiya denounced the disregard for the lives of students and the failure to provide them with a safe environment even when they are inside their schools, not to mention the storming and deployment in Al-Madares Street in the morning and afternoon time.

The committee said: “The school yard was full of students, and the occupation’s claim that boys were throwing stones at the forces passing by in the area does not give them the justification for endangering the lives of all students,” noting that about 300 students study in the high school aged between 15-18 years.

The committee indicated that the 8-year old boy Malik Wael Issa was injured after the end of his school day while he was on his way to his home in the village last month, which led to the loss of his eye. The forces also raided the same school last November, and assaulted the administrative and educational staff and arrested a student, not to mention the daily provocations of students while going to their schools or returning to their homes.

Israeli Occupation Troops Attack Protest in Kufur Qaddoum, Injuring Two Palestinians

Two young men were wounded by rubber-coated metal bullets, while dozens more suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation, when Israeli forces invaded Kufur Qaddoum village and began assaulting non-violent demonstrators.

Each week, the townspeople of Kufur Qaddoum hold a march and protest to challenge the Israeli closure of their village’s main road for the past sixteen years. They also protest against the illegal Israeli settlements constructed on land confiscated by the Israeli military from the village.

The coordinator of the Popular Resistance in Kufur Qaddoum, Murad Shtaiwi, told reporters with the Wafa News Agency that the occupation forces suppressed the march by using gas bombs and rubber-coated metal bullets, which led to the injury of a young man with a metal bullet in the face, and another in his hand.

The two were treated by medics in the field, while dozens more were treated for the effects of tear gas inhalation.

The march began after Friday prayers with the participation of hundreds of townspeople, who chanted national slogans calling for an escalation of popular resistance and rejecting the so-called “deal of the century” drafted by Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushn.er

PCHR: On International Women’s Day – Renewed Calls for Justice, Protection and Equality for Palestinian Women

The 8th of March marks International Women’s Day (IWD) which was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1977. This day symbolizes women’s ongoing fight and struggle for their rights, justice and equality and to ensure women exercise their rights, codified in all international laws and standards.

This year IWD comes while Palestinian women still suffer unbearable conditions in light of the deteriorating human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) on the one hand and the ongoing Palestinian division on the other hand along with the remarkably increased violence against women by the society.

In terms of Israeli occupation forces (IOF’s) violations in 2019, IOF carried out a military escalation against the Gaza Strip, killing 3 women and wounding 8 others, from 12 to 14 November 2019. Moreover, IOF committed grave violations against the participants in the Great March of Return (GMR) protests, resulting in the killing of 3 women and the injury of 477 others. Women have paid a heavy price due to these violations, either when they were directly wounded or when their children and husbands were killed or wounded, making their lives more difficult and complex.

In the West Bank, women are subject to increased violations, compared to those experienced by women in the Gaza Strip, including house invasions, arrest campaigns, as there are around 42 female prisoners in Damon prisons in Israel due to the daily arrests in January 2020, the number of women arrested by the IOF reached 16. Moreover, IOF impose severe restrictions on freedom of movement due to the temporary and permanent checkpoints as well as settlers’ attacks against civilians with the IOF support.

On the internal Palestinian level, the Palestinian division is considered one of the reasons behind the suffering of Palestinian women, through dissolving the Palestinian Legislative Council which has obstructed adopting of laws that are more fair and equitable for women.

2019 and the beginning of 2020 witnessed an increase in murders against women of various backgrounds. In 2019, 14 women were murdered: 8 in the West Bank and 6 in the Gaza Strip, 3 grounds of the so-called “family honor”. Also in February 2020, a 25-year-old woman died upon arrival to al-Shifa Hospital; after examination by the forensic department that declared it was due to strangulation.

Palestinian women continue to suffer from gender-based violence, which has been exacerbated due to the overall deterioration in the economic and social living conditions, particularity in the Gaza Strip.

PCHR congratulates Palestinian women on International Women’s Day and reiterates its support for women everywhere, especially those enduring exceptional circumstances under the Israeli occupation, the Palestinian internal division and a patriarchal society that discriminates between men and women.

PCHR asserts the importance of providing protection for Palestinian women and girls, and:

1. Emphasizes that it is the responsibility of the international community according to its contractual obligations to force the Israeli occupation to lift the closure on the Gaza Strip, respect human rights and abide by the principles of international humanitarian law and international human rights law towards the Palestinian people as a people under occupation.

2. Calls upon the Human Rights Council and the contracting bodies to international treaties, especially CEDAW to work towards investigating the grave and systematic Israeli violations of women’s rights.

3. The PA must take the necessary measures to put an end to community violence, to hold perpetrators of crimes against women accountable and to adopt protection against family violence law.

4. The PA must fulfil its international obligations following Palestine’s accession to CEDAW.

5. Palestinian political factions and civil society organizations should impose appropriate policies to ensure the integration of Palestinian women into their organizations and in the private and public institutions in order to achieve support and reinforcement of their struggle.
