Israeli Occupation Soldiers Continue Violations of Palestinian Human Rights, House Demolition, Attacks and Abductions of Civilians

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of David, Solomon, and Solomon's son).

 After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

3 Palestinians injured in an attack by illegal Israeli settlers

Three Palestinian citizens were injured on Sunday after being attacked by illegal Israeli settlers near Nabi Saleh village, north of Ramallah City.

Activist Belal al-Tamimi said that Israeli settlers from Halamish settlement, which is built on privately-owned Palestinian lands, attacked a number of Palestinian citizens and hurled rocks at them injuring three.

Al-Tamimi said that an Israeli army force stormed the area to protect the settlers after the attack.

He added that the land on which the attack took place is located near a settler road, and the Israeli authorities have been attempting to seize it lately.

Dozens of Israeli settlers storm al-Aqsa Mosque Short url Related

Hordes of Israeli settlers on Sunday morning broke into al-Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem under heavy police guard.

Jerusalem's Islamic Awqaf Department said that 84 Jewish settlers defiled al-Aqsa Mosque while accompanied by a large police force.

It added that the settlers roamed the holy mosque while being given presentations on the alleged "Temple Mount" and tried to perform provocative rituals near the Muslim prayer area of Bab al-Rahma.  

Silwan Youth Severely Beaten by Israeli Occupation Police

A Palestinian minor from the occupied East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan was transferred to hospital after he was severely beaten by Israeli occupation police officers who invaded his family home to arrest him, local sources said.

A heavily armed police force reportedly stormed the family home of Jamal Ali al-Ghoul in Silwan and beating him, causing bruises throughout his body. He was transferred to hospital for the necessary medical treatment, however the youth was later brought to court handcuffed with chains on his ankles.

Israeli FOccupation orces Storm Jerusalem and Jenin, 11 Palestinians Detained

Israeli occupation forces, Saturday night, detained at least 11 Palestinians during incursions, across occupied East Jerusalem and the northern West Bank district of Jenin, WAFA quoted local sources.

Israeli police stormed the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Al-Issawiya and the Shufat refugee camp, northeast of the city, and detained eight Palestinians after invading and searching their homes.

In Jenin district, occupation forces stormed the town of Qabatiya and detained three Palestinians after invading and searching their homes.

Israeli forces raid Palestinian communities across the occupied West Bank, in middle of the night, in order to catch Palestinians off guard.

More than 5,500 Palestinian prisoners are incarcerated in Israeli jails for resisting the Israeli occupation.

Israeli Occupation Forces Suppress Palestinian Prisoners in Ofer Prison

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, on Sunday, said that tension prevailed in Israel’s Ofer prison after “Metzada” repression unit broke into section 20, which contains imprisoned children, to transfer leading activists.

The Club said that the Israeli occupation prison system informed the prisoners that the transfer is due to a Shabak order and that it would be executed, without providing any further details.

Metzada soldiers assaulted prisoners after breaking into their cells in sections 19 and 20, which contain detained Palestinian children.

Ofer prison witnessed one of the toughest confrontations with IPS last month, when Israeli forces repressed prisoners causing several injuries, after a mass hunger strike.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Abduct Thirteen Palestinians In West Bank

Israeli occupation soldiers abducted, Monday, at least thirteen Palestinians, including a child and a father along with his son, mainly from their homes in several parts of the occupied West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) has confirmed.

The PPS said the soldiers abducted two young men, who remained unidentified at the time of this report, while walking on Sultan Suleiman Street, near Bab al-‘Amoud and Bab as-Sahera gates of the Old City, after repeatedly beating and clubbing them.

In Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank, the soldiers invaded and searched many homes in the al-‘Arroub refugee camp, north of the city, and abducted five Palestinians, including one child.

The PPS office in Hebron said the abducted Palestinians have been identified as Ehab Kamal Janazra, Ehab Kamal Jawabra, Ahmad Rafat al-Badawi, Anan Sharif, and the child Obeida Akram Jawabra, 15, and added that the soldiers summoned Mohammad Nasser Badawi, Ali Hasan Sharif, Obai Jawabra and Hani Ja’ara, for interrogation.

Furthermore, the soldiers installed military roadblocks at the entrances of Sa’ir and Halhoul towns, in addition to Hebron’s northern road, before stopping and searching dozens of cars, and interrogated the Palestinians while inspecting their ID cards.

In Tulkarem, in northern West Bank, the soldiers also searched homes and abducted Essam al-‘Aloul along with his son Laith, after invading and ransacking their homes in Nur Shams refugee camp, east of the city.

In Bethlehem, south of occupied Jerusalem, the soldiers invaded and searched homes in Teqoua’ town, southeast of the city, and abducted Mo’men Rateb al-‘Amour, 18, and Mahmoud Ali al-‘Amour, 19.

Israeli Occupation Forces Demolish Palestinian Home South of Bethlehem

Israeli occupation forces demolished a house under construction on Sunday in the village of Wad Rahal, south of Bethlehem.

The head of the Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in Bethlehem, Hassan Bureijia, told the Wafa News Agency that the Israeli occupation forces demolished a house under construction that was 79 square meters.

The building belonged to Jihad Hussein al-Fagouri.

The Israeli authorities gave as their reason that the house was built “without authorization” — but Israeli authorities have refused to give authorization for Palestinian landowners to construct buildings on their own properties since 1967.

This comes just a week after nearly 200 Palestinians lost their homes in a massive demolition of several buildings, including a nine-story high apartment building, in Wadi al-Hummus near Jerusalem.

According to the Israeli Committee Against Home Demolitions, “Since 1967 when the Occupation began in East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza, nearly 50,000 Palestinian homes and structures have been demolished – displacing hundreds of thousands of Palestinians and affecting the livelihoods of thousands of others.

“Combine this with the 600 Palestinian villages that were demolished when the state of Israel was established (www.zochrot.org) creating 750,000 Palestinian refugees (3/4 of the population), and its ongoing demolition policy within the state of Israel itself, the figure exceeds more than 100,000 Palestinian homes demolished since 1948.

“This is a conservative figure because multiple level homes and apartment blocks count as one unit and it does not include the number of self-demolitions which is a growing phenomenon done because Israel issues a bill for the demolitions which many Palestinians cannot afford to pay.

“The policy of house demolitions uses administration, planning, zoning and the law for overt political purposes: to quietly transfer Palestinians out of the country or, alternatively, to confine them to small enclaves, thereby leaving the land (their land) free for Israeli settlement and annexation.

“Most people think that Palestinians houses are demolished because their inhabitants performed some terrorist acts. This is not the case. In 99% of the cases the residents had absolutely nothing to do with security offenses: they neither committed illegal acts nor were even accused of doing so. (It should be noted, however, that demolishing homes belonging to families of terrorists is a form of collective punishment against innocent people that itself constitutes a war crime.)

Ministry of Foreign Affairs : ‘Significant Escalation’ of Demolitions

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates released a statement, concluding that the month of July witnessed a significant escalation of Israeli demolitions of Palestinian houses and facilities.

According to surveys conducted by local, Israeli, foreign research centers, and UN reports, 43 water wells, houses, and apartments were destroyed, displacing hundreds of Palestinians.

The ministry condemned, in the strongest terms, the escalation of Israeli demolitions, and thus, the displacement of Palestinians. Israeli is in violation of international treaties that prohibit demolitions in occupied territories under any pretext.

As per the Oslo Accord, Area A includes the main Palestinian population centers under the PA’s administrative and security control and makes up 18% of the West Bank. Area B is under the PA’s administrative control and Israel’s security control and makes up 21% of the West Bank. Area C, which makes up 61% of the West Bank, is under full Israeli administrative and security control.

The ministry called on the UN Security Council to break its silence and take the necessary measures, as stipulated in relevant international laws, in order to deter the occupying power from its colonial plans for the Palestinian territories.

Israeli Occupation Navy Attacks Palestinian Fishermen, Abducts One, Injured Another

The Israeli occupation navy on Tuesday morning attacked a number of Palestinian fishing boats off the coast of Gaza, firing water cannon at close range, causing damage to several boats. They also abducted one fisherman and took him into custody, and injured another fisherman.

The attacks took place near Sheikh Ejleen area, west of Gaza city. A fisherman, a teenage boy identified as Abdullah Mifleh Abu Ryala, fainted after the soldiers constantly sprayed him with water cannons.

The fishermen in question were within the prescribed Israeli limit of six nautical miles off the coast of Gaza when they were attacked, according to the WAFA News Agency.

The Palestinian who was abducted was identified as Awad Tareq Bakr.

The Israeli attacks damaged two generators in a fishing boat owned by Falah Mohammad Abu Ryala, especially after they constantly sprayed the vessel with water cannons.

Damage was also reported to a boat owned by Mohsin Khalil Abu Ryala, who lost twelve pieces of his vessel, including important parts, such as peddles, screws and other controls.

The Israeli naval officers who abducted the fisherman took him to an undisclosed location and confiscated his boat, according to other local fishermen.

Metal Gate Erected at Junction of Two Bethlehem-area Towns

Israeli occupation forces installed a metal gate at the entrance connecting the town of Jabaa’, to the southwest of Bethlehem, and the town of Surif, to the north of Bethlehem, in the southern occupied West Bank, said security sources.

Sources told WAFA correspondence that Israeli forces removed the earth mounds that had been closing the entrance for years and installed a metal gate there, further restricting movement, in violation of international law.

Palestine’s UN Delegation Criticizes Secretary-General for Not Including Israel on ‘List of Shame’

To the dismay of Palestine’s delegation to the United Nations, Secretary-General António Guterres did not include Israel in his new “list of shame”, which includes states committing grave violations against children, despite the figures and statistics in the report about serious violation of rights of children in Palestine, said Riyad Mansour, Palestine’s permanent representative to the UN.

The UN Security Council held yesterday in New York an open debate on the annual UN report on situation of children in times of conflict, which Guterres released on Wednesday.

According to the report, the number of Palestinian children killed or injured reached its highest level in 2018 since 2014. It said 59 were killed in 2018, 56 of them by the Israelis army, nearly a four-fold increase over 2017. In the West Bank, Israeli forces injured 1,398 children in 2018, while in Gaza they injured 1,335 children. The Injuries included permanent disabilities and limb amputations.

It also said 203 children are held in Israeli prisons, most of them in administrative detention, without charge or trial. By the end of December 2018, 87 children were sentenced to serve time in Israeli prisons for resisting the occupation, said the report, and these children are subjected to harsh conditions of detention and ill-treatment.

“The UN secretary-general should include Israel in the ‘list of shame’ and add it to the countries that commit horrendous acts, especially against children,” said Mansour before the start of the session.

He said that by not including Israel on the list undercuts efforts to put an end to the criminal violations against children around the world and questions the credibility of the list while making it open for criticism and endangers the lives of Palestinian children due to the lack of any kind of accountability to Israel.

Gutierrez instructed his personal representative, Virginia Gamba, to visit the region and occupied Palestine to further investigate what came in the report regarding the injuries and maiming of Palestinian children.

The Palestinian delegation called on Guterres to take into account that the Israeli violations in Palestine were caused by the military occupation, which should be mentioned in the section on Palestine in the report, and to make sure that Israeli practices amount to collective punishment, particularly the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip since 2006.

They also said that since 2000, Israel, the occupying Power, had arrested 10,000 Palestinian children.

“We call on the international community to save an entire generation. The difficult circumstances, humiliation, panic and trauma caused by the detention of the Palestinian child are impeding society and aim at weakening it,” said the delegation.

It attributed Israel’s persistence in its inhuman practices to its enjoyment of international impunity, which protects it from sanctions and accountability.

Human Rights Watch has also criticized the UN secretary-general for not including Israel in the list.

“The UN secretary-general simply refuses to hold to account all warring parties that have inflicted tremendous suffering on children,” said Jo Becker, children’s rights advocacy director at Human Rights Watch. “By listing selected violators but not others, Secretary-General Guterres is ignoring the UN’s own evidence and undermining efforts to protect children in conflict.”

Guterres failed to list the Israeli army in the new report as responsible for grave violations against children, including killing and maiming, despite considerable evidence of violations by these parties, said HRW in a press release issued last week.

“Previous reports have also found the Israel Defense Forces responsible for killing and maiming Palestinian children, but the secretary-general has yet to include the Israeli forces in his list of abusers,” it said.
