Israeli Occupation Soldiers Attack Palestinians in Gaza from Across the Border, Injuring 122, Injuring and Abducting Scores in the West Bank

While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land.  After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Injure 122 Palestinians Inside Gaza by Firing at them from Across the Border

Israeli occupation soldiers attacked, Friday, the weekly Great Return March processions inside the eastern parts of the Gaza Strip, by firing at them from across the border, and injured 122 Palestinians, including 50 who were shot with live rounds, and three medics.

Thousands of Palestinians gathered along the eastern parts of the coastal region, hundreds of meters away from the perimeter fence.

The protesters marched carrying Palestinian flags and posters of Palestinians killed by Israeli army fire, while chanting against the ongoing illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine, its illegal colonies and polices, and the siege on the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza has confirmed that the medics provided treatment to 122 Palestinians, including fifty who were shot with live rounds, and three medics.

The Ministry added that dozens of wounded Palestinians were moved to a few hospitals, while the rest received treatment by field medics.

It is worth mentioning that the army placed more sand hills, across the perimeter fence in the eastern parts of the Gaza Strip, from the northern parts in Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia, in northern Gaza, in addition to the eastern part of Gaza city and the central region, all the way to the southern parts in Khan Younis and Rafah.

Israeli Occupation Forces Strike “Hamas Facilities” in Gaza

Israeli occupation government warplanes attacked, late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning, several areas in the northern and southern Gaza Strip causing damage but no injuries, according to WAFA correspondent.

It was reported that Israeli jets twice attacked a post on the Sheikh Ijjilin coast, east of Gaza City, causing fire and destruction of the site, as well homes in the area.

Another post near Gaza City was also attacked and destroyed.

Flares lit the skies in the south of the Gaza Strip near Khan Younis, before warplanes targeted the posts in the area.

The Israeli army claimed the airstrikes came after two projectiles were fired from Gaza into southern Israel, that fell in open areas, without causing any damage or human casualties.

Sirens were reportedly heard during the night in the Israeli towns bordering the Gaza Strip, causing panic among the citizens.

Israeli Occupation Forces Raid Villages West of Ramallah

Early Sunday morning, Israeli occupation forces invaded a number of villages west of Ramallah in the continued search for the person responsible for leaving an improvised explosive device that killed an Israeli teenager on Friday.

In addition to ransacking homes and businesses, the Israeli troops invaded commerical establishments with street-facing cameras and confiscated all footage from the cameras.

Local Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that Israeli troops stormed the villages of Ein Arik, Deir Bzeih, Ras Karkar, Ein Qinya and parts of Beitunia and confiscated camera recordings from businesses in those villages.

According to local eyewitnesses, Israeli forces set up a checkpoint between Beitunia and Ein Arik, where they stopped and checked the identity cards of every Palestinian.

They set up another checkpoint at the entrance to the village of Ras Karkar, west of Ramallah.

Illegal Israeli Settlers Attack Palestinian Cars Near Nablus

Several illegal Israeli colonialist settlers attacked, on Saturday evening, many Palestinian cars near the junction of Yitzhar colony, south of Nablus, in northern West Bank.

Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian Authority official who monitors Israel’s illegal colonialist activities in northern West Bank, said the colonists caused damage to several Palestinian cars.

Daghlas added that the colonists held a protest at the junction, after closing it, and attacked the Palestinian vehicles, in what they called “retaliation to the death of the Israeli teen, identified as Rena Shnerb, 17, who was killed by a roadside bomb, two days ago.

Eyewitnesses said the colonists attacked the Palestinian cars in front of Israeli soldiers who were just standing and watching, without attempting to intervene.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Abduct Several Palestinians Near Ramallah

Israeli occupation soldiers abducted, Saturday, several Palestinians near Ramallah, in central West Bank, as the military continues to search for the Palestinians who killed an Israeli teenage girl, 17, Friday, but could not confirm any relation between the detained Palestinians and the soldier.

The military said its forces, along with the Police and Internal Security agents, are ongoing with the search campaign in Ramallah, to detain any person responsible for the roadside bombs that killed Rena Shnerb, 17, and the injury of her father and brother.

It added that all abducted Palestinians have been moved to a few interrogation facilities, to be questioned by the Internal Security Services, and added that it could not confirm any connection between them and the death of the soldier.

In addition, the army said that Brigadier General Eran Niv, the commander of the military in the West Bank, held a session with senior Israeli security and military leaders to evaluate the situation and developments.

Palestinian Forced To Demolish His Home In Occupied Jerusalem

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Silwan (Silwanic) has reported that a Palestinian was forced by the Israeli occupation government to demolish his own home, Saturday, in Silwan town, in occupied East Jerusalem, to avoid the excessively high fines and fees imposed by the City Council.

Silwanic said the Palestinian, Mohammad al-Abbassi, had to demolish his home after the City Council decided to destroy the property “for being built without a permit.”

It added that the City Council informed al-Abbassi that he either demolish his home, or the city would demolish his property, impose very high fines and fees, in addition to billing him for the costs of using its workers and machines in the destruction of his property,

Last Wednesday, the soldiers demolished two Palestinian homes in Beit Hanina town, north of occupied East Jerusalem.

Israel’s policy of home demolitions is an act of collective punishment targeting entire families, in direct violation of International Law and various international and human rights agreements.

It is worth mentioning that, according to data from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Israeli soldiers have demolished or destroyed 265 structures, and displaced 355 Palestinians, since the beginning of this year, displacing 355 Palestinians, while the number of displaced Palestinians since the year 1967 have reached 49.4000.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Injure Many Palestinians Near Nablus

Several Israeli occupation army jeeps invaded, Friday, Sebastia town, north of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and injured many Palestinians.

Mohammad Azem, the mayor or Sebastia, said the soldiers invaded the town, and attacked many Palestinians, in addition to firing several gas bombs and concussion grenades at them and their homes.

Azem added that local medics provided treatment to dozens of Palestinians, who suffered the severe effects of teargas inhalation.

It is worth mentioning that the soldiers frequently invade Sebastia, and repeatedly accompany groups of illegal colonialist settlers, many of them armed, into the archeological site in the town, and prevent the Palestinians from entering it.

Less than two weeks ago, several armed illegal Israeli colonialist settlers, accompanied by soldiers, invaded the al-Mas’udiyya area, on Palestinian lands in Burqa village, northwest of Nablus, and conducted live fire training.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Abduct Four, Summon One, in Pre-Dawn Raids

Israeli occupation soldiers invaded several parts of the West Bank on Saturday before dawn and abducted several Palestinians who were asleep in their beds.

In the southern West Bank, Israeli forces abducted Samed Jihad Jahhara from Al-Aroub refugee camp north of Hebron.

In the central West Bank, Israeli forces abducted on Saturday at dawn two young men from Ein Arik village and a third from Ein Qiniya village west of Ramallah.

According to the Palestinian Wafa News Agency, the Israeli forces abducted Ribhi Abu al-Safa, and Mohammad Nayef Abu al-Safa, from the village of Ein Arik after raiding their homes and ransacking their property.

Another Palestinian, a student at Birzeit University and former political prisoner, was abducted from his house in Ein Qinya village, northwest of Ramallah.

It is noteworthy that the Israeli military maintained a closure of all roads west of Ramallah through Friday night, following the death of an Israeli settler and the wounding of two others from an improved explosive device near Deir Bzeih.

In addition, early Saturday morning, Israeli intelligence officers summoned Azzam al-Khatib, director general of the Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem, to come in for questioning.

The Islamic Endowments Department in Jerusalem said in a statement that the Israeli intelligence summoned the Director General of Islamic Endowments and Al Aqsa Mosque Affairs for investigation.

ISM Report : Death Is Only the Beginning of Suffering For Family In Ezariyya

Nassim Abu Roumi (14) was shot dead by the Israeli forces, after he attempted to stab an Israeli police officer

“My son was killed 5 days ago…all I want is to bury him. But they are keeping his body, they will not give him to us.”

Mokafih Abu Roumi spoke with ISM on Tuesday, August 20, about the death of his son, 14 year old Nassim Abu Roumi, and the harassment and collective punishment he and his family have received from Israeli authorities since.

On August 15, Nassim Abu Roumi (14) and Hammouda Khader Sheikh (14), attempted a knife attack on Israeli police blocking one of the entrances to the Al-Aqsa Mosque (Dome of the Rock). After trying to stab an Israeli police officer, Nassim was repeatedly shot and died at the scene; Hammouda was shot multiple times before being taken in custody. His current condition is unknown. One Israeli police officer was treated for “light wounds”. Video footage of the attack shows Nassim was initially shot in the leg, after which Israeli officers continued firing at him. Mokafir believes that his son was executed, as he no longer posed a threat to the police, stating that “They [the police] could have stopped him without killing him. These soldiers (police) are very well trained, they had…years of experience, they could control a little boy. They wanted to kill him.”

Immediately after Nassim’s attack, his father was arrested and held in a cell for 2.5 hours, after which he was interrogated by Shin Bet agents. He was forced to watch the video of Israeli police repeatedly firing bullets into his son, whilst surrounded by Israeli Occupation Forces demanding that he identify Nassim.

Mokafih describes Nassim as a “…friendly, honest child. He was popular at school and had many friends. He was in the 7th grade at [a branch of] the Al Aqsa school in Ezariyya, he had no social or psychological problems. He liked football and Internet.” He remembers his son being deeply angered by the brutality of the IOF towards Palestinian worshipers at the Al Aqsa Mosque on the first day of Eid, one of the most important Muslim festivals of the year. In particular, the images of women and children being violently assaulted deeply affected him. His father also maintains that his son acted alone, and the attack was not sanctioned or planned by any political party or movement.

On August 11th, the IOF used tear gas, rubber coated steel bullets and flash grenades to clear tens of thousands of Palestinian Muslims from the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, to allow 1,300 Jews into the compound. 61 Palestinians were injured, 15 of which had to be hospitalized.

4 days later, at 4:00PM in the afternoon, Nassim left the house without telling anyone where he was going. Later that night, Mokafih received word that his son was dead.

Israeli intelligence service Shin Bet continues to hold the body of Mokafih’s son. Mokafih’s requests for his son’s body have been repeatedly rejected on the grounds that the police investigation into the cause of death is still ongoing, even as footage of police shooting Nassim is widely shown in international media and online. Police are also demanding Mokafih agree to preconditions regarding the funeral before returning his son’s body.

In December 2017, Israel’s High Court of Justice ruled that the bodies of alleged suspects cannot be held by the Israeli state, but 4 months later the Knessest passed a new law allowing bodies to be held until families agree to preconditions on funeral arrangements, effectively using the bodies of Palestinians killed by the IOF as bargaining chips.

Mokafih said the inability to give his son even a simple burial is causing tremendous emotional stress and grief for him and his family. Under Islamic burial traditions, burial should take place within 24 hours after death. Burial with dignity and according to the religious laws of the deceased is a basic human right guaranteed by the Geneva Convention. Even after the loss of a son, the Abu Roumi family is not only denied of their basic rights but forced to continue suffering without closure.

Israeli Teen Killed, Her Father And Brother Injured, In West Bank

Israeli sources have reported that an teenage girl, 17 years of age, was killed, while her brother and father were injured, when a bomb went off near them while hiking near the illegal Dolev colony, in the occupied West Bank. The Israeli army said the bomb was placed by Palestinians and initiated a massive search campaign in the area.

The sources said Rina Shnerb, 17, from Lod city, was killed, while her brother Dvir, 19, suffered serious wounds, and her father Eitan, 46, was mildly injured, when an improvised explosive went off near them while hiking near a spring northwest of Ramallah, in the central part of the occupied West Bank.

The three Israelis were moved to Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem; the condition of her brother was described as serious but stable, and was placed in the Intensive Care Unit for monitoring.

The area where the explosion took place, filled with olive groves, is a destination for many Israeli hikers in the occupied West Bank, and the Palestinians are largely denied access.

Following the incident, the Israeli army closed the area, near to Deir Ibzi’ village, west of Ramallah.

The soldiers also closed all main roads leading to Palestinian villages, west of Ramallah, while more troops were deployed on roads leading to Ramallah and al-Biereh governorate.

The closures and extensive military deployments are focused in Wad ad-Dalb area, west of Ramallah, Kafr Ni’ma village, Ein Ayyoub Junction and Ras Karkar village, where the soldiers stormed and ransacked dozens of homes and stores, and detained a Palestinian photojournalist, identified as Hisham Abu Shaqra.

In addition, the army closed the roads linking between Sarda village and al-Irsal Street, in addition to Ein Siniya junction, at the northern entrance of Ramallah, before stopping and searching dozens of Palestinian cars.

The army also invaded Betunia town, west of Ramallah, especially the area of its main roundabout in the town’s center, and prevented the Palestinians from entering or leaving it.

In addition, dozens of illegal Israeli colonists closed the main roads linking between Huwwara town, south of Nablus in northern West Bank, and several other surrounding areas, before throwing stones at Palestinian cars.

The colonists mainly gathered on Yitzhar road, where they attacked many Palestinian cars, while Israeli soldiers did not try to stop them.

Update on Palestinian Political Prisoners on Hunger Strike in Israeli Occupation Government Jails

Eight Palestinian political prisoners in Israeli occupation government jails continue to go on an open hunger strike to protest Israel’s policy of administrative detention.

The Palestinian Prisoners Club said that Huthaifa Halabiyyeh (28), from Abu Deis in occupied Jerusalem has been on hunger strike for 55 days.

Halabiyyeh, father of a baby girl, has been arrested three times before, despite having serious previous health problems such as leukemia, in addition to suffering from serious burns.

In the same vein, Ahmad Ghannam (42) from occupied Hebron, father of two children, was arrested in June 2019 and has been on hunger strike for 42 days despite of being former leukemia patient. Ghannam is also a former prisoner, who has spent nine years in Israeli jails.

Sultan Makhlouf (38), has been also on hunger strike for 38 days. He declared going on hunger strike as soon as the Israeli authorities said that he will be arrested under administrative detention. Makhlouf has already spent over four years in Israeli jails despite of having breathing problems.

Ismail Ali (30), from Abu Deis in occupied Jerusalem has been on hunger strike for 32 days so far despite of already spending a total of seven years in Israel’s jails.

Wajdi Awawdeh (20), from occupied Hebron has been on hunger strike for 27 days so far. He was arrested in April 2018 despite of having health problems. The Israeli Prison Service has been refusing to provide the needed medical care for Awawdeh, which pushed him to go on hunger strike.

Tareq Qaadan (46), from Jenin, a father of six, has been on hunger strike for 25 days. Qaadan has already spent a total of 11 years in Israel’s jails. He was supposed to be released in February 2019 after completing his jail sentence, but few days before his release, the Israeli authorities ordered to rearrest him under administrative detention.

Naser Jada’a (30), from Burqin in Jenin has been on hunger strike for 18 days so far. He is a former prisoner, who was arrested previously three times.

13 days ago, Thaer Hamdan (21), declared that he will start going on a hunger strike to protest his administrative detention.

Israel has been adopting a policy of arresting Palestinians from all ages under administrative detention, for which it needs no charge to arrest them and they can be arrested for unknown periods.

PCHR Press Release : 71st Great March of Return

On 71st Great March of Return, 149 civilians injured as a result of the Israeli military’s continued use of excessive force against peaceful protests along the Gaza Strip’s eastern border; 66 children, 7 paramedics, including a female paramedic, were among those injured this Friday, 23 August 2019. This week’s protest marked a spike in the number of civilian injuries especially ones caused by live bullets and shrapnel; as well as, targeting medical crews in an indication to the Israeli military’s escalated use of excessive force against protesters. Seventy-seven civilians were shot with live bullets and shrapnel, and 6 civilians were deemed in a critical medical condition.

This escalation came despite that the Supreme National Authority of Great March of Return and Breaking issued instructions for civilians to maintain the peaceful nature of the protests and stay away from any areas open to soldiers and snipers and avoid friction in today’s protest, titled “Protests for al-Aqsa Mosque.” This week also witnessed an increase in number of participants compared to last weeks, knowing that the organizers widely mobilized for the protests.

The protests lasted from 15:00 to 19:00, and involved activities such as speeches by political leaders and theatrical performances. Dozens of civilians protested at varied distances from the border fence across the Gaza Strip. The protestors threw stones, fireworks and balloons at Israeli forces while the latter used excessive force in response.

To this date, PCHR documented 208 killings by Israel since the outbreak of the protests on 30 March 2018, including 44 children, 2 women, 9 persons with disabilities, 4 paramedics and 2 journalists. Additionally, 13,629 were wounded, including 2,801 children, 419 women, 230 paramedics and 210 journalists, noting that many had sustained multiple wounds on multiple occasions.

The following is a summary of Friday’s events along the Gaza Strip border:

Northern Gaza Strip: 3000 protesters participated in Abu Safiyah area protests, northeast of Jabalia. Speeches, theatrical performances and other segments were performed at the protest central encampment. Hundreds of protestors approached the border fence and threw stones at Israeli soldiers, who responded with live and rubber bullets and tear gas canisters at them. As a result, 37 civilians injured, including 17 children and a paramedic; two of them had serious injuries: 27, including 12 children, were shot with live bullets and their shrapnel; 4 were hit with tear gas canisters, including 3 children; and 6, including 2 children, were hit with rubber bullets. The wounded paramedic, Na’im Bashir Mohammed Khader (32) was hit with a rubber bullet to the right arm. The civilians, deemed critically wounded, are: Khaled Abed Rabboh (35), hit with a live bullet to the chest causing fracture in the chest and internal bleeding; and Ibrahim Farid Ibrahim Dawas (27) hit with a rubber bullet that penetrated the right shoulder and settled in the chest.

Gaza City: Around 8 -10 thousand of protestors took part in eastern Malakah area. Speeches, theatrical performances and other segments were performed at the protest central encampment. Dozens of protestors approached the fence at a 100 meters distance and raised the Palestinian flags, fired balloons, set tires on fire and threw stones with slingshots at Israeli soldiers. The soldiers fired live and rubber bullets and tear gas canisters at the protestors. As a result, 17 were injured, including 3 children and a paramedic: 8 with live bullets, 8 with rubber bullets and 1 with a tear gas canister. The wounded paramedic, Mohammed Ismail Sa’ed Abu Qadous (32) was hit with a rubber bullet to his right foot.

Central Gaza: Hundreds of civilians, including women, children and families, took part in the eastern Bureij refugee camp protests; hundreds, including women and children, gathered adjacent to the border fence at a range varying between 2 – 70 meters. At approximately 17:10, some protestors fired balloons containing letters written in Hebrew in addition to Palestinian flags, others threw stones and sound bombs at Israeli soldiers with slingshots. The Israeli soldiers, reinforced with 9 military SUVs, responded with live and rubber bullets in addition to teargas canisters at the protesters, wounding 28 civilians, including 11 children, 2 of whom were seriously injured. Among those injured, 14 were shot with live bullets, 7 were hit with shot with rubber bullets and 7 were directly hit with tear gas canisters. The wounded paramedic, Mohammed Abdul Qader Abu ‘Abdah (23), sustained minor wounds after being hit with a rubber bullet to the hand. Those, who sustained serious injuries were identified as: Mohsen Sa’ed Mo’awaqd al-Jarbah (23) was hit with a live bullet to the jaw, and Mohammed Fathi Mohammed Abu Jari (15) was hit with a rubber bullet to the head.

Khan Younis: thousands participated in Khuza’ah protests. Tens approached the border fence and attempted to throw stones, and fireworks and raised Palestinian flags in addition to chanting national songs; few numbers of them approached the border fence and raised the Palestinian flags there. Israeli forces fired live and rubber bullets and tear gas canisters at protesters, wounding 45 civilians, including 20 children and 2 paramedics:10 with live bullet and their shrapnel; 25 with rubber bullets; and 10 with tear gas canisters. The wounded paramedics were identified as: Mustafa ‘Emad Yusuf al-Senwar (22), hit with a rubber bullet to the neck; and Sami Mousa Abu Mustafa (27) hit with a rubber bullet to the lower extremities.

Rafah: 2500 participated in the eastern Shokah protests, where folklore shows, and speeches were held. Dozens approached the border fence and threw stones. The Israeli soldiers used live and rubber bullets and teargas canisters against the protestors. As a result, 24 civilians were injured, including 5 children and 2 paramedics including a female; 2 of the wounded civilians sustained serious wounds. It was documented that18 were hit with live bullets and their shrapnel, 2 were hit with rubber bullets and 2 were directly hit with tear gas canisters. The wounded paramedics were identified as: Ibrahim Mazen Suleiman Abu Khatlah (19), was shot with a live bullet to the left leg, and Islam Sobhi Yusuf Abu Shawish (29) was hit with a rubber bullet to the head.
