About 40 corpses are removed daily from the rubble of Mosul, the victims were Iraqi civilians killed during the continuous air strikes for years  April 30, 2018, yaqein  انتشال 40 جثة يوميًا من تحت أنقاض الموصل القديمة 30 أبريل 2018  الجثث المدفونة تحت انقاض ايمن الموصل المدمر على رؤوس المدنيين العزل ، لم ينته عددها حتى بعد مرور عشرة اشهر على انتهاء العمليات العسكرية الشعواء على المدينة واطرافها بمحافظة نينوى ، حيث كشف فريقان طوعيان في محافظة نينوى، الاحد، ان عدد الجثث التي ينتشلونها من تحت الانقاض الساحل الايمن لمدينة الموصل بلغ في الاونة الاخيرة 40 جثة في اليوم الواحد. وقال محمد العيدان، المسؤول في فريق “نخوة ذات”، والذي يعمل الى جانب فريق “السرور”، في تصريح صحفي ، ان “عدد الجثث للمدنيين التي يجري انتشالها من قبل الفريقين بلغ نحو 40 جثة في اليوم الواحد، في الاونة الاخيرة”. واكد العيدان ان “عدد الجثث التي تم انتشالها خلال الشهرين الاخيرين تجاوز الألف جثة تابعة لمدنيي الموصل ممن قضو تحت انقاض المنازل المهدمة “. واشار العيدان الى ان “الجثث في الاغلب متفسخة ، ويتم انتشالها بصعوبة بالغة واحيانا بمساندة الفرق الهندسية ، ومن ثم تسليمها الى البلدية والصحة لغرض دفنها، وعمل الفريقين مستمر طيلة الفترة المقبلة”. من ناحية اخرى فأن التهم الجاهزة للقوات المشتركة وميليشيات الحشد الشعبي وحجج الاعتقال لم تفرق بين رجال او نساء ، كون الاهداف واحدة وهي الحاق الضرر الكبير بالمدن والمحافظات المقتحمة بالعمليات العسكرية وبسكانها ، حيث اقرت قيادة شرطة محافظة نينوى، الأحد، عن اعتقال تسع نساء في حملات دهم وتفتيش تم شنها في مناطق عدة جنوب مدينة الموصل بمحافظة نينوى ، بحجة كونهن من المطلوبات للقضاء . http://yaqein.net/politics/106826

Iraqi intelligence services kill 3 Islamic State logistics officials in Mosul

Iraqi intelligence services killed on Sunday three Islamic State (IS) terrorists in the group’s last bastion of Mosul, a military spokesman was quoted as saying.

Spokesman for the Iraqi Security Media Council Brig. Gen. Yehia Rasool told Alghad Press that the 20th division of the Iraqi Military Intelligence targeted the three terrorists, who were carrying food supplies to a terrorist hotbed from Nimrud city to Qayyarah subdistrict in Mosul.

The 2nd rapid response team of Nineveh police also arrested three other terrorists, who are wanted on terror charges, in al-Qawsiyat village, north of Mosul.

Earlier in the day, pro-government troops of al-Hashd al-Shaabi killed a notorious Islamic State (IS) leader in an ambush in al-Safina village, south of Mosul.

A government campaign, backed by paramilitary troops and a U.S.-led international coalition, has been fighting the Islamic State group, which declared a self-styled “caliphate” from Mosul in June 2014.

After Iraq announced victory over Islamic State last December, many IS militants fled to sparsely-populated parts of the al-Jazirah region after suffering a series of defeats across Iraq.

Islamic State continues to launch sporadic attacks across Iraq against troops. Security reports indicate that the militant group still poses a threat against stability in the country.

Five policemen killed, injured in attack by Islamic State, south of Kirkuk

Five police personnel were killed, injured in an attack launched by Islamic State members, south of Kirkuk, an informed security source said on Thursday.

In remarks to Shafaq News website, the source said IS members attacked, late on Wednesday, Federal Police personnel in Rubeida village, south of Daquq.

The attack, according to the source, left two personnel killed and three others injured. Moreover, the Security Media Center denied news that some villages, south of Kirkuk, fell to the militant group.

“An MP from Kirkuk as well as some media outlets said some villages, located south of Kirkuk, fell to IS members,” the center said in a statement. “The news are totally untrue.”

“The truth is that some unknown members sneaked into some villages in the dark. They escaped after security troops there chased them,” the statement added.

On Wednesday, news reports quoted sources as saying that around 60 IS members attacked villages in Daquq town, south of Kirkuk.

Islamic State continues to launch sporadic attacks across Iraq against troops. Security reports indicate that the militant group still poses threat against stability in the country.

The federal troops took over security in Kirkuk province from Kurdish Peshmerga fighters in October, fulfilling instructions made by the Prime Minister Haidar al-Abadi to retake areas where sovereignty is disputed with Kurdistan.

Four Islamic State members killed, near borders with Syria, five arrested in Mosul

 Four Islamic State members were killed in an attack near Syrian borders, while five militant leaders were arrested as they attempted infiltrating into Mosul, Iraqi sources were quoted saying on Wednesday.

In remarks to Anadolu Agency, Lt. Gen. Sabhan Matar, of the army, said security troops managed to repel an IS attack, west of Tal Sufuk region, near borders between Iraq and Syria, which left four members killed.

In Mosul, Lt. Gen. Abbas al-Bayati, of the police, said troops of the Nineveh Operations Command, set up an ambush southeast of Mosul.

Speaking to Anadolu, Bayati said troops checked a vehicle carrying five leaders who were intending to sneak into the city through Jedeidat al-Mufti district. Their ID cards were found to be fake.

During investigations, they were revealed to be IS leaders. “They were trying to enter Mosul after they they fled it toward the city to plan for operations ahead of the parliamentary elections, slated for May 12.

Earlier today, the Spokesperson of the Security Media Center, Yahia Rasoul, said seven Islamic State militants were arrested in Mithaq and Hamasa districts in eastern Mosul.

On Tuesday, Islamic State member Garallah Khairo Habash, who was the head of al-Bayan radio station, was along with three of his companions in al-Azaba village, south of Mosul.

Thousands of Islamic State militants as well as Iraqi civilians were killed since the government campaign, backed by paramilitary troops and the coalition was launched in October 2016 to fight the militant group, which declared a self-styled “caliphate” from Mosul in June 2014.

Twelve Islamic State members, security personnel killed, west of Kirkuk

Twelve Islamic State members as well as security personnel were killed in west of Kirkuk, sources said on Tuesday.

Speaking to AlSumaria News, Wasfi al-Aassi, head of the Hawija Liberation Brigades of al-Hashd al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces), said, “an attack by Islamic State members targeted PMFs in Nawafel village, al-Rashad town, southwest of Kirkuk, leaving one leader killed and five other personnel wounded.”

“Security troops transferred the victim to forensic medicine department, while the wounded were taken to nearby hospital for treatment,” Aassi added.

Moreover, six IS members were killed in a joint operation, northwest of Kirkuk, a security source from the province said.

“Joint troops of the Federal Police and the 16th brigade of PMFs carried out an operation and managed to kill six IS members, near one of the villages at al-Dibs town,” the source told AlSumaria News.

A total of 104 Iraqi civilians and policemen were killed, while 177 others were injured in acts of terrorism, violence and armed conflict in Iraq in March, according to casualty figures by the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).

As many as 3,298 civilians were killed and 4,781 others were wounded in 2017, excluding Anbar civilian casualty figures for November and December, which are not available, UNAMI said in a report in December.

Three people were killed and injured in a bomb blast, southwest of Kirkuk province, a security source was quoted saying on Saturday.

Speaking to Baghdad Today website, the source said, “a bomb, went off at al-Humeira crossroads in al-Rashad town, southwest of Kirkuk. Two people were killed, while the third was wounded.”

“Security troops rushed to the accident spot,” the source who preferred anonymity added. “The wounded were taken to nearby hospital for treatment, while the victim was transferred to forensic medicine department.”

Islamic State continues to launch sporadic attacks across Iraq against troops. Security reports indicate that the militant group still poses threat against stability in the country.

US Military Strikes Hit ISIS Targets in Syria, Iraq

Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve and its partners continued to strike Islamic State of Iraq and Syria targets in designated parts of Syria and Iraq between April 20-26, conducting 26 strikes consisting of 34 engagements, officials reported today.

Strikes in Syria

The following strikes took place in Syria:

-- On April 25, coalition military forces conducted four strikes consisting of four engagements against ISIS targets. Near Abu Kamal, three strikes engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed an ISIS weapons staging area. Near Shadaddi, a strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit.

-- On April 24, coalition military forces conducted five strikes consisting of six engagements against ISIS targets. Near Abu Kamal, four strikes engaged an ISIS tactical unit, destroying three ISIS fighting positions and an ISIS vehicle and damaging a fighting position. Near Shadaddi, a strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed an ISIS vehicle.

-- On April 23, coalition military forces conducted nine strikes consisting of 12 engagements against ISIS targets. Near Abu Kamal, three strikes engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed three ISIS vehicles. Near Shadaddi, six strikes engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed five ISIS vehicles.

-- On April 20 near Abu Kamal, coalition military forces conducted three strikes consisting of three engagements against ISIS targets, destroying an ISIS fighting position and a motorcycle.

-- On April 23 near Tal Afar, coalition military forces conducted a strike consisting of four engagements against ISIS targets, destroying an ISIS-held building.
