Hundreds of Syrians Killed Daily by Regime-Russian-Turkish-US Air Strikes

After they killed 200 Syrian citizens in the province…the warplanes continue their aerial attack on Idlib countryside and concentrate their shelling on its western section

Idlib Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the aerial and rocket shelling is continuing on areas in Idlib province, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the warplanes carried out more intensive strikes this morning and after the midnight of Tuesday – Wednesday, targeting places in Khan Shaykhun city and the towns of Jarjnaz and Saraqeb as well as the villages of Raffa, Umm Elkhalayel, Zarzur, Halbeh, Tawil, Halib, Dhahabiyah, Tweim, Ferwan, Barsah, Qatrah, Samaka, Harran, and Sarman in the eastern, the southern and the south-eastern countryside of Idlib, which caused more material damage to the property of the citizens.

This bombardment comes as a part of the escalated shelling and the fierce aerial attack which targets Idlib countryside, especially the eastern countryside, by the regime’s warplanes and helicopters as well as the Russian warplanes, which left tens of casualties and injuries during the past 72 hours, raising to 194 citizens including 50 children and 36 citizen women, the number of the citizens whose death has been documented by the Syrian Observatory in the bombardment by the warplanes and helicopters, and by the shelling by the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them on areas in Idlib countryside, since the 25th of December until today the 31st of January 2018, while tens of others were injured with permanent disabilities and sever injuries, which may increase the death toll, and the shelling also caused destruction of hundreds of houses and shops and properties, in addition to the damage to destruction in the infrastructure of areas which witnessed heavy shelling, in Idlib, Hama and Aleppo.

About 195 civilian martyrs were killed in escalation of shelling on areas in the countryside of Idlib within 37 days

Idlib province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:: warplanes carry out more airstrikes with ongoing shelling of barrel bombs on Idlib province, where it rose to more than 96, the number of airstrikes and barrel bombs that targeted the southern and eastern countryside of Idlib, and the airstrieks targeted areas in Ariha, Khan Shaykhon, Salameen, Al-Kanayes, Tel Towkan, Tel Al-Sultan, Al-Ghadfa, Sheikh Idris, Tel Kersian, Kafr Amim, Jerjenaz, Ma’erhatat, Haran, Al-Rafa, resulting in the death of at least 14 persons in Ariha including unknown dead bodies, and left several people injured, and the warplanes also shelled areas in the vicinity of Al-Dana town and there is information about shelling on gathering aimed at distributing aid to displaced people and there is information about injured people.

After they failed successive times to advance in this front…the forces of the “Olive Branch” Operation take the control of a village in the north-west of Afrin and the Turkish aircraft do not leave the airspace

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that violent clashes have renewed since today dawn between the Turkish forces and the rebel and Islamic factions against the YPG and the Self-Defense forces, in areas in the north-western countryside of Afrin city, in conjunction with the continuation of the clashes in areas in the western countryside of the city, and the clashes between the both parties are concentrated in the vicinity of Shenkal area, in which the Syrian Observatory learned from intersected sources that the factions and the Turkish forces managed to achieve new advancement and they took the control of Shenkal village which they have failed since the 20th of January 2018, to hold their control over, in which the attack was accompanied by intensive and violent shelling on the village and the clash areas, and the same sources confirmed to the SOHR that the forces of the “Olive Branch” Operation brought more military reinforcements to the area in order to support their forces with more equipment, vehicles and members.

The clashes were accompanied by exchange of targeting in the clash areas, and information about confirmed human losses in the ranks of the both parties, while clashes are taking place between the both parties in Qarnah village in the northern countryside of Afrin, and with this advancement, the that the forces of the “Olive Branch” Operation took the control of 11 villages at leas until now, as well as a number of hills, in Afrin area, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the fall of more human losses in the ranks of the both parties in which it has increased to 85 at least, the number of the fighters of the YPG and the Self-Defense forces who were killed in the aerial, rocket and artillery shelling, clashes and targeting in Afrin area, while it has increased to 81 at least, the number of the members of the rebel and Islamic factions who were killed clashes and targeting, in addition to 9 soldiers of the Turkish forces, where the YPG still have 4 bodies of them, and the clashes between them resulted in the fall of tens of injuries, captives and missing people in the ranks of the both parties, and the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries, and there are information about more human losses in the ranks of the both parties.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the Turkish warplanes are continuing to fly over Afrin area, while the reconnaissance planes do not leave the skies of the area, and the attacking planes targeted during the past few hours, the townships of Bulbula and Jendires, while the Turkish forces renewed their targeting to areas in the border villages of Afrin with the Turkish border line and other places in the depth of the area, and no information about casualties was reported yet, while the SOHR has documented since the 20th of January 2018, the death of 67 Syrian citizens of the Kurds, Arabs and Armenians including 20 children and 12 citizen women, who lived in Afrin area or have been displaced to it in the past years, due to the bombardment by the Turkish warplanes and the shelling by the Turkish forces by shells and missiles, while tens others were injured, and the number of casualties may increase because of the presence of serious injuries

US Officials Report Details of Latest Strikes Against ISIS in Syria, Iraq

From a Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve News Release

SOUTHWEST ASIA, Jan. 26, 2018 —

U.S. and coalition military forces continued to attack the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria between Jan. 19-25, conducting 60 strikes consisting of 93 engagements, Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve officials reported today.

CJTF-OIR officials reported that a significant precision strike involving exhaustive intelligence and observation to confirm ISIS concentrations and ensure no civilian casualties killed 145-150 ISIS in Iraq’s Middle Euphrates Valley Jan. 20.

In addition, officials reported details of the most recent strikes, noting that assessments of results are based on initial reports.

Strikes in Syria

Yesterday in Syria, coalition military forces conducted six strikes consisting of 12 engagements against ISIS targets near Abu Kamal. The strikes engaged three ISIS tactical units and destroyed two ISIS supply routes, four fighting positions, a front-end loader, a road grader and an ISIS line of communication.

On Jan. 24, coalition military forces conducted 11 strikes consisting of 15 engagements against ISIS targets near Abu Kamal. The strikes engaged six ISIS tactical units and destroyed a front-end loader, two ISIS supply routes, four fighting positions and an ISIS line of communication.

On Jan. 23, coalition military forces conducted six strikes consisting of 10 engagements against ISIS targets near Abu Kamal. The strikes engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed three pieces of ISIS construction equipment, three fighting positions and two ISIS supply routes.

On Jan. 22, coalition military forces conducted four strikes consisting of seven engagements against ISIS targets near Abu Kamal. The strikes engaged four ISIS tactical units and destroyed two ISIS supply routes, a command-and-control center and an ISIS-held building.

On Jan. 21, coalition military forces conducted 10 strikes consisting of 13 engagements against ISIS targets near Abu Kamal. The strikes engaged eight ISIS tactical units and destroyed a staging facility, two ISIS supply routes, a munitions storage site, an ISIS-held building, an ammunition truck and a fighting position.

On Jan. 20, coalition military forces conducted 12 strikes consisting of 19 engagements against ISIS targets near Abu Kamal. The strikes engaged 12 ISIS tactical units and destroyed two fighting positions, a staging facility, a vehicle-borne bomb, three weapons caches, two ISIS headquarters, an ISIS motorcycle, an ISIS construction vehicle and an ISIS-held building.

On Jan. 19, coalition military forces conducted seven strikes consisting of 13 engagements against ISIS targets near Abu Kamal. The strikes destroyed two ISIS supply routes, three ISIS equipment vehicles, six fighting positions, two ISIS vehicles and a command-and-control center.

Strikes in Iraq

There were no reported strikes in Iraq Jan. 23-25.

On Jan. 22, coalition military forces conducted a strike consisting of one engagement against ISIS targets near Qara Tapa. The strike destroyed an ISIS weapons cache.

On Jan. 21, coalition military forces conducted two strikes consisting of three engagements against ISIS targets:

-- Near Hawija, a strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed a fighting position and an ISIS command-and-control center.

-- Near Rutbah, a strike destroyed two ISIS tactical vehicles.

On Jan. 20, coalition military forces conducted a strike consisting of one engagement against ISIS targets near Qayyarah. The strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit.

There were no reported strikes in Iraq on Jan. 19.
