Scores of Syrians Killed Daily in Various Cities by Regime Forces, Opposition, Russian and US-Led Attacks October 30, 2017 Editor's Note: The following news stories are just examples of the daily horrors of war in Syria. The following are news stories from the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) website (http://www.syriahr.com/en/): *** Increasing the scope of the ongoing fighting in the neighborhoods of Deir Ezzor city and ongoing clashes in the desert of Al-Mayadin and Al-Bokamal cities in the east of the province SOHR, 30/10/2017 Deir Ezzor Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that warplanes whose identity is not known whether they were Russian or related to the International Coalition, targeted during the last night, the police station of Al-Susa town and a nearby house in Al-Bokamal desert in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that 4 displaced people were killed in the bombardment, and others were injured, while the clashes are continuing at a violent pace between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against the members of the “Islamic State” organization of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, in areas in the south-western desert of Al-Bokamal, where the clashes are concentrated in the Second Station and its vicinity, near the administrative border with Homs province, after ISIS managed to force the regime forces to withdraw from the positions where they had advanced in Al-Bokamal desert, and became at a distance of about 65 km away from Al-Bokamal city which is the last stronghold of ISIS in Syria. Clashes are also taking place between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against the “Islamic State” organization, in areas in Al-Mayadin desert which used to be the capital of “Al-Khair State”, on the western banks of the Euphrates River, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the regime forces are still trying to advance and recover Al-Mayadin city, while Al-Boleel town which is controlled the regime forces in the west of the Euphrates River, and Al-Sabha village which is controlled by the “Islamic State” organization in the east of the Euphrates River, witnessed exchange of shelling and targeting between the both parties, and no information about casualties was reported yet. And in the fronts of Deir Ezzor city, the fighting is still continuing at a violent pace between the regime forces backed by armed militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against the members of the “Islamic State” organization, in areas in the neighborhoods of Al-Hamidiyah, Al-Rashdiyah, Al-Jabilah and Al-Hwiqa, amid the continuation of the regime forces attempts to achieve further advancement and to take the control over the city, as a part of the efforts to end the presence of ISIS in the city, amid continuous and intensive shelling by the regime forces on the positions of ISIS and its controlled area, and information about confirmed casualties in the ranks of the both parties, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday, that the regime forces managed to achieve important advancement, and they took the control of parts of Al-Hamidiyah neighborhood which is the biggest neighborhood in Deir Ezzor city, and the Syrian Observatory also published that although the organization used the advantage of the bad weather to carry out counter attacks on the positions of the regime forces during night, the regime forces backed by gunmen loyal to them, also manage to carry out a violent attack, and advanced controlling Al-Arfi and Al-Ommal neighborhoods, and imposed full control on the area of the Municipal Stadium and the nearby sports constructions in the vicinity of Al-Ommal neighborhood, thus, the regime forces managed to clamp down on the organization greatly in Deir Ezzor city, and the violent fighting between the both parties was accompanied intensive shelling by the regime forces, while the Russian warplanes as well as regime’s warplanes carried out tens of raids on the controlled areas of the organization in Deir Ezzor city, and the clashes which the city witnessed during the past hours, were the most violent ones since the siege on the city was lifted on the 10th of September 2017, and left large numbers of casualties in the ranks of the both parties in Deir Ezzor city, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of more 50 members of ISIS in these clashes as well as the accompanied shelling, while 23 members at leas of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities were killed, and other members in the ranks of the both parties were injured with varying degrees of severity. Tens of strikes, missiles and shells accompany a new violent attack carried out by the regime forces near the hometown of the regime’s Minister of Defense in the north-eastern countryside of Hama SOHR, 29/10/2017 About 400 air strikes target the northern countryside of Hama during 8 consecutive days since the regime forces started their military operations in the north-east of Hama The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the violent clashes are continuing between the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them against the fighters of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, in areas in the noeth-eastern countryside of Hama city, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the violent fighting is concentrated in the vicinity of Umm Turaykiyah, Al-Mshirfah, Khafiyeh and Abu Laffah, followed a preparation by intensive firearm by the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, by tanks, artillery and mortar shells as well as missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, hit the clash areas, and Umm Turaykiyah and Al-Mshirfah areas, which the regime forces are seeking to control, by their violent attack which they started this afternoon the 29th October 2017. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored that the warplanes carried out intensive strikes targeted the controlled areas of Tahrir Al-Sham and the areas which the regime forces attacked, accompanied the violent fighting between the both parties, thus the number of strikes that hit the north-eastern countryside of Hama, has increased to 390 strikes, and caused great damage to the infrastructure and to the property of the citizens, in which the strikes hit the villages of Al-Rahjan, Al-Shatib, Arafa, Tell Khanzir, al-Shakuziyyeh, Qasr Ibn Wardan, Jib Al-Sokkar, Abu Dali, Umm Turaykiyah, Al-Mshirfah, Al-Dafriyyah, Qasr Shawy, Al-Khalidiya, Rabda, Eib Al-Khaznah, Mweileh, Hawayiz, Al-Rweideh, Al-Hamdania, Haymaniyah, Zughayr and other residential communities and position controlled by Tahrir Al-Sham, since the 22nd of October 2017, until today the 29th of October 2017, in which the villages mentioned above witnessed violent and successive air strikes, with varying pace of escalations and intensity. These strikes prepared for the fighting and accompanied the violent clashes, which started on the 24th of October 2017, which mainly concentrated around Al-Rahjan village which is the hometown of the Defense Minister in Al-Assad’s regime the Major General Fahd Jassem al-Freij, which became out of control of the regime forces in the middle of July 2014, in which Nusra Front (Al Qaeda in the Levant) took the control of it then, after continuous and violent attack targeted the village which is located in the north-eastern countryside of Hama, as the regime forces are trying to regain the control of the village, by carrying out successive attacks enabled them during the past few days to take the control of villages and residential communities, after violent fighting took place between them and their loyal gunmen against Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, while they managed to take the control of other residential communities and farms after the “Islamic State” organization withdrew from them, in which the regime forces managed at the beginning of their attack, to advance into the controlled areas of the organization in this countryside, after a series of tens of successive strikes which targeted the areas which used to be controlled by the organization recently after it crossed from Wadi Al-Azeeb through the controlled areas of the organization, and carrying out a violent attack that targeted the Syria forces. Russian Flag did not contribute in returning tens of thousands of displaced people to their homes in north of Aleppo after being displaced by their warplanes early 2016 SOHR, 28/10/2017 Negotiations are still taking place north of Aleppo Province about the return of displaced people to their villages, but no agreements had been reached yet, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that negotiations are taking place with the Syria Democratic Forces by local and civilian parties and other military parties, about the return of tens of thousands of citizens to their villages and towns from which they were displaced in the northern countryside of Aleppo, from the area stretching from Shawargha village until al-Sha’alah area, from the east of Afrin to the western countryside of al-Bab city. The reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that Russian flags and their deployment over the Menagh airbase and sites on contact lines between the Syria Democratic Forces the Turkish forces and the factions supported by them, and the fact that this new transformation -the Russian deployment- moved away the risk of a new fight in the northern countryside of Aleppo between the Syria Democratic Forces and the Turkish forces and their supported factions, the reliable sources confirmed that they have not contributed until now in the success of the negotiations about the return of displaced people, or in reaching an agreement about the mechanism of their return to their villages and towns, most notably Menagh, Tall Rifaat, Kafr Antwan, Deir Jamal, Shaikh Isa, Shawargha, al-Wahshiyyeh, Sheik Kief, Fafin, Ihres, Om Hosh, Kfrnaya, Al-Ziyara, Mar’anaz and other villages in this box which is several hundreds of square kilometers. These areas were controlled by the Syria Democratic Forces during a massive military operation early 2016, after which tens of fighters of the rebel and Islamic factions and Syria Democratic Forces were killed, also it witnessed before that intense raids by Russian and regime warplanes, which caused the death and injury of tens of citizens and displaced tens of thousands of other citizens from their homes, towards other areas in the northern countryside of Aleppo controlled by of the factions, where negotiations are taking place between the Syria Democratic Forces, local and popular committees and military parties in order to return these displaced people to their homes according to a mechanism both parties agree on. Assassinations escalate in Idlib Province targeting more members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and which arrests people accused of carrying out bombings and assassinations SOHR, 29/10/2017 Assassinations continue in Idlib Province north of Syria, where the bodies of two fighters of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham were found, they displaced earlier from Damascus Province and from Rif Dimashq, they were found on the road between Hish village and Hass town, and this is the second assassination in the past 24 hours, where the Syrian Observatory documented on the morning of the 28th of October that an IED exploded on the road between the villages of Kafriya and Al-Sayyadiyah in the eastern countryside of Idlib, after which one member of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham was killed while 4 other members were injured, this comes in a continuation of targeting operations by unidentified people through detonating IEDs and targeting leaders and members in Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and the factions operating in Idlib Province The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham had carried out raids in Khan Shaykhun city in the southern countryside of Idlib, where it arrested a group of people and accused them of carrying out and planning assassinations in Idlib Province, some of them were also accused of being linked to the “Islamic State” organization, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 27 October that a commander in Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham was assassinated in the eastern countryside of Idlib, and the Syrian Observatory learned that the commander is Jordanian, and he was targeted by detonating an explosive device in his car in Maar Dibsah area in the eastern section of Idlib countryside, which caused his death, this assassination is added to the series of the assassinations against commanders and members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and other factions, and the Syrian Observatory documented on the 25th of October 2017, that the son of Nusra Front leader in Qalamoun and Arsal was assassinated in the countryside of Idlib, the sources confirmed that Abu Malik al-Talli was killed by shooting by unknown gunmen in the countryside of Idlib city, while he was travelling on one of the roads in the area, while an Islamic brigade commander of the Islamic Movement of Ahrar Al-Sham was killed after being targeted by unknown gunmen in Filon town located in the southern countryside of Idlib, while a security member of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham was killed and another was wounded, while a bicycle driver was killed and another man who was with him fled away; after chasing and exchange of fire between them in al-Raffah village in the eastern countryside of Maarrat Al-Nu’man in the southern countryside of Idlib, and a military commander in Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham was assassinated by detonating an explosive device in a car he was riding in the town of al-Dana in the northern countryside of Idlib, and a local commander in Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham was found dead this morning, on the road between Halbeh and Raffa towns in the eastern countryside of Maarrat Al-Nu’man, after being kidnapped by unidentified gunmen last night in Khan Shaykhun city in the southern countryside of Idlib, and a commander in Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham was killed and another fighter was injured, as a result of an explosion of an IED, yesterday after the midnight, in the vicinity of Mrayjib Al-Jamalan village in the north-eastern countryside of Hama. And the Syrian Observatory documented on the 29th of September 2017, that unknown gunmen assassinated a leader in Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham of Libyan nationality, while another leader of Syrian nationality who was with was injured, the assassination took place near al-Dana area in the northern countryside of Idlib near the border with Iskenderun, where the Observatory published on the 21st of September that unknown gunmen assassinated 2 “Sharia men” of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham on the road between Harem and Salqeen in the northern countryside of Idlib at the border with Iskenderun, and before that in 2 days the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published that unknown gunmen persons assassinated 2 “Sharia men” of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham in Idlib city, and in details documented by the Syrian observatory: gunmen opened fire of their light weapons on 2 “Sharia men” of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham of Moroccan and Tunisian nationalities, which killed them instantly and then the gunman fled away, and this incident coincided with the assassination of a French leader who was shot when he was on the road of Ma’arrat Mesrin in the northern countryside of Idlib,. These two incidents are part of the escalating assassinations in the ranks of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented on the 18th of September 2017 that unidentified gunmen assassinated a leader of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and a real estate official in the town of Harem in the northern countryside of Idlib and then they fled, and on the 17th of the same month the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published that unknown gunmen assassinated a “judge” of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham of a Gulf nationality. They shot him after leaving a mosque in the city, where the judge works as a preacher in the mosque, and reliable sources asserted that unknown people riding a motorcycle assassinated the gulf judge, Suraqa al-Makki, and escaped. The sources said that the judge assassinated called on Friday sermon and in previous speeches to confront the attack of the Turkish forces in case they attacked the city, and prevent Turkey from entering and intervening in the province of Idlib. The family of Suraqa al-Makki was accused of suppressing demonstrations against the Hayyaat in the city of Idlib and its countryside. Unknown gunmen also assassinated on the 13th of September a Gulf “judge” in Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham in the town of Saraqeb in the eastern countryside of Idlib, where they shot Abu Mohamed the judge within the ranks of the organization of Jund al-Aqsa, of which a part in the ranks of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, while some of them joined the ranks of ISIS. It worth mentioning that these assassinations also come after two of the most prominent Sharia men of “Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham”, have defected of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, they are Abdullah al-Muhaysini and Musleh al-Aliani. Military Strikes Continue Against ISIS in Syria, Iraq SOUTHWEST ASIA, Oct. 28, 2017 — Strike in Syria In Syria, near Dayr Az Zawr, coalition military forces conducted a strike consisting of one engagement against an ISIS tactical unit. Strikes in Iraq In Iraq, coalition military forces conducted seven strikes consisting of 14 engagements against ISIS targets: -- Near Qaim, five strikes engaged four ISIS tactical units and destroyed an ISIS command-and-control center, an ISIS safe house, two ISIS vehicles, one ISIS-held building, four rockets; and damaged two ISIS supply routes. -- Near Rawah, a strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed a vehicle maintenance facility, a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device, a tactical vehicle, a transport vehicle and a weapons cache. -- Near Qayyarah, a strike engaged one ISIS tactical unit, resulting in terrain denial. Oct. 17 Strikes Additionally, four strikes consisting of 18 engagements were conducted in Iraq and a strike consisting of one engagement was conducted in Syria on Oct. 17. -- Near Qaim, three strikes engaged three ISIS tactical units and destroyed an explosives storage facility, four ISIS-held buildings, one construction vehicle and four storage cylinders. Additionally, eight ISIS supply routes were damaged. -- Near Rawah, a strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed an ISIS safe house. -- Near Ash Shaddadi, Syria, a strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed a VBIED.
