227 Syrians Killed in One Day, Thousands in a Month, by US-Russian-Regime Air Strikes, Faction Fighting

Editor's Note:

The coalition which fights the Islamic State and other Sunni groups in Syria consists of US-led NATO forces, Russian forces, Syrian Alewite government forces, Iranian-backed Shi'i militias, and Kurdish peshmerga forces. The coalition's continuous attacks have resulted in the killing of thousands of Iraqi and Syrian Sunni Muslim Arabs and the eviction of millions of them as a result of the destruction of their cities and villages.

The end outcome is going to be the weakening and possible dismantling of Iraqi and Syrian states as well as the eviction (ethnic cleansing of) Sunni Muslim Arabs, particularly from the upper Euphrates region of northwestern Iraq and northeastern Syria. 

The larger context for understanding the Syrian war (and other wars in the Middle East) is that it contributes to the implementation of the Zionist-Israeli plan of destroying the Arab Middle Eastern states in preparation for the establishment of the greater Israeli empire, from the Nile of Egypt to the Euphrates of Iraq.

227 people were killed yesterday, including 56 members of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, and about 40 citizens were killed by bombing by the International Coalition and the fall of shells and by bullets of the border guards and other circumstances

In Idlib province, 4 citizens were killed after being shot by the Turkish border guards, while trying to cross into Turkey from Darkush town in the north-western countryside of Idlib.

In Deir Ezzor Province, one person died affected by injury he had by shelling by the “Islamic State” organization yesterday on areas in Al-Qosur neighborhood controlled by the regime forces in Deir Ezzor city.

21 people were also killed, 15 citizens of them are from one family including 8 children under the age of 18 and 3 citizen women, by the escalated shelling by the International Coalition on the neighborhoods of Al-Raqqah city, which is considered the stronghold of the “Islamic State” organization and its capital in Syria, 4 citizens were also killed by raids by warplanes that weren’t known whether they were Russian or related to the International Coalition on Al-Mayadin city.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also learned that three citizen women and a child were killed by shelling by warplanes that weren’t known whether they were Russian or related to the International Coalition, on places in Al- Taybah area, in the eastern stretch of Al-Mayadin city.

While a group of the “Islamic State” organization sneaked into the area of Al-Karama where the camp of displaced is there, then clashes took place between them and members of SDF, resulting in casualties in the ranks of the displaced people and the SDF.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also documented the death of 19 members of Syria Democratic Forces; they were killed during shelling and clashes against members of the “Islamic State” organization in Al-Raqqah city.

Also at least 13 members of the “Islamic State” organization were killed by raids targeted al-Bokamal, Gharanij, Al-Mayadin and al-Buhamam in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

While the number of members of the “Islamic State” organization and its commanders, who were killed by raids, intensive shelling of artillery and clashes against the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them increased to 174 at least.

And 4 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them were killed by shelling and clashes against the “Islamic State” organization.

The number of the killed members of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities also increased to at least 139, including 23 officers at least, they were killed by explosions, shelling and clashes against the organization.

And 7 fighters at least of the “Islamic State” organization of non-Syrian nationalities were killed, in clashes and bombing by warplanes and helicopters and by the shelling on their areas of presence.

Despite its participation in several Syrian truces, the warplanes keep killing Syrian civilians on their land

Although Russia has entered in truces in several areas in Syria; but these continuous truces wasn’t avoided of airstrikes carried out by the Russian warplanes on areas in Syria, killing and injuring more Syrians, and adding them to the massacres carried out by the Russian warplanes in 22 months of direct intervention in Syria, the airstrikes were started on the 30th of September 2015, and the Russian warplanes are still committing massacres and killing Syrian people, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights was able to document the death of 12477 civilians and fighters of the rebel and Islamic Factions, Fath al-Sham Front (al-Nusra Front formerly) and the “Islamic state” since the dawn of 30th of September 2015 until today the 30th of July 2017, they were killed by thousands of airstrikes which targeted several provinces of Syria, and Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 85 persons at least including 22 children and 19 women between the 30th of June 2017 until today the 30th of July 2017, all of them were killed by the Russian airstrikes.

And the casualties of 21 months were:

– 1308 children under the age of eighteen, 756 citizen women over the age of eighteen and 3258 males over the age of eighteen.

– 3646 members of the “Islamic state” organization.

– 3509 fighters of the rebel and Islamic factions, Fath al-Sham Front, the Islamic Turkestan Party and fighters of Arab and foreign nationalities.

It is worth mentioning that Russia recently used the “Thermite” substance in their airstrikes, which is composed of aluminum powder and iron oxide, and causes burns because it continues to ignite for about 180 seconds, and it is inside the bombs used by Russian warplanes in recent weeks of bombing the Syrian territory, it is a cluster incendiary bombs, its type is “RBK-500 ZAB 2.5 SM” which weighs about 500 kg (about 1100 pounds) dropped by the military aircrafts, and carry small sized bombs anti-individuals and anti-vehicles of the type ((AO 2.5 RTM)), between 50 -110 small sized bombs stuffed with “Thermite”, which outpour out of it when they explode, the range of this anti-individuals and anti-vehicles bombs is between 20-30 meters.

We in the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and through publishing the documented statistics of human losses, which the civilian Syrians are their main victims due to the military operations in Syria, in addition to documenting the war crimes and the crimes against humanity which are continuously committed in Syria, we are also seeking to send a message to the international community, carried through the cries and pain of the Syrian people, perhaps these shocking statistics, cries and pain may move the conscience of this community to act for the immediate sopping of the ongoing murders against the Syrian citizens, and to bring the criminals to the specialized international courts, so they get their punishment.

More causalities raise the death toll of the renewed airstrikes in al-Bukamal city at the border with Iraq to 6 at least

Deir Ezzor Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: The search operations under the rubble caused by the aerial bombardment in the town of al-Bukamal, at the borders with Iraq, located in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, where the death toll rose to at least 6, the number of martyrs documented by the Syrian Observatory Of human rights, who were killed in the shelling by warplanes, whether they belong to the International Coalition or Russia is unknown, on the area of al-Jam’eyyat in the city, on Saturday’s night the 29th of July, 2017. The death toll of the martyrs included a woman and 2 of her children, and another woman and the bombing have left several people injured and others went missing and there are some injured people in serious conditions, which may increase the death toll.

The SOHR published on the 26th of July that warplanes, whose identity was not known whether they were Russian or belong to the International Coalition targeted al-Bukamal city killing at least 9 casualties and injuring other with different severity, warplanes also carried out raids targeting places in the cemetery area, al-Hamidiya neighborhood in Deir Ezzor city and its vicinity, in conjunction with targeting places in al-Panorama area south of the city, and no information about causalities.

In Idlib province, 3 civilians were killed; they are a man was killed by an IED explosion near him on the road to the village of Binin in al-Zawiyah mountain in the southern part of the countryside of Idlib, and two men were killed by the Turkish border guards’ fire, while they were trying to cross to Turkey from the border area of Harem with Iskenderun.

In Damascus province, a man was killed when the regime forces fired a missile believed to be ground-to-ground, on an area in the outskirts of Jobar neighborhood from Zamalka side.

In al-Quneitra province, a child was killed by an IED explosion southeast of Hodr town in the central sector of the countryside of al-Quneitra.

In the province of Homs, a child was killed in shelling by the regime forces on areas in Taldo town, which is located in al-Houla area in the northern countryside of Homs.

In the province of Hama, a man was killed in warplanes’ airstrikes on areas in Aqrab town in the southern countryside of Hama.

It also raised to 9, the number of civilians who were killed in bombardment of warplanes, whether Russian or affiliated to the International Coalition is not known, and a man from al-Mayadeen city died affected by his injuries he had in earlier shelling by warplanes believed to belong to the International Coalition on areas in al-Mayadeen city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. The Syrian Observatory also documented that 6 civilians were killed in aerial bombardment of the International Coalition on the city of al-Raqqa.

The Syrian Observatory also documented 6 fighters of the Syria Democratic Forces who were killed in bombardment and clashes with members of the “Islamic State” organization in the city of al-Raqqa.

And 11 members of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them were killed as a result of shelling and clashes with the “Islamic State” organization.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also learned from cross sources that 4 members of the regime forces and militiamen allied to them, including an officer (captain) were killed in the western countryside of al-Raqqa in circumstances still unknown and mysterious until the moment.

And at least 13 fighters of the “Islamic State” organization of non-Syrian nationalities were killed in clashes and bombardment of warplanes and helicopters and shelling on their areas of presence.

Coalition airstrike and artillery shelling kill 36 persons in Raqqa

Raqqa (Syria News) --

Air strikes carried out by the US-led international coalition and an artillery shelling killed more than 39 persons in the Islamic State-held city of Raqqa, Enab Baladi reported on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the IS-owned news agency “Amaq” mentioned that 36 persons were killed, while 50 others were wounded in the city of Raqqa, due to an artillery shelling and US air strikes on the neighborhoods of the city.

The news was confirmed by “Raqqa is silently slaughtered” Campaign, which also pointed out to another air strike carried out by Russian warplanes, two days ago, on a IDPs camp in al-Sabkha Town, killing 15 persons.

Moreover, Wrath of the Euphrates Operations Command announced that security forces managed to liberate the vicinity of al-Moustafa Mosque completely, in the center of Nazlet Shehada neighborhood, south of Raqqa.

It is noteworthy, United Nations announced on June 29 that nearly 100 thousand civilians are besieged in the city of Raqqa, north of Syria.

On the same context, a report published by the Syrian Network for Human Rights documented the killing of at least 1400 civilians, including 308 children and 203 women in the city of Raqqa, in the period between 6 November 2016 and 30 June 2017.

U.S. and coalition military forces continued to attack the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria yesterday, Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve officials reported today.

Officials reported details of yesterday's strikes, noting that assessments of results are based on initial reports.

Strikes in Syria

In Syria, coalition military forces conducted 12 strikes consisting of 17 engagements against ISIS targets:

-- Near Abu Kamal, a strike destroyed an ISIS headquarters.

-- Near Al Shadaddi, a strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed a staging area.

-- Near Dayr Az Zawr, two strikes destroyed five ISIS oil stills and four oil tanks.

Iraqi Forces Control Mosul, Fighting Continues in Raqqa

WASHINGTON, July 24, 2017 —

Iraqi forces now control all parts of Mosul, Iraq, while tough fighting against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria continues in Raqqa, Syria, Pentagon spokesman Navy Capt. Jeff Davis told reporters here today.

Since the height of ISIS's power in 2014, the coalition has retaken more than 70 percent of formerly ISIS-controlled territory in Iraq and 50 percent in Syria, he said, and the coalition fighting ISIS continues to grow.

“There are now 73 partners in that coalition, which is 69 countries plus the European Union, NATO, the Arab League and Interpol,” the International Police Organization, he said, noting that coalition partners in Iraq and Syria have retaken more than 44,400 square miles of territory, and freed 5 million people from ISIS control.

Iraq Operations

In an update of operations beginning with Iraq, Davis said that Iraqi forces continue to conduct detailed clearance operations of rebel caves and tunnel systems in Mosul's old city, looking for any remaining ISIS fighters and seeking to identify explosive devices that could threaten friendly forces or civilians.

The old city is the focus of cleanup operations, he said, and the Iraqi army, the Emergency Response Division forces, the Counter Terrorism Service and federal police are holding sectors in Mosul until the holding force takes over security.

“There's been only one coalition strike in Mosul in the last week and a single-digit number of direct-fire engagements in Mosul in the last week. These are indicators of the improved security and stability situation there,” Davis said.

Before the single strike over the past week, the last time the coalition made no strikes on Mosul was Sept. 15, he added.

The coalition has conducted multiple strikes in Tal Afar this week against supply caches, vehicle-borne bomb factories and command-and-control locations, Davis said.

“[Iraq's] forces will decide when it’s best to begin the offensive operations to defeat ISIS in Tal Afar, and when [they are] ready, the coalition will be there to support,” he said.

Syria Operations

Davis said that today is the 50th day of operations to defeat ISIS in Raqqa and about 40 percent of the city is now under control of the Syrian Democratic Forces, and yesterday the SDF liberated about 2 square miles of terrain in and around Raqqa as they fought off stiff resistance along three axes.

On the city’s western axis, he added, the SDF gained ground along a corridor south of the main supply route despite heavy ISIS resistance with small arms, machine-gun fire and homemade bombs.

“On the eastern axis, the SDF made incremental gains and repelled ISIS counterattacks, and incorporated indirect fires and vehicle-borne [improvised explosive devices], Davis said. “On the southern axis south of the Euphrates River the SDF cleared about 1.5 square miles, despite ISIS counterattacks from area villages.”

He also said the east-west deconfliction line south of the Euphrates is holding, referring to the boundary established through the Russian channel to deconflict the advance of regime forces.

“Regime forces further to the south are moving ... in the direction of Dar Azar,” Davis said, “and this deconfliction mechanism has worked effectively to ensure that there are no skirmishes between SDF fighters and regime fighters as the regime moves further downriver.”
