Hundreds of Syrians Killed, More Destruction, by US-Led-Regime Air Strikes and Fighting

Editor's Note:

The coalition which fights the Islamic State and other Sunni groups in Syria consists of US-led NATO forces, Russian forces, Syrian Alewite government forces, Iranian-backed Shi'i militias, and Kurdish peshmerga forces. The coalition's continuous attacks have resulted in the killing of thousands of Iraqi and Syrian Sunni Muslim Arabs and the eviction of millions of them as a result of the destruction of their cities and villages.

The end outcome is going to be the weakening and possible dismantling of Iraqi and Syrian states as well as the eviction (ethnic cleansing of) Sunni Muslim Arabs, particularly from the upper Euphrates region of northwestern Iraq and northeastern Syria. 

The larger context for understanding the Syrian war (and other wars in the Middle East) is that it contributes to the implementation of the Zionist-Israeli plan of destroying the Arab Middle Eastern states in preparation for the establishment of the greater Israeli empire, from the Nile of Egypt to the Euphrates of Iraq.

Warplanes violate the Cairo truce in the Eastern Ghouta for the second day in a row

Rif Dimashq province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

The Truce in the Eastern Ghouta continues for the second consecutive day, it was started on Saturday afternoon the 22nd of July 2017, where the truce continues with more escalated violations by the regime forces, which were accompanied by targeting by the factions for the regime forces in the contact line between both parties, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on documented on Monday morning the 24th of July 2017 the warplanes carrying out 3 Raids targeted areas in the town of Ein Tarma located at the western outskirts of the Eastern Ghouta and adjacent to Jobar neighbourhood east of the capital Damascus, where the raids injured 5 citizens, also warplanes carried out 2 raids on areas in the outskirts of Hosh Al-Dawahra town and other places in Nashabiyah town in area Al-Marj area in the Eastern Ghouta, while the Syrian Observatory documented this morning the fall of a mortar shell on area at the outskirts of Harasta city, but no information about casualties

And the Syrian Observatory documented yesterday targeting by fighters of an Islamic faction for an armored vehicle belongs to the regime forces near Arbin area in the Eastern Ghouta, which caused damaged it, but no information about casualties so far, also the Syrian Observatory published hours ago that it documented the fall of a shell on area in outskirts of Harasta city which caused material damage.

The Syrian Observatory also documented violations since yesterday afternoon, where 6 raids were carried out by warplanes on Ein Tarma town, and 2 raids on Douma city its outskirts, and the regime forces shelled areas in Ein Tarma, also fighters of Jaysh al-Islam targeted using mortar shells positions of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them in the areas of Al-Dawahra and Al-Rihan in the Eastern Ghouta, also the Syrian Observatory documented the fall of a shell launched by the regime forces on the outskirts of Jesrin town, and shelling by the regime forces with four missiles believed to be ground-to-ground on areas in Jobar neighbourhood east of the capital Damascus.

The regime forces also targeted the outskirts of Ein Tarma town with 10 mortar shells which caused material damage, but no information about casualties, and the fall of six shells launched by the regime forces on areas at the outskirts of Beit Nayem town located in Al-Marj area in the Eastern Ghouta, which caused material damage, also Since the start of the truce the observatory documented a shell targeted the outskirts of Harasta city which caused material damage.

The Syrian Observatory documented the first violation which was 3 artillery shells launched by the regime forces on areas in Douma city, which caused 5 casualties, and the quiet prevails areas of the clash east of the capital and its eastern Ghouta, within the truce that provides for a cease-fire, which came as a result of the renewal of the “de-escalation zones” agreement applied since the 6th of May 2017, where the renewed agreement concerns the Eastern Ghouta area in Rif Dimashq, with the exception of areas controlled by Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, the agreement is based on a complete cease-fire, the introduction of humanitarian and food aid to the area and the evacuation of injuries and ill cases from the Eastern Ghouta to receive treatment.

Shelling hits the northern countryside of Aleppo and the factions target the regime forces in Hama Province

Aleppo Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

The regime forces shelled after midnight areas in Al-Kharab village in the northern countryside of Aleppo. No casualties were reported. A shell was also dropped after midnight on an area in the vicinity of Qortoba Highway in Jam’eyyat Al-Zahraa neighborhood, west of Aleppo. Likewise, no casualties were reported.

Hama Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: the rebel factions targeted with several shells positions of the regime forces at Abu Obaida Checkpoint, north of Muhradah city in the western countryside of Hama. Casualties were reported among the regime forces. In response, the regime forces shelled areas in Al-Lataminah town in the northern countryside of Hama.

Renewed airstrikes hit the eastern countryside of Al-Raqqah near the southern banks of the Euphrates

Al-Raqqah Province, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

A young man was killed and several others were injured after midnight as a result of a targeting by the “Euphrates Wrath” Operation Forces of areas in Al-Bostan Park in Al-Raqqah city. Simultaneously, warplanes carried out several raids on areas in the villages of Zur Shammar and Al-Maghla in the eastern countryside of Al-Raqqah, causing material damages. The SOHR published yesterday that ISIS-controlled areas at the southern banks of the Euphrates in the eastern countryside of Al-Raqqah, were witnessing intense raids carried out by warplanes, whether they were Russian or affiliated with the International Coalition is unknown.

The raids targeted the villages of Zor Shammar, Khammasiyyeh, al-Hesiwah and Al-Thiyabiya, Shammar Foqani, leaving 4 citizens dead, including one woman and others injured. Local sources also confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that a massive displacement was taking place in villages and towns south of the Euphrates, amid fears and apprehension in the area of the escalated aerial bombardments. Such escalation started on 18 July 2017 when warplanes, believed to be affiliated with the International Coalition,  perpetrated a massacre in the southern banks of the Euphrates killing 15 civilians, including 3 children under the age of eighteen and 4 women over the age of eighteen, in Zur Shammar village in the eastern countryside of Al-Raqqah.

51 persons were killed yesterday including 24 members of the regime forces and their allied militiamen and 11 other civilians

In al-Hasakah province, a body of a university professor, who was the dean of the Faculty of Agriculture in the city of Hasaka, was found dead near Amal al-Melh area west of Al-Hasakah. He was shot dead 3 days after being kidnapped by unknown gunmen.

In Idlib province, a young man from Idlib city was killed in IED explosion near al-Sa’aa roundabout in the city.

In Daraa province, a woman died affected by injuries she had 3 weeks ago by shells on areas in shelling on Izra’a town, which is controlled by the regime forces in the northern countryside of Daraa.

In Aleppo province, a child was killed in a landmine planted by the “Islamic State” organization in Maskanah area, which is controlled by the regime forces a few weeks ago in the eastern countryside of Aleppo.

It was documented, 7 civilians were killed including a woman and 3 of her children and another woman and her child in bombing of the International Coalition on areas in al-Raqqa city 2 weeks ago.

And 24 members of the regime forces and their allied militiamen in shelling and during clashes with the “Islamic State” organization and other clashes with the factions.

And at least 16 fighters of the “Islamic State” organization of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities were killed in clashes and shelling of warplanes and helicopters and shelling on their areas of presence.

63 were killed yesterday including 9 members of the regime forces and their allied militiamen and 15 other civilians

In Hama province, 8 persons including 4 women were martyred after they were targeted by several shells.

In Rif Dimashq province, 6 fighters of the Islamic factions were killed during clashes with the regime forces in Ein Tarma area and the Eastern Ghouta and the barren mountains of the western al-Qalamoun.

In Deir Ezzor province, a man died affected by injuries he had in an explosion of a landmine in the countryside of Deir Ezzor during his attempt to reach al-Hasaka.

It has risen to more than 77, the number of members an fighter of Islamic Movement of Ahrar al-Sham and Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham who were killed in executions, fire shootings, and targeting and during clashes between both sides since the outbreak of their fight at night of the 18th of July 2017.

 4 persons and 2 women were killed in shelling by the Coalition’s warplanes on areas in al-Raqqa city and 9 members of the regime forces and their allied militiamen died due to injuries they had in shelling and clashes with the “Islamic State” organization and the factions.

At least 11 fighter of the “Islamic State” organization of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities were killed in clashes and shelling by the warplanes and helicopters and shelling on their areas of presence.

Airstrikes of the International Coalition in its 34th month kill more than 200 civilians raising the civilian’s death toll to more than 2000

The warplanes of the International Coalition have escalated the targeting in the Syrian areas, and as a result of this escalation, more Syrian lives have been claimed in the 34th month of operations by the International Coalition in Syria.

Where at the 23rd of July 2017, warplanes of the International Coalition have completed their 34th month of airstrikes that targeted areas in Syria, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented in this 34th month starting from the 23rd of June 2017 until today the 23rd of July 2017 the death of 476 persons, they are 162 civilians including 53 child and 60 women, in addition to 42 prisoners at the “Islamic State” organization and 272 members at least of the “Islamic State” organization.

And the death toll of this month raises the total death toll of people who have been killed since the 23rd of September 2014 until the 23rd of July 2017 to 9274 person, they were killed in bombing and raids by warplanes of the International Coalition, also these airstrikes have injured hundreds of other citizens and some of whom wave had serious injuries, amputations and disabilities, they have also damaged private and public property.

Among the total number of casualties there are 1961 Syrian civilian citizens, including 441 children under the age of eighteen, and 336 citizen women over the age of eighteen, they were killed in the provinces of al-Hasakah, Al-Raqqah, Aleppo, Idlib and Deir Ezzor, including 58 persons including 6 children, a citizen woman and 19 unidentified persons were killed in targeting a call-for-Islam center in al-Jinah village in the western countryside of Aleppo, and more than 64 persons including 12 children, were killed in bombing by Coalition’s warplanes on al-Tokhar area in the northern countryside of Manbij, and 64 civilians killed in a massacre at the night of Thursday-Friday 30th/4 and 1st/5 of 2015 in the village of Bir Mahhalli near Sarrin town south of Ayn al-Arab (Kobani) city as following: 31 persons under the age of eighteen (16 male and 15 female), 19 citizen women over the age of eighteen years, 13 men over the age of eighteen, and an eighteen years old boy.

154 persons of families of the “Islamic State” organization, they are 68 children under the age of sixteen, 57 women and 29 men, all of them were killed in airstrikes by warplanes of International Coalition on a building in al-Mayadeen city in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, and 42 prisoners who were killed by international coalition airstrike on Abu Abdullah Al-Nuaimi, who is a former leader in Nusra Front “Qaeda Organization in the Levant”, and who was executed by the “Islamic State” organization and took his house and turned it into a prison affiliated to the security services of the organization, which has been divided into main parts, one of them is for civilians and the other part is for the prisoners of the members of the organization

And a commander in the “Islamic state” organizing was killed with his wife and 4 of their children, in the bombing by the International Coalition’s warplanes on Dabeq area in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

Also 6649 members of the “Islamic state” at least were killed, most of them are not Syrians, including tens of leaders of Syrian, Arab and foreign nationalities, most notably Abu Omar al-Shishani, Abu Osama al-Iraqi the Wali of “al-Baraka State”, Amer al-Rafdan the former Wali of “al-Khair State”, the leader Abu Sayyaf, Aby Jandal al-Kuwaiti, Abu Sufiyan al-Omrani and Abu Huthayfa al-Orduni.

Also 141 fighters at least from Fath al-Sham Front were killed in the bombing by the International Coalition’s warplanes on headquarters of Jabhat Al-Nusra in the western countryside of Aleppo and the northern countryside of Idlib, the most prominent is the leader in al-Qaeda Muhsin al-Fadli, Abu Hamam the military leader in Jabhat al-Nusra, Abu Omar al-Kurdi, Abu Hamza al-Faransi, Abu Qatada al-Tunusi and Abu al-Afghan al-Masri.

While 10 fighters from Jaysh al-Sunna were killed in the bombing of the International Coalition’s warplanes on their HQs in Atamah area in the countryside of Idlib, also a fighter from an Islamic Brigade was detained by the “Islamic state” killed in bombing by International Coalition’s warplanes on a headquarters for the “Islamic State” in the township of Ma’dan in the countryside of Al-Raqqah.

Also a media man works for agency belongs to the “Islamic state” was killed in airstrikes carried out by warplanes believed to be for the International Coalition on areas in the village of Tal Battal in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

While the international coalition warplanes killed 140 members at least from the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them by targeting the Artillery battalion and other sites in the vicinity of al-Thardeh Mountain in Deir Ezzor city, and al-Shayrat Airbase in the countryside of Homs and an area near al-Tanaf in the Syrian Desert.

And 157 of the jihadi groups were killed in shelling by warplanes of the International Coalition on Idlib Province and on the western countryside of Aleppo, including tens of the prominent leaders and field commanders and “international Jihadists”.

And 12 members at least of commanders and members of Jaysh Khaled Ibn al-Walid which swore allegiance to the “Islamic State” organization were killed in bombing by warplanes, but it is not known whether the warplanes belong to  the International Coalition or not, where the warplanes targeted Jomla area adjacent to the administrative border with the Syrian occupied Golan, and other areas in al-Yarmouk Valley in the western countryside of Daraa.

We, in the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, believe that the human losses in the ranks of the “Islamic State” and other Islamic factions are greater than the number we managed to document so far, because of the extreme secrecy by the targeted parties about their human losses.

We in the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, and with the international coalition’s completing for 33 months of airstrikes targeting the Syrian areas, and killing about 1800 Syrian civilians including about 777 children and women, we strongly condemn targeting civilians in anywhere and under any pretext and in any time by the international coalition and these parties, because they repeatedly went deaf in regard with the earlier persistent calls by the Observatory, the Observatory also renews the call to spare the civilians from any military action on the Syrian soil, because the sons of the Syrian people have had enough killing, where millions of them were killed, injured and displaced as the result of the shelling and bombing that targeted their areas, while the international community continues its horrifying silence towards the Syrian people’s pain and hopes of reaching the state of justice, equality, democracy and freedom, as well as punishing those who have killed and helped in the killing, and bringing them for justice in the specialized courts.

US-Led Coalition Strikes Target ISIS in Syria, Iraq

U.S. and coalition military forces continued to attack the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria yesterday, conducting strikes and engagements, Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve officials reported today.

Operation Inherent Resolve - Targeted Operations Against ISIS U.S. Central Command continues to work with partner nations to conduct targeted airstrikes in Iraq and Syria as part of the comprehensive strategy to degrade and defeat the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, or ISIS.

Officials reported details of yesterday's strikes, noting that assessments of results are based on initial reports.

Strikes in Syria

In Syria, coalition military forces conducted 13 strikes consisting of 17 engagements against ISIS targets:

-- Near Abu Kamal, three strikes destroyed eight ISIS oil refinement stills and two oil tankers.

-- Near Dayr Az Zawr, three strikes engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed a vehicle, an oil tanker and an oil storage tank.

Strikes in Iraq

In Iraq, coalition military forces conducted nine strikes consisting of 17 engagements against ISIS targets:

-- Near Mosul, three strikes engaged two ISIS tactical units, destroyed two fighting positions and two tunnel entrances and damaged a fighting position.

-- Near Qayyarah, two strikes engaged two ISIS tactical units and destroyed two ISIS-held buildings.

-- Near Rawah, two strikes destroyed two ISIS-held buildings and two tactical vehicles.

-- Near Tal Afar, two strikes destroyed an ISIS tactical vehicle and a mortar system.

July 15 Strikes

Additionally, 14 strikes were conducted in Syria and Iraq on July 15 that closed within the last 24 hours:

-- Near Shadaddi, Syria, a strike destroyed a fighting position.

-- Near Raqqa, Syria, 12 strikes engaged five ISIS tactical units and destroyed seven fighting positions, three mortar team positions, a mortar system, a fighting position and a vehicle.

-- Near Kisik, Iraq, a strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed a tunnel entrance.
