Israeli Occupation Soldiers Attack Protesters In Hebron December 10, 2017 11:16 AM IMEMC News Israeli occupation soldiers resorted to the excessive use of force, Sunday, and attacked dozens of Palestinians, mainly schoolchildren, who marched in the al-‘Arroub refugee camp, north of Hebron, denouncing the illegal American stance regarding occupied Jerusalem. The Palestinians marched from several schools in the refugee camp, while chanting for the liberation of Palestine, and ending the illegal Israeli occupation, before the soldiers fired rubber-coated steel bullets, gas bombs and concussion grenades the them. Medical sources said many Palestinians suffered the effects of teargas inhalation, and received the needed treatment. The soldiers also invaded several homes in the camp, searched them, and occupied their rooftops. Occupation Army Abducts A Child In Bethlehem, Injures Several Palestinians December 10, 2017 10:48 AM IMEMC News Israeli occupation soldiers injured several Palestinians, and abducted one child, earlier Sunday, at the eastern entrance of ‘Aida refugee camp, north of Bethlehem, in the occupied West Bank. Medical sources said the soldiers attacked Palestinian protesters, and fired many gas bombs and concussion grenades, causing many to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation. The soldiers also assaulted several Palestinians, and abducted a child, identified as Nayef Naji Abu ‘Aker, 14. Furthermore, the soldiers abducted four Palestinian teenagers, in Beit Ummar town, and the al-Fawwar refugee camp, in addition to summing another Palestinian for interrogation, in Hebron governorate, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank. In related news, the Palestinian Health Ministry said that the army continues to target journalists, ambulances and medical teams, across occupied Palestine, in direct violation of International Law, and the Fourth Geneva Convention. Israeli Occupation Soldiers Abduct Four Palestinians In Hebron December 10, 2017 9:33 AM IMEMC News Israeli occupation soldiers abducted, on Sunday at dawn, four Palestinian teenagers, in Beit Ummar town, and the al-Fawwar refugee camp, in addition to summing another Palestinian for interrogation, in Hebron governorate, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank. The soldiers invaded several neighborhoods, and the town’s center, in Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, before breaking into and violently searching homes, and abducted Karim Hamdi Abu Mariya, 16, Mo’tasem Jamal ‘Alqam, 19, and Ala’ Jihad Sabarna, 19. The soldiers also assaulted Ala’s father, and his brother, leading to several cuts and bruises, and caused damage to their home. Also in Beit Ummar, the soldiers invaded and searched the home of Raed Khalil, and summoned his son, ‘Ala, for interrogation in Etzion military base and security center, north of Hebron. Furthermore, the soldiers, stationed at the al-Fawwar refugee camp junction, south of Hebron, abducted a young man, identified as Mohammad ‘Alawna. Israeli Violence Against Civilians, Press Continues Through Weekend in Hebron December 10, 2017 4:03 AM IMEMC News & Agencies 12/09/17 | International Solidarity Movement | al-Khalil Team Clashes continued throughout the weekend in Hebron, after Palestinian civil society groups called for “three days of rage” in response to Donald Trump’s widely unrecognized declaration that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. Across the West Bank and Gaza, Palestinians organized general strikes, as well as non-violent marches and demonstrations, all of which were met with military violence by Israel. In Hebron, the violence from the Israeli army included the use of numerous rounds of tear gas, sound bombs, rubber-coated steel bullets, and live ammunition against the press and civilians, including passing families and the elderly. Soldiers also entered shops and forced businesses to close, causing further disruption to daily civilian life. Some young Palestinians resisted the Israeli army’s invasion using stones, and also by throwing the Israeli army’s own tear gas canisters back towards the soldiers. On Friday alone, between 15 and 20 Palestinian minors were arrested, including at least five that weren’t involved in the clashes, one of which was taken straight from his home. Of the five boys that ISM activists witnessed being arrested, four of them were brutally beaten by large groups of soldiers after they were subdued and handcuffed and posed no threat to the soldiers. As of 5:00 PM on Saturday, two of the boys remained hospitalized due to their injuries. In declaring that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, Donald Trump formalized the United States’ position as one in contravention of international law and the opinion of the international community. The international community has expressly stated – through UN Resolution 181 and others – that it doesn’t recognize any claim to sovereignty over Jerusalem by Israel, which is why most states maintain their embassies to Israel in Tel Aviv rather than Jerusalem. Youth Shot in Eye with Rubber Bullet during Ramallah Protest December 10, 2017 3:31 AM IMEMC News & Agencies Israeli occupation army forces, Saturday night, shot a young Palestinian man in his eye with a rubber-coated steel bullet, during protests at the northern entrance of the city of al-Bireh. The Ministry of Health said, in a press release, that the man was transferred to the Palestine Medical complex in the city of Ramallah, describing his injury as critical. Since the announcement made by US president Donald Trump recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and plans to transfer the embassy from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv, Palestinians have observed “days of rage” to express rejection of this move. Protests Continue in Bethlehem December 10, 2017 3:22 AM IMEMC News & Agencies Israeli soldiers violently suppressed protests in the southern occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem for the third day in a row, on Saturday, firing tear gas and sponge-tipped bullets at locals. Dozens of people were treated for severe tear-gas inhalation while others were injured with sponge bullets, according to Ma’an News Agency. Clashes had broken out at around 8 a.m. near the apartheid wall at the northern end of the city, as Palestinians — mostly young men — continued protesting against Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Confrontations continued throughout the afternoon. Locals said that, at around 4 p.m., fierce clashes had erupted in the nearby Aida refugee camp after some Palestinian youth set fire to an unmanned Israeli military watchtower in the camp. Soldiers responded by showering the camp with gas. The events in Aida, tonight, come a month after the Commissioner General for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Pierre Krähenbühl, delivered a speech saying that “health experts suggests residents of Bethlehem’s Aida camp are exposed to more tear gas than any other population surveyed globally.” Israeli Occupation Army Attacks Nonviolent Protesters In Jerusalem, Assault Reporters December 9, 2017 10:16 PM IMEMC News Israeli occupation soldiers attacked, Saturday, nonviolent Palestinian protester in Salaheddin Street, in occupied East Jerusalem, and assaulted many residents, and journalists. The soldiers, and mounted officers, resorted to excessive force against the Palestinians, and fired dozens of gas bombs and concussion grenades at them, in addition to grabbing Palestinian flags and confiscating them. In addition, the soldiers detained legislator Jihad Abu Zneid after assaulting her. The Palestinian Red Crescent said twelve Palestinians were injured due to the Israeli attack.. The procession was held as part of ongoing protests in Jerusalem, and several parts of Palestine, against Trump’s decision, recognizing the occupied city as the capital of Israel, in direct violation of International Law. The soldiers fired at least three tanks shells, two into farmlands lands, and one which detonated near a home, causing serious damage but no injuries. The Israel claimed that “it was retaliating to shells fired earlier” at a settlement, close to the border with Gaza. Gaza Student Shot during Clashes with Israeli Forces December 9, 2017 7:43 PM IMEMC News & Agencies A student was injured on Saturday, east of Khan Younis, in the south of the Gaza Strip, when Israeli soldiers stationed near the border opened fire at a group of students demonstrating against a US decision recognizing Jerusalem as the official capital of Israel. Witnesses said hundreds of students were demonstrating near the border fence against the decision when soldiers opened fire at them and showered them with tear gas. One student was shot and injured, according to WAFA. He was taken to hospital where he was reported in moderate condition. Israeli Occupation Soldiers Injure Many Palestinians In Bethlehem December 9, 2017 2:26 PM IMEMC News Israeli occupation soldiers attacked, Saturday, dozens of Palestinians, who marched near the northern entrance of Bethlehem city, in the occupied West Bank, wounding dozens, including a journalist. The soldiers attacked the Palestinians, who marched from the center of Bethlehem city, and headed towards its northern entrance, before the soldiers fired dozens of gas bombs, concussion grenades and rubber-coated steel bullet, at them, and many surrounding homes and buildings. Medical sources said many Palestinians, including Ma’moun Wazwaz, a cameraman working for Reuters, suffered the severe effects of teargas inhalation. In related news, the soldiers attacked Palestinian shepherds, in the Northern Plains of the occupied West Bank, and abducting one of them, identified as Ezzeddin Ka’abna. Israeli Air Force Bombards Gaza, Kills Two Palestinians December 9, 2017 1:38 PM IMEMC News The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza has reported that Israeli soldiers fired, on Saturday at dawn, several missiles into an area, south of Gaza city, killing two Palestinians, and causing serious damage to many buildings. Dr. Ashraf al-Qedra, the spokesperson of the Health Ministry in Gaza, said medics and rescue teams rushed into the bombarded area, and located the remains of two Palestinians, buried under the rubble. He added that the two Palestinians have been identified as Mahmoud Mohammad at-‘Atal, 29, from Sheikh Radwan area, and Mohammad Jabr as-Safadi,25, from ad-Daraj neighborhood, in Gaza city. Mahmoud al-Atal The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, said the two are members of the group, adding that the bombarded site “Bader” was run by it. The army also fired many missiles into three other Qassam sites, south of Gaza city, in addition to Khan Younis, and east of Jabalia, in northern Gaza. On Saturday morning, Israeli soldiers, stationed across the border fence, shot and injured at least one Palestinian, and caused many others to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation. Media sources said the army attacked dozens of protesters, who marched in Khuza’a town, east of Khan Younis, moderately wounding one teenager, and caused many others, mainly school students, to suffer the severe effects of teargas inhalation. Mohammad Jabr as-Safadi The wounded teen was rushed to Nasser hospital, in Khan Younis, while the medics provided treatment for many Palestinians who suffered the effects of teargas inhalation. The soldiers also shot a woman, 35, with a live round in her shoulder, in the eastern part of the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army claimed it was retaliating to shells fired from Gaza, on Friday, on Sderot and nearby areas, in the Negev. On Friday evening, the army bombarded many areas in northern Gaza, wounding at least fifteen Palestinians, including a child who suffered life-threatening injuries. It Is worth mentioning that the Palestinian Health Ministry reported, Friday, that Israeli soldiers killed two Palestinians, and injured 1114 others, in several parts of the occupied West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip. Ministry Of Health: Two Palestinians Killed, 1,114 Injured by Israeli Army Fire December 9, 2017 4:36 AM IMEMC News The Palestinian Health Ministry reported, Friday, that Israeli soldiers have killed two Palestinians, and injured 1114 others, in several parts of the occupied West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip. A baby was one of those injured on Friday. The Ministry said that 954 Palestinians received treatment by local medics, mostly due to teargas inhalation, or after being shot with rubber-coated steel bullets, and moved 160 others, including those who were shot with live rounds, to various hospitals in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Jerusalem. The Health Ministry also said that five of the wounded Palestinians, from the Gaza Strip, suffering life-threatening injuries, and many others suffered moderate wounds, while the rest suffered minor injuries, such as cuts and bruises, and the effects of teargas inhalation. It is worth mentioning that, on Friday at night, the shot and injured a young Palestinian woman in her leg, near Ramallah city in central West Bank. Israeli Occupation Army Attacks Scores of Palestinian Journalists December 9, 2017 2:41 AM IMEMC News The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate has reported that Israeli soldiers deliberately targeted scores of journalists, Friday, in various parts of the occupied West Bank, Gaza Strip and Jerusalem. It said that the soldiers shot Omar Abu Awad, the head of Palestine TV office in Jericho, with a rubber-coated steel bullet in his left leg, while reporting on protests, south of the city. Another journalist, identified as Adel Abu Ni’ma, who works for Reuters, was shot with a gas bomb in the same area. The soldiers also fired many gas bombs and concussion grenades at journalists, north of al-Biereh, in central West Bank, causing Nisreen Silmi, of al-Mayadeen News Agency, and Firas Tannina, of al-Manar News Agency, to suffer the effects of tear gas inhalation, while journalist Ali Dar Ali of Palestine TV, was shot with gas bombs and rubber-coated steel bullets in the head and limbs. In addition, the soldiers also shot journalist Mahmoud Fawzi, with a rubber-coated steel bullet, after the army assaulted the weekly procession in Kufur Qaddoum, near Qalqilia, in northern West Bank. In occupied Jerusalem, the Israeli army and police assaulted many journalists in Bab al-‘Amoud, causing various cuts and bruises. The soldiers also attacked and pushed many journalists in Hebron city, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank, and fired gas bombs and concussion grenades at them. Another journalist, a cameraman identified as Ahmad Hasaballah, suffered the severe effects of teargas inhalation, east of Gaza City. Thursday: 108 Wounded as Israeli Troops Attack Palestinian Protesters in Ten Cities December 8, 2017 12:38 PM Celine Hagbard Bethlehem, Hebron, Jerusalem, Jerusalem, News Report, Non-violent action, Ramallah, West Bank 0 08 Dec 12:38 PM The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that its medical teams treated 108 Palestinians for injuries from Israeli attacks on Palestinian protesters Thursday, including wounds received from live rounds. The medics treated wounded Palestinians who had participated in protests in Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Ramallah, Nablus, Tulkarem, Qalqilia, Jenin, Hebron, Khan Younis and central Gaza. In Nablus, more than 10,000 protesters took to the streets in several areas of the city and surrounding areas. 57 were wounded by invading Israeli forces in Huwwara, Beit Furiq, and Nablus city. 32 Palestinian protesters were wounded by Israeli troops in Tulkarem, in the northern part of the West Bank. Most were wounded by rubber-coated steel bullets fired at the demonstrators. 8 Palestinians were wounded in Qalqilia – three of whom were taken to the hospital after being hit by rubber-coated steel bullets. The others were treated at the scene. No injuries were reported in the town of Tubas, where massive protests also took place. In Bethlehem, thousands of people marched in the streets – dozens of people suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation, and five were hospitalized after having been hit by rubber-coated steel bullets. updated from: Protests across the West Bank and Jerusalem attacked by Israeli military; 50 injured Dec 8, 2017 @ 11:38 Following Donald Trump’s announcement Wednesday that Jerusalem is an Israeli city, effectively denying the rights of the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who have lived there since time immemorial, protests erupted in cities and towns across the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip. Israeli occupation forces responded to the protest marches and rallies with a massive military force, invading Palestinian neighborhoods and firing live ammunition, tear gas, rubber-coated steel bullets and other lethal and semi-lethal weapons at the demonstrators. At least fifty Palestinians have been injured by the Israeli military assaults on the largely non-violent protests. Nine of the injured were shot by live bullets fired by the Israeli military. In Ramallah, in the central West Bank, four protesters were shot with live rounds, and eight were wounded by rubber-coated steel bullets. Another five people were shot with live ammunition by the Israeli military in the Gaza Strip. The protests spontaneously erupted without prior organizing, following Trump’s announcement. Palestinian leaders called for three days of rage to protest the event, and Christian leaders in Bethlehem turned off the Christmas lights across the city and in Manger Square in protest. Protests took place in at least a dozen cities and towns. In Bethlehem, a young boy was treated for severe effects of tear gas inhalation. In addition, three people were injured by rubber-coated steel bullets, while another adult was hospitalized from tear gas inhalation. In Qalqilia district, in the northern part of the West Bank, five people were injured from the so-called ‘less-than-lethal’ weapons fired by the Israeli military. In Hebron, a large march took place consisting of thousands of people. Israeli troops attacked the march with tear gas, forcing the crowd to scatter. The soldiers then chased down youth, who began throwing stones at the invading military force. Three Palestinians were hospitalized. PCHR Weekly Report: 2 Dead, 6 Wounded by Israeli Forces This Week December 8, 2017 12:42 PM PCHR Gaza In its Weekly Report On Israeli Human Rights Violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territories for the week of 29 Nov. – 06 Dec. 2017, the Palestinian Center for Human Rights found that Israeli forces continued systematic crimes in the occupied Palestinian territories this week. A Civilian was killed by Israeli settlers in Qasrah village, southeast of Nablus. A child Succumbed to his wounds he sustained in the 2014 Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip. 8 civilians, including a child, were wounded in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Israeli attacks in the West Bank: Israeli forces wounded 5 Palestinian civilians in the West Bank while wounded 3 civilians, including a child and a woman, in the Gaza Strip. In the Gaze Strip, the Israeli warplanes carried out several airstrikes at military training sites of the Palestinian armed groups. As a result, Palestinian civilians sustained wounds in addition to material damage in the sites. The Israeli forces also continued to chase Palestinian fishermen in the Sea. In the same context, a civilian sustained a metal bullet wound to the back after Israeli forces moved into Qabatiyah village, southeast of Jenin, to demolish a house belonging to Mohammed Abu al-Rab, who is accused of carrying out a stab attack in Kafer Qasem in Israel on 04 October 2017. On 04 December 2017, 2 Palestinian civilians were wounded when dozens of Israeli settlers gathered at the eastern entrance to Qasrah village, southeast of Nablus, to raid a cave in Ras al-Nakhil Mount. Dozens of Palestinians gathered to prevent the settlers from raiding the cave, so the Israeli forces opened fire at Palestinians. As a result, 2 civilians were wounded. During the reporting period, Israeli forces conducted at least 75 military incursions into Palestinian communities in the West Bank while they conducted 15 incursions into Jerusalem and its suburbs. During those incursions, Israeli forces abducted at least 94 Palestinian civilians, including 20 children and a woman, in the West Bank. Twenty four of them, including 11 children and a woman, were abducted in Jerusalem and its suburbs. As part of the collective punishment policy applied by the Israeli forces against the Palestinian families of those accused of carrying out attacks against the Israeli forces and/or settlers, early on Friday, 01 December 2017, Israeli forces demolished a house belonging to Mohammed Zeyad Abu al- Rab in Qabatyah, southeast of Jenin. The one-story house established on an area of 140 square meters sheltered 5 individuals, including 3 children. It should be noted that, the Israeli forces accused Mohammed of carrying out a stabbing attack in Kafer Qasem in Israel on 04 October 2017 and killing an Israeli. As part of the house demolitions, on 05 December 2017, Israeli Municipality bulldozers demolished an under-construction building and a parking in Ras Shehadah area in Shu’fat refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem, under the pretext of building without a licence. The first floor of the building was supposed to be a garage for engineer ‘Essam Mohammed while the building would have sheltered About 50 persons. The residents of the area said that the Israeli forces intend to demolish 3 residential under-construction buildings in the abovementioned neighbourhood near the annexation wall. On 06 December 2017, Israeli Municipality crews accompanied with the Israeli police moved into Beir Ayoub, Wadi al-Helweh, and al-‘Abasiyah neighborhoods in Silwan village, south of the Jerusalem’s Old City. The municipality crews also fixed demolition order to a number of residential buildings. Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip: In the Gaza Strip, medical sources in the Gaza European Hospital in Khan Yunis announced on 06 December 2017, the death of Mohammed Abu Haddaf (9) from al-Qararah, northeast of the city. Mohammed’s Family said to PCHR’s fieldworker that on 08 August 2014, Mohammed sustained severe wounds after an Israeli warplane fired a missile at a gathering of civilians in Abu Haddaf neighbourhood in the village. As a result, 9 civilians, most of them were children, were killed and wounded. Mohammed was hit with shrapnel throughout his body and in his bone marrow, causing paralysation to Mohammed. His medical health condition was very bad from 2014, when he was wounded, until he died. In the same context, the border areas with Israeli witnessed protests against the ongoing and unjust Israeli closured against the Gaza population. During those protests, the Israeli forces used force against the protesters. As a result, a child was wounded, east of Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip. As part of Israeli air strikes, the Israeli warplanes carried out several airstrikes that targeted several military sites affiliated to Palestinian armed groups. As a result, 2 civilians, including a girl, were wounded and a number of roofs of houses and greenhouses sustained material damage. In the Gaza Strip, as part of targeting fishermen in the sea, PCHR monitored the Israeli naval forces’ escalation against fishermen in the Gaza Sea although it was announced that the Gaza fishermen are allowed to sail to 9 nautical miles instead of 6. This proves that the Israeli forces continue their policy of targeting fishermen in their livelihoods. During the reporting period, Israeli gunboats chased fishing boats and opened fire at them 14 times; 8 of them in the north-western Beit Lahia, 5 of them in the western Sudaniyah area, west of Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip, and one in the Gaza City Sea. As a result, 5 fishermen, including a child, were abducted but later released while their boat was confiscated. As part of targeting the border area, PCHR monitored the Israeli forces firing 10 shells and opening fire along the border fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel. The Israeli forces carried out one incident in the northern Gaza Strip, 2 incidents in Gaza City, 5 incidents in the central Gaza Strip, and 2 incidents in Khan Yunis. Israeli settlement activities: At approximately 11:00 on Thursday, 30 November 2017, a group of armed Israeli settlers moved into Ras al-Nakhil area, east of Qasrah village, southeast of Nablus. A settler opened fire at Mahmoud Ahmed Za’al ‘Oudah (48), who was working in his land. As a result, Mohammed sustained a live bullet wound to the right armpit. The bullet penetrated his heart and exited the left armpit. A number of the village residents rushed to the crime scene and attempted to save Mohammed’s life, but he died. Following that, clashes erupted between the settlers and the outraged residents. Thus, an Israeli force moved into the area to protect the settlers and opened fire at the residents. As a result, Fayez Fathi Darwish (47) was hit with shrapnel to the right knee. He was taken to Rafidiya Hospital in Nablus to receive medical treatment.’Ouda’s dead body was evacuated by an ambulance of Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) to one of the City’s hospitals. However, the Israeli forces stationed at Howarah checkpoint at the southern entrance to the city stopped the ambulance. The soldiers called for an Israeli ambulance that came and took the dead body to the Forensic Medicine Institute in Israel for anatomy. At approximately 17:00, a number of settlers protected by the Israeli forces gathered at the entrance to Qasrah eastern village, and provoked the residents. After that, a number of youngsters threw stones and empty bottles at the settlers and soldiers, who immediately opened fire at them. As a result, Amir Mo’tasem Mahmoud ‘Oudah (22) sustained a live bullet wound that settled in the pelvis. Amir was transferred via a PRCS ambulance to Rafidiya Hospital. When the ambulance left the village, the settlers threw stones at it. As a result, the glass of the left window broke down. At approximately 18:30 on Friday, 01 December 2017, the Israeli forces handed ‘Ouda’s dead body to a Palestinian ambulance at the intersection of Jeet village, northeast of Qalqiliyah. ‘Ouda was buried on Saturday, 02 December 2017, in the village cemetery. As part of the Israeli settlers’ attacks against Palestinian civilians and their property, on 30 November 2017, Israeli settlers attacked Asma’a Shoyoukhi (53) and her daughter Raghad (17) when they were in al-al-Sharaf neighborhood in Jerusalem’s Old City. As a result, they sustained bruises. Asma’a said to PCHR’s fieldworker that a number of settlers attacked her and her daughter and beat them with belts and a metal pole and verbally insulted them. The Israeli police abducted the abovementioned civilians on claims of attacking settlers. During their detention in al-Qeshlah police station, Asma’a asked the interrogator to check the surveillance cameras in the scene. After checking the cameras, it showed that Asma’a and her daughter are the ones who were attacked by the settlers. As part of the Israeli settlers’ attacks against Palestinian civilians and their property, on 30 November 2017, a group of Israeli settlers, some of them were armed, moved into Ras al-Nakhil area, east of Qasrah village, southeast of Nablus. One of them opened fire at a civilian, who was working in his land and shot him dead. Following this crime, the village residents detained the settlers in a cave in the area before the Israeli forces intervened and took them out. On 04 December 2017, a number of settlers gathered at the eastern entrance to the village, in response to calls from settlement organizations to be in the cave. Thus, dozens of the village residents gathered to prevent them from entering the cave. A number of Israeli soldiers stepped out of their vehicles and opened fire at the Palestinian civilians. As a result, 2 civilians were wounded and their wounds were classified as serious. On 30 November 2017, a group of settlers from so-called ‘pricetag’ groups from “Yitzhar” settlement protected by the Israeli forces attacked the south-eastern outskirts in ‘Asirah al-Qabliyah village, south of Nablus. Israeli attacks on non-violent demonstrations: Following Friday Prayer on 01 December 2017, dozens of Palestinian civilians, international human rights defenders and Israelis organized protests in Ni’lin and Bil’in villages, west of Ramallah, al-Nabi Saleh village, northwest of the city and Kafer Qadoum village, northeast of Qalqiliyah; in protest against the annexation wall and settlement activities. Israeli forces forcibly dispersed the protests, firing live and metal bullets, tear gas canisters and sound bombs. They also chased the protestors into the olive fields and between houses. As a result, many of the protesters suffered tear gas inhalation while others sustained bruises due to being beaten up by the Israeli soldiers Following the same Friday prayer, dozens of Palestinians from Kherbet Qalqas, east of Hebron organized a protest at the southern entrance to the village, which has been closed by the Israeli forces for 17 years, restricting the movement of the village residents. Large force of Israeli soldiers arrived at the area. When civilians attempted to move towards the sand barriers which close the road while raising the Palestinian flags and banners, the Israeli soldiers threatened to fire tear gas canisters at them if they did not leave the area that was announced as a closed military zone. Moreover, the Israeli forces detained press crews and prevented them from covering the incident until the end of the protest. However, no other incidents were reported. At approximately 13:30 on Friday, 01 December 2017, dozens of Palestinian youngsters made their way to the border fence between the Gaza Strip and Israel, east of al-Shuhada’a Cemetery, east of Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip, in protest against the Israeli closure imposed on the Gaza Strip. The youngsters approached the security fence and threw stones at the Israeli soldiers stationed along the border fence. The soldiers fired live bullets, rubber-coated metal bullets, and tear gas canisters at the protestors. As a result, a 16-year-old child from al-Sheja’eya neighborhood was hit with a live bullet that entered and exited the right foot. He was transferred by a PRCS ambulance to the Indonesian Hospital. His injury was classified as moderate. Recommendations to the International Community: Due to the number and severity of Israeli human rights violations this week, the PCHR made several recommendations to the international community. PCHR calls upon the international community to speed up the reconstruction process necessary because of the destruction inflicted by the Israeli offensive on Gaza.
