Violent clashes broke out Friday afternoon in Qaryout town, Nablus

Violent clashes broke out Friday afternoon in Qaryout town, south of Nablus, between Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) and local youths.

Local activist Bashar Qaryouti told a PIC reporter that the clashes erupted when several Israeli military vehicles stormed the town in the afternoon amid heavy firing of teargas bombs.

Earlier Friday, Israeli military officials threatened to arrest a number of local activists for their intention to film a documentary about settlement construction in their town.

Israeli occupation forces have recently intensified their break-ins into the town especially overnight under flimsy pretexts.

Thursday clashes

Violent clashes broke out Thursday between dozens of local youths and Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) at the western entrance to Beit Furik town, east of Nablus.

Local sources affirmed that the clashes broke out when Israeli forces suppressed a peaceful march commemorating the 12th anniversary of late Palestinian President Yasser Arafat’s death.

During the clashes, local youths set fire to tires near an Israeli military checkpoint erected at the entrance to the town and stoned a number of Israeli soldiers stationed in the area.

Israeli forces fired teargas bombs at the participants, the sources added.

The sources pointed out that Israeli forces and settlers were deployed in large numbers in the area since the morning hours.

Israeli occupation soldiers attack Palestinian young men with tear gas bombs in Ramallah

Several Palestinian young men suffered from inhaling tear gas during violent clashes on Thursday evening with Israeli occupation soldiers near the gate of Ofer military base, west of Ramallah city.

Local sources said that more troops were dispatched to the area of clashes to chase and capture young men.

They added that soldiers aboard vehicles chased the young men into the nearby town of Beitunia and arrested one of them before withdrawing.

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) carried out at dawn Friday a large-scale raid and arrest campaign throughout the West Bank. Six Palestinians were detained during the campaign.

A leader in Hamas Movement was among the six detainees.

Israeli media sources claimed that four “wanted” Palestinians were arrested Friday for being involved in anti-occupation attacks.

The leader in Hamas Movement Sheikh Nader Sawafta, 45, was arrested after Israeli forces broke into his house in Jenin.

The house was violently searched during the raid, family sources affirmed.

Sawafta, a candidate in the cancelled municipal election, spent more than 13 years in Israeli jails and was detained more than once in PA jails.

Also in Jenin, Israeli forces arrested a university student after storming his family house in Yabad town.

Local sources told the PIC reporter that ten Israeli military vehicles stormed Yabad town at dawn Friday and broke into a local house before arresting a young man.

A military checkpoint was also erected between Yabad and Zabouba towns.

Meanwhile, violent clashes broke out in Seelat al-Harithia town, west of Jenin, after Israeli forces stormed the town and detained and interrogated a number of local residents before being released.

Local youths responded by stoning Israeli forces who heavily fired teargas bombs and rubber bullets at the young men.

Similar raids were carried out in Nablus city where different homes were stormed and searched. A local resident was arrested during the raid.

In Qalqilia, Israeli forces stormed Azzun town amid heavy firing of teargas bombs after closing its main entrance.

Several locals were interrogated during the raid.

Israeli occupation government cancels travel permits for Palestinian elderly worshipers from the besieged Gaza Strip to Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem

The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) decided not to allow Palestinian elderly worshipers from the besieged Gaza Strip to travel to Jerusalem to attend the Friday khutba and prayer today, November 11.

The Israeli decision has excluded 100 employees working for the UNRWA in Gaza, according to a spokesman for the Palestinian General Authority of Civil Affairs (GACA).

The spokesman, Mohamed Maqadmeh, said the Israeli side informed the civil affairs authority in Gaza that it had cancelled the travel of 150 citizens from Gaza to Jerusalem on Friday.

The IOA claims it has taken this decision because the Gazan passengers are not committed to leaving Jerusalem for Gaza on the same day.

Every Friday, the IOA allows 250 Gazan over age 50 to visit the Old City of Jerusalem to pray at the Aqsa Mosque.

150 of these passengers enter Jerusalem in coordination with the GACA, while the UNRWA coordinates the travel of 100 others working for it in Gaza.

21 of the illegal Israeli settlers broke into the compound in two groups under full protection of Israel's special police forces

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC) + -

A group of illegal Israeli settlers stormed Thursday morning al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied Jerusalem in the latest incursion into one of the holiest sites in Islam.

At least 21 of the illegal Israeli settlers broke into the compound in two groups under full protection of Israel's special police forces.

The settlers performed Talmudic rituals in total provocation to Palestinian worshipers.

Meanwhile, heavily-armed Israeli Special Forces stormed the Mosque in order to pave the way for settlers’ provocative break-ins.

According to Israeli sources, 14,094 Israeli settlers stormed al-Aqsa from September 2015 to October 2016. 3,000 of them broke into the compound in October 2016.

The Islamic Waqf Department, which manages al-Aqsa Mosque affairs, held the Israeli authorities responsible for settlers’ incursions and reneging on international laws.

The Waqf Department stated that al-Aqsa Mosque is revered by more than 1.6 billion Muslims worldwide, and that the existing accords prohibit Jewish prayers inside the Mosque.

David Friedman is Trump’s prime candidate to take over the post of the US ambassador to Israel

Maariv newspaper has said that David Friedman, Donald Trump’s top adviser on Israeli affairs, is a prime candidate to take over the post of the US ambassador to Israel.

57-year-old Friedman, who works as a real estate and bankruptcy lawyer for Trump for long years, is an American Jew whose late father was the rabbi of Temple Hillel in North Woodmere and the president of the New York Board of Rabbis.

About six months ago, Trump appointed Friedman and Jason Greenblatt, another of his attorneys, as co-chairmen of his Israel advisory committee.

Friedman is positioned on the far right of the Israeli political map and considered more hardline in his views than Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu.

He has been a columnist for two Israeli right-wing English-language news outlets, Arutz Sheva and The Jerusalem Post. He also serves as president of American Friends of Bet El Institutions, which financially supports the settlement enterprise.

According to his views, the US must not impose any solutions on Israel or oppose its use of violent methods against the Palestinians to protect its citizens.

He considers Israel’s settlement activity (legal) and advocates all kinds (of illegal Israeli) settlement construction activity in the West Bank and east Jerusalem.

Medvedev visits Israel, offers mediation between Hamas and Israel over prisoner swap

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked Russia on Thursday for its readiness to provide assistance in the release of Israeli soldiers captured by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

"I would like to thank you for your readiness to assist in the matter of a primary humanitarian significance — return of the bodies of Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul, as well as three captives from Gaza," Netanyahu was quoted as saying, by the government press, at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev.

The Israeli occupation authorities believe that the bodies of the two Israeli soldiers, killed during the 2014 Israeli offensive on Gaza, have been held captive by Hamas in the blockaded Gaza Strip.

Hamas said it will only exchange the Israeli kidnapped soldiers for hundreds of Palestinians held in Israeli prisons.

Last April, spokesperson for the group’s armed wing—al-Qassam Brigades—showed a picture of four Israeli soldiers and said the armed wing will not reveal any further details about their fate and location until Israel frees all ex-prisoners (released in the Shalit swap deal) re-captured by its occupation troops.

Medvedev arrived in Occupied Jerusalem on Wednesday evening on a three-day visit aiming to boost bilateral ties with Israel.
