Palestinian Muslims Pray at Al-Aqsa Mosque Despite Israeli Restrictions, Clashes and Injuries by Israeli Occupation Soldiers in Various Cities

250,000 Muslims pray at Aqsa Mosque

June 25, 2016, OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

250,000 Muslim worshipers performed Friday’s noon prayers at the holy al-Aqsa Mosque despite the Israeli tight restrictions.

According to the Islamic Awqaf (Endowment) Department in Occupied Jerusalem, 250,000 worshipers prayed at al-Aqsa.

Thousands of worshipers from the occupied West Bank have flocked to the Mosque at the crack of dawn amid tight security measures imposed by the Israeli occupation army.

The Israeli soldiers reportedly banned Muslim men aged below 45 from entering Occupied Jerusalem. 

The occupation police also sealed off the main access roads to Occupied Jerusalem and banned buses from reaching the parks, resulting in a traffic jam. 

An Israeli surveillance balloon and a reconnaissance aircraft were seen hovering over the territory at the same time as dozens of Israeli cops were stationed across Occupied Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, a rally was staged near the Qibli Mosque by the families of eight Palestinian youths killed by the Israeli army to push for the release of their children’s bodies. 

The rally-goers called on the Israeli occupation to release the bodies of slain Palestinians, some among whom have been withheld for the ninth month running.

Palestinian anti-occupation youths also raised Hamas flags, expressing their unyielding support for armed resistance against the Israeli occupation.

 

Al-Aqsa preacher hails Palestinian Muslim worshipers for managing to perform Friday prayer at the Mosque despite the Israeli tight restrictions

Al-Aqsa Mosque’s preacher Sheikh Ikrema Sabri hailed Palestinian worshipers who managed to perform Friday prayer in the Mosque despite the Israeli tight restrictions.

"Your presence at al-Aqsa Mosque despite all these Israeli challenges and difficulties is a strong message to the occupier and to the world that we will never give up any inch of our holy site", he said during the Friday sermon.

He also stressed the importance of intensifying Palestinian presence in the Mosque especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

Sheikh Sabri denounced during the sermon the Israeli violations against Palestinians, mainly house demolition policy, confiscation policy, and tight restrictions in occupied Jerusalem.

Since Oslo accords, Israel has accelerated its systematic confiscation, settlement construction, and Judaization policy in occupied Jerusalem, he underlined.

Commenting on water poisoning, Sheikh Sabri warned that an Israeli rabbi issued a new edict calling for poisoning Palestinian potable water.

"How can we live or negotiate with such racist people", he wondered, calling on Palestinian residents to pay much attention.

He also condemned the Palestinian participation at the Herzl conference for Israeli national security and the election of Israel to head a UN international law committee.

Sheikh Sabri concluded by warning that al-Aqsa Mosque is still in danger as Israel continues its restrictions on people's movement, its excavations in the occupied city, and its attempts to change the status quo in the Mosque.

 

Palestinian woman shot dead near al-Khalil

June 25, 2016, AL-KHALIL, (PIC)--

Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) shot and killed a Palestinian woman Friday afternoon after she allegedly tried to ram her car into a number of Israeli settlers near the eastern entrance of Kiryat Arba in the eastern outskirts of al-Khalil. 

The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed the woman's death, identifying her as Majd al-Khadour. 

Israeli media sources said that a Palestinian woman was shot and killed after she allegedly carried out a car-ramming attack near the entrance of the illegal Israeli settlement of Kiryat Arba.

The two Israelis, reportedly a man and woman, were slightly injured during the alleged attack.

Witnesses said that they saw Israeli forces open heavy fire at a Palestinian female inside a red car at the entrance of Kiryat Arba, affirming that it was a car accident and not a premeditated attack.

Photos published by Israeli media show a red car badly damaged at its front in what appeared to be a collision, with several bullet holes through the windshield.

Palestinian Red Crescent affirmed that Israeli forces prevented its crews from providing any medical care to the Palestinian woman and left her to bleed to death.

Al-Khadour's killing came days after Israeli forces shot and killed a 15-year-old Palestinian child and seriously injured four other Palestinian teens while they were driving in their car. The Israeli army said that Mahmoud Badran was “mistakenly” shot and killed.

 

Injuries reported as clashes erupt near al-Khalil

June 25, 2016, AL-KHALIL, (PIC)--

A number of Palestinian youths were shot and injured at dawn Friday during clashes that erupted when Israeli occupation forces violently raided Yatta town, south of al-Khalil.

Local sources told Safa news agency that a youngster was injured and taken to hospital after receiving a rubber bullet, while 15 others suffered breathing difficulty during the clashes.

A number of local homes were also stormed and searched during the raid, including ex-prisoners’ houses.

During the clashes, the IOF soldiers heavily fired teargas bombs and rubber bullets.

 

Clashes erupt as IOF suppresses West Bank weekly marches

June 25, 2016, RAMALLAH, (PIC)--

Violent clashes broke out Friday afternoon across the West Bank after Israeli occupation forces brutally suppressed the Palestinian anti-occupation weekly marches.

Hundreds of locals and foreign activists participated in the West Bank weekly marches demanding an end to Israeli occupation and settlement construction.

In Ramallah, dozens of Palestinians marched in Bil’in town, east of the city, calling for an end to Israeli confiscation policy against their agricultural lands.

The participants held Palestinian flags and raised photos of the Palestinian child Mahmoud Badran who was shot and killed by Israeli forces few days ago.

The clashes broke out when IOF soldiers violently attacked the participants. No injuries or arrests were reported.

In Qalqilia, Israeli forces suppressed Kafer Qaddum village's weekly march that calls for the opening of a road closed by the IOF for more than 13 years.

Local activist Murad Shteiwi said that Israeli forces fired teargas bombs and rubber bullets at the participants. No injuries were reported.

 

Three Palestinians injured during IOF campaign in Dawha town

June 25, 2016, BETHLEHEM, (PIC)--

Three Palestinian young men suffered different injuries last night during clashes with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in Dawha town, west of Bethlehem city.

Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that a large number of Israeli soldiers aboard seven patrol vehicles stormed the town on Thursday night and embarked on searching homes and stores, and confiscating surveillance video recordings.

Consequently, violent clashes broke out between local young men and the occupation troops.

Three teenagers were reportedly injured when the soldiers fired live bullets and tear gas grenades during the events.

 

Rally in Bethlehem urging Israel to release bodies of slain youths

June 25, 2016, BETHLEHEM, (PIC)--

A rally was staged Thursday in the southern occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem to urge the Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) to release the bodies of slain Palestinian youths. 

The march kicked off from the Aida refugee camp, in northern Bethlehem. The rally-goers lifted Palestinian flags and photos of Palestinian youths killed by the Israeli occupation army.

The protesters called on the IOA to release the bodies of their slain children so that they can bid them last farewell and bury their bodies in Muslim cemeteries.

Speaking during the rally, the father of the slain youth Bahaa Alyan called for mobilizing mass participation in campaigns urging the release of dead bodies.

The bodies of eight Palestinian youths are still withheld in Israeli refrigerators despite an Israeli court verdict ruling for releasing the bodies by Ramadan month.

Several Palestinian youngsters were killed by Israeli bullet fire since the start of the anti-occupation Jerusalem Intifada, in early October.
