Eight Palestinians Injured In Gaza by Israeli Occupation Forces' Fire

Medical sources in the Gaza Strip have reported, Friday, that at least eight Palestinians were injured by Israeli occupation army fire, during clashes in different areas, close to the border fence in the Gaza Strip.


Dr. Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesperson of the Health Ministry in Gaza, said seven Palestinians were shot, including one who suffered a serious injury.

He added that clashes took place in the al-Farahin area, east of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, in addition to areas close to Nahal Oz crossing, east of Gaza, and Erez (Beit Hanoun) Terminal in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

The soldiers, stationed across the border fence, fired dozens of live rounds and gas bombs on the protesters, who hurled stones and empty bottles.

In related news, a Palestinian farmer was shot in his farmland, east of the Eastern Graveyard, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.

Medical sources said the soldiers shot the farmer in his leg as he was working on his land, and that he was moved to the Indonesian Hospital, suffering a moderate injury.

Israeli occupation soldiers storm Yabad town, attack residents

Several Palestinians suffered injuries during clashes with Israeli occupation soldiers on Friday evening in Yabad town, south of Jenin city.

Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that the confrontations started after an Israeli military force invaded the town and embarked on harassing its residents.

They added that the events were concentrated in al-Nab'ah area in the town, during which the invading troops intensively fired stun and tear gas grenades at local young men.

The sources affirmed that the local young men forced the soldiers to leave the area and withdraw to al-Sahal street, which the Israeli army had turned into a military post over a month ago.

Meanwhile, Israeli soldiers on the same day physically assaulted four Palestinian young men near al-Jalama crossing, north of Jenin.

The PIC was told that soldiers at the crossing detained and severally beat four young men near the crossing as they were herding them together into a nearby military post.

76 Palestinians injured in clashes with Israeli occupation forces in Gaza and occupied territories

76 Palestinians suffered different injuries on Friday during clashes with Israeli occupation soldiers and policemen in different flashpoint areas in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and Jerusalem, according to different media sources.

In Gaza, the clashes, which took place in different border areas to the east and north, led to the injury of seven young men, one of them seriously.

In the West Bank and Jerusalem, Palestinian young men clashed with Israeli military and security forces in 12 areas in Jerusalem, Ramallah, Bethlehem, al-Khalil, Qalqiliya and Salfit.

Red Crescent sources said that the violent events in the West Bank and Jerusalem led to the injury of 69 young men, 21 of them were wounded from either live or rubber bullets and 47 others suffered from inhaling tear gas.

Eyewitnesses reported that one Israeli soldier suffered an injury during the clashes in Issawiya district in east Jerusalem.

They said that the soldiers was injured in a Molotov cocktail attack on a military vehicle.

Gazan farmer injured by Israeli gunfire in Gaza

One Palestinian farmer was injured on Friday evening when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire at an agricultural area, north of the Gaza Strip.

Eyewitnesses told Quds Press that that Israeli soldiers opened machinegun fire from watchtowers near Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing, north of Gaza, at cultivated plots of lands, which caused one of the farmers there to suffer a bullet injury.

Medical sources affirmed that a farmer received treatment for a bullet injury in one of his legs.

In a separate incident, seven Palestinian young men on Friday afternoon suffered bullet injuries during clashes with Israeli soldiers in an eastern border area in Gaza, in the 17th week of al-Quds intifada (uprising).

A spokesman for the health ministry said that one of the young men suffered a serious bullet injury in the head and six others were wounded in their legs.

All the wounded were admitted to al-Shifa hospital in Gaza.

Thousands march in the funeral of the Qassam fighters

Tens of thousands of Palestinians marched in Gaza on Friday afternoon in the funeral procession of the seven Qassam Brigades fighters, who died in a collapse of a tunnel they were fixing in a border area.

Groups of resistance fighters gathered near the family homes of the martyrs before taking them to the Omari Mosque where Ismail Haneyya, deputy political bureau chairman of Hamas, delivered the Friday Khutba (sermon) then recited the final prayers for them

They were then taken in a massive funeral to be laid to rest. Observers at the scene estimated the number of those taking part in the procession to be at around quarter of a million.

Civil defense crews had exerted big efforts until they could retrieve the bodies from the collapsed tunnel on Thursday night.

The Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, had mourned the death of the seven members of its elite force after the tunnel they were maintaining collapsed over their heads due to bad weather conditions.

7 Palestinians kidnapped by Israeli troops in dawn sweep

Seven Palestinians were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Friday in mass abduction sweeps rocking the occupied West Bank and Occupied Jerusalem.

Local sources said the IOF rolled into Jenin province, in the northern occupied West Bank, and kidnapped two Palestinians.

A PIC news reporter said the IOF stormed Jenin at the crack of dawn and showered the city with randomly-shot spates of bullet fire and teargas canisters.

The IOF further raked through residential neighborhoods and wreaked havoc on the Jamal family home before they summoned the house owner for questioning at the Salem military camp.

The same sources added that the assault fell in line with the deployment of Palestinian Authority (PA) forces, loyal to Mahmoud Abbas, across the city.

The Israeli occupation troops also rolled into Jenin’s southern town of Qabatiya and kidnapped the youngster Ali Yussef Kameil after they ravaged his family home.

The IOF reportedly seized two civilian vehicles for public transportation of the Volkswagen brand in Bertaa village, to southwest of Jenin, and drove them to the 1948 Occupied Palestine without specifying the reasons for the move. 

Another young man was kidnapped by the occupation troops after they broke into his family home in Bethlehem’s Duheisheh refugee camp. 

Clashes reportedly burst out in the area shortly afterwards.

The IOF also kidnapped a Palestinian youth from Beit Awa town, in western al-Khalil.

The IOF further stormed the Quds Open University, in Jerusalem’s town of Abu Dis, and wreaked havoc on the campus, sparking violent clashes with Palestinian protesters.

The IOF attacked the Palestinian protesters with heavy barrages of bullet fire.

Haneyya: Al-Qassam Brigades builds tunnels to defend Gaza

Deputy head of Hamas's political bureau Ismail Haneyya has said that al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas has built tunnels to defend Gaza and use them as starting points for the liberation of all of Palestine.

Haneyya made his remarks during his Friday Khutba (sermon) at al-Omari Mosque, where tens of thousands of Palestinian citizens participated in the funeral prayer held for the seven fighters of al-Qassam Brigades, who died a couple of days ago inside a border tunnel.

Haneyya stated that Gaza has made great victories and achievements despite its modest capabilities, describing it as "unbreakable."

"Gaza, today, is bidding farewell to the martyrs of preparation and groundwork, who worked underground and painted the path to liberation," the Hamas official said.

He stressed that the truce with the Israeli occupation was never for relaxation but rather for getting prepared and possessing means of strength to confront the Israeli occupation forces in any coming battle.
