Israeli soldiers shot and killed, on Sunday at dawn, a Palestinian teen from Beit Rima town, northwest of Ramallah, in the occupied West Bank, after several military vehicles invaded the town leading to clashes with dozens of local youngsters. The Palestinian Health Ministry has reported that the slain teen has been identified as Ahmad Hazem Ata Rimawi, 19, from Beit Rima. It added that Rimawi was shot with several live rounds, including a bullet that was lodged in his heart, and died from his serious wounds while being rushed to Yasser Arafat Hospital in Salfit, in central West Bank. Head of the local village council Aref Daraghma said the occupation army forced Palestinians out of their homes in Wad Ibziq area, in the northern Jordan Valley, in preparation for Israeli military maneuvers in the area. Daraghma said the Palestinian natives of the area have been subjected to arbitrary demolitions, confiscation of agricultural equipment, forced displacement, and mass evacuation orders slapped by the occupation army on a permanent basis. According to the activist, at least 200 Palestinian families have been evacuated out of their homes in the northern Jordan Valley since the start of December and under the same pretext. He further spoke out against the serious damage inflicted by such Israeli military drills in the area as the occupation army often overuses heavy arms, machineguns, and shells during the maneuvers damaging cultivated land lots in the process. At the same time, the Israeli occupation forces announced their decision to carry out large-scale military drills for three days in Ashkelon city, near to the blockaded Gaza Strip, as of Tuesday evening. The Israeli Channel 7 quoted the army’s spokesman as stating that the drills make part of a preplanned training scheme. Air raid sirens were, meanwhile, sounded Tuesday morning as part of an Israeli Home Front Command drill in the HaSharon region, in 1948 Occupied Palestine. The drills make part of emergency-response maneuvers. According to eyewitnesses, three Israeli army patrols rolled into Beit Dajan’s eastern corners, adjacent to the illegal Israeli settlement of Elon Moreh, which was built on Palestinian lands in the area. The occupation troops raked through Palestinian cultivated lands and have been stationed on an agricultural road opened by local authorities. The IOF soldiers have been chasing down vehicles and staff members of Beit Dajan village council in an attempt to thwart a project started by the Land Research Center to reclaim Palestinian land lots. Three towns in al-Khalil mourned on Saturday (December 17, 2016) morning four slain Palestinians after their bodies were released from Israeli morgues WEST BANK, (PIC) + - Three towns in al-Khalil mourned on Saturday (December 17, 2016) morning four slain Palestinians after their bodies were released from Israeli morgues on Friday. Hundreds of people in Beit Naim town marched this morning in the funerals of Sara Tarayra and Firas Khadour, while the martyr Mohamed Sararhin was buried in his home town of Beit Ula to the west of al-Khalil. Along the same line, hundreds of local residents took part in the funeral of Khaled Bahar in Beit Ummar after declaring three days mourning. The mourners held banners and chanted slogans demanding revenge and an immediate response to Israeli crimes. Following the funeral, violent clashes broke out in the town with Israeli occupation forces (IOF) amid heavy use of teargas bombs and rubber bullets. Firas Khadour was killed on Sep. 16, after IOF soldiers opened fired on the 18-year-old and his 18-year-old relative Raghad Khadour after the two allegedly attempted to carry out a car ramming attack, killing Fares instantly and critically injuring Raghad, who was hospitalized for weeks and later released after the accusation against both proved to be false. On July 1, Israeli forces shot dead 27-year-old Sarah Tarayra, who was pregnant, after she allegedly attempted to carry out a stabbing attack against border police officers near the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil. On the same day, 30-year-old Mohamed Sararhin was killed after succumbing to gunshot wounds sustained earlier in the day when Israeli forces raided the village of Beit Ula and opened live fire on him. Along the same line, Israeli forces killed 15-year-old Khaled Bahar on Oct. 20 in the town of Beit Ummar for being allegedly involved in a rock-throwing incident. In Nablus, thousands of Palestinians mourned the female martyr Rahiq Birawi, 23, who was killed on Oct. 19 at Hawara checkpoint. Birawi was shot more than 30 times by four Israeli border police officers after she allegedly approached an officer with a knife. No Israelis were injured. Since the outbreak of Jerusalem Intifada in October 2015, 243 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers. Rights groups have repeatedly condemned the Israeli "shoot-to-kill" policy against Palestinians who did not constitute a threat at the time of their death or who could have been subdued in a non-lethal manner. *** Share the link of this article with your facebook friendsFair Use Notice This site contains copyrighted material the
