Palestinian Infant suffocates in Israeli pepper spray attack in Silwan

Tuesday, August 9, 2016, OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

An eight-month-old Palestinian female infant suffered from inhaling pepper spray during an Israeli police raid on Monday evening on her parents' house in Silwan district, east Jerusalem.

Local sources said that Israeli police troops stormed several homes in Batten al-Hawa neighborhood of Silwan district, south of the Aqsa Mosque.

They added that the pepper spray attack happened when the troops broke into and ransacked the house of Jadallah al-Rajabi,

They explained that the troops sprayed pepper at members of the family during their presence in the house, which led eight-month-old Asya al-Rajabi to suffer from suffocation.

The infant was rushed to a medical center in Ein Loza neighborhood.

The father of the infant said he was handed a summons for interrogation at a police station in the holy city

In a separate incident, the Israeli police on the same day stormed and ransacked the house of Ismail al-Abbasi in Ras al-Amud neighborhood of Silwan district, without making any arrest.

Police troops also raided stores in Silwan, took photos of their signboards and closed the main street for some time.

Meanwhile, four Palestinian citizens from Jerusalem, including a child, were physically assaulted and then arrested yesterday by policemen near al-Maghariba Gate in the Old City.

The detainees were taken to a police station in the Old City. Their identities are not yet known. 9-8-2016 2:56 PM

14 Palestinians kidnapped in W. Bank IOF campaigns

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Monday kidnapped 14 Palestinians from their homes in different West Bank areas.

A report released by the Israeli army said that its forces arrested 14 wanted Palestinians in the West Bank, 11 of them accused of being involved in activities against the army and settlers.

According to the report, the IOF arrested seven Palestinians from Deir Abu Mash'al town near Ramallah and one Hamas activist in Qibya village, northwest of Ramallah.

Six others, including two from Hamas, were taken prisoners during IOF campaigns in the towns of Dura, Beit Ummar and Beit Awwa.

For its part, Quds Press reported that the IOF stormed Qarawat Bani Hassan town near Salfit and handed ex-detainee Ramzi Mar'ie a summons for interrogation from the Shin Bet. He was released about two months ago after he completed 14 years in prison.

According to Quds Press, an Israeli military force raided the house of journalist Qais Abu Samra, who works for Anadolu news agency, in Sanniriya village near Qalqilya and questioned him about the nature of his job and his position on the coup attempt and related events in Turkey.

A print press in Halhoul town north of al-Khalil was also raided by a group of Israeli troops, who confiscated some of its equipment.

In Nablus, Israeli soldiers occupied at dawn several neighborhoods of Aqraba town for a while and then withdrew without making arrests.

The IOF also imposed a curfew last night on Huwara town, south of Nablus.

Israeli police close educational consulting institution in Jerusalem

The Israeli occupation police on Sunday closed the headquarters of Sa'ed Educational Consulting Foundation in Occupied Jerusalem for one year on allegations of its support for terrorist activities.

The Israeli police summoned head of the foundation Sheikh Jamil al-Hamami and handed him a closure order against the foundation signed by their commissioner Roni Alsheikh.

Sheikh Hamami denounced the Israeli closure of an institution providing educational consultation for teachers, pointing out that a similar measure was taken against the foundation three years ago.

The Israeli police recently raided the Beit Hanina house of Sheikh Hamami, who is banned from entering the West Bank and traveling abroad.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Demolish A Restaurant And A Porcelain Workshop, Near Nablus

Israeli occupation soldiers, accompanied by military bulldozers, invaded earlier on Tuesday at dawn, the town of Sabastia, north of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and demolished a restaurant and a porcelain workshop.

Nael Sha’er, the head of Sabastia Local Council, said the soldiers demolished a restaurant, owned by resident Nael Aqel, and a Porcelain workshop, owned by Ahmad Thiab Aqel, near the archeological Palestinian area.

The army said the constructions are located in Area C, under full Israeli military and administrative control.

Sha’er added that the soldiers imposed curfew on the entire area, and prevented the Palestinians from leaving their homes.

On Monday, the army forced a Palestinian to demolish his shed and barn under the same allegations, in Sebastia.

In addition, the soldiers have kidnapped, at dawn Tuesday, four Palestinians from their homes, in a number of towns in the Hebron district, in the southern part of the West Bank, and demolished five residential sheds, Um al-Kheir village, east of Yatta town, south of Hebron.

Also on Tuesday at dawn, the army invaded the Deheishe refugee camp, south of Bethlehem, kidnapped a former political prisoner, and injured seven Palestinians.

Israeli Occupation Soldiers Demolish Five Residential Sheds Near Hebron

A number of Israeli occupation forces' military jeeps and bulldozers invaded, on Tuesday at dawn, Um al-Kheir village, east of Yatta town, south of the southern West Bank city of Hebron, and demolished five residential sheds.

Rateb Jabour, the coordinator of the National and Popular Committees against the Annexation Wall and Colonies in the southern part of the West Bank, said the soldiers surrounded the village before invading it.

He added that the five sheds were located close to the Carmiel illegal colony, built on private Palestinian property.

The demolished residential sheds belong to several members of the al-Hathaleen family, and have been previously demolished eight times.

Israel is frequently trying to displace the villagers in order to replace the indigenous Palestinians, to expand illegal nearby colonies.

Um al-Kheir, a small Palestinian Bedouin community, was built by the residents under funding from the European Union.

It is worth mentioning that the soldiers have kidnapped, at dawn, four Palestinians from their homes, in a number of towns in the Hebron district.

Also on Tuesday at dawn, the army invaded the Deheishe refugee camp, south of Bethlehem, kidnapped a former political prisoner, and injured seven Palestinians.

Israeli Occupation Army Kidnaps Four Palestinians In Hebron

The Hebron office of the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS), in the southern part of the occupied West Bank, has reported that Israeli occupation soldiers have kidnapped, on Tuesday at dawn, four Palestinians in a number of towns in the district.

The PPS said several Israeli occupation army vehicles invaded Sa’ir town, east of Hebron, searched homes and kidnapped a young man identified as Najeeb Kawazba.

It added that the soldiers also kidnapped a young man, identified as Monther Abu Warda, from his home in the al-Fawwar refugee camp, south of Hebron.

The soldiers also searched homes in Doura town, southwest of Hebron, and kidnapped Tha’er Mohammad Nassar.

Another Palestinian, identified as Mohammad No’man Za’aqeeq, was kidnapped from his home in Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron after the soldiers violently searched his home and several nearby homes.

Also on Tuesday at dawn, the army invaded the Deheishe refugee camp, south of Bethlehem, kidnapped a former political prisoner, and injured seven Palestinians.

Israeli Occupation Army Injures Seven Palestinians, Kidnaps One, In Bethlehem

Israeli occupation soldiers invaded, on Tuesday at dawn, the Deheishe refugee camp, south of Bethlehem, kidnapped a former political prisoner from his home and injured seven Palestinians during ensuing clashes.

Local sources said the soldiers broke into and searched several homes, including the home of former political prisoner, Nidal Naim Abu Aker, 48, and abducted him.

The invasion led to clashes between the soldiers and dozens of local youths, who hurled stones and empty bottles at the military vehicles, while the army fired dozens of live rounds, gas bombs, and concussion grenades.

It is worth mentioning that Abu Aker previously spent eleven years imprisoned in Israeli detention centers under arbitrary Administrative Detention orders without charges or trial. He was released some months ago after holding an extended hunger strike.

24 female activists to sail for Gaza next month to break the Israeli siege

August 7, 2016, LONDON, (PIC)--

Head of Miles of Smiles aid convoys 'Isam Yousef expects that around 24 female activists are likely to be aboard the boats, "Amal and Zaytouna," slated to set sail for the besieged Gaza Strip next month.

In press remarks on Sunday, Yousef called for necessarily initiating popular events in support of the women's boats to Gaza under the slogan "Break the siege with your hands."

He also called for supporting these renewed efforts to break the siege financially, spiritually and politically.

The Gaza-bound boats will leave Barcelona in Spain on September 14, with an all-woman crews on board in order to challenge and break the illegal and inhuman Israeli blockade.

On September 12, 13 and 14, there will be various events in the Port of Barcelona related to the departure of the boats to Gaza.

Israeli settler gangs storm Aqsa Mosque, guard kidnapped

August 7, 2016, OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

Hordes of fanatic Israeli settlers stormed on Sunday morning the holy al-Aqsa Mosque via the Maghareba Gate.

The break-in was carried out under heavy shield by Israeli occupation policemen and special intervention troops.

The Israeli assailants performed sacrilegious rituals and yelled anti-Muslim slogans.

The peaceful Muslim worshipers kept chanting “Allah is the Greatest” in protest at the break-in.

A member of the al-Aqsa supervision staff was kidnapped by the occupation forces during the assault.

The guard, identified as Luay Abu al-Saad, was kidnapped from the Asbat Gate on his way to his workplace at al-Aqsa Mosque.

Abu Saad was deliberately hit by an Israeli electric tractor in Ramadan month and was rushed to hospital for urgent treatment.

Meanwhile, a group of Muslim women maintained vigil outside of al-Aqsa in protest at being banned from entering the site.

9-year-old disabled child injured, others kidnapped in Israeli assaults

Several Palestinian civilians were kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) and a nine-year-old disabled child was left injured at dawn Sunday in abrupt sweeps launched across the West Bank and Jerusalem.

The Israeli occupation army claimed responsibility for the abduction of five Palestinians from the southern West Bank and Jerusalem at predawn time on allegations of involvement in anti-occupation activism.

Reporting from al-Khalil, a PIC journalist said an Israeli special unit kidnapped the ex-prisoner Dhiaa Ismail Muslameh, 21, from al-Khalil’s southwestern town of Beit Awa, after Palestinian Authority forces had chased him in the afternoon.
Musalmeh, a student at the Polytechnic University, had reportedly spent 28 months in Israeli jails.

The IOF soldiers further kidnapped 18-year-old Muntaser Naser Muslameh from the area after they wreaked havoc on his family home.

Two youngsters and an elderly citizen were, meanwhile, kidnapped by the IOF from al-Khalil’s southern corners.

According to the PIC news correspondent, the nine-year-old disabled child Youssef Abdul Rahman al-Rajabi was aggressively attacked by Israeli settler gangs near the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil.

At the same time, a military checkpoint was pitched by the IOF near the entrances to al-Dhahriya, the Fawar refugee camp, and al-Samou’ village.

Youssef Sayel Issa, 26, was also kidnapped by the Israeli soldiers after they rummaged into his family home in Bethlehem’s southern town of al-Khader.

Montasser Ibrahimi Issa, 22, was summoned to questioning in the Etzion camp.

The IOF also kidnapped the youngster Muneer Muhammad Shanayteh from Bethlehem’s eastern corners.

The occupation troops have tightened military grip around Bethlehem’s eastern villages, blockaded by the Israeli army for the third week running.

The Palestinian Liaison said the IOF soldiers have sealed off six roads with concrete blocks and two more roads with sand barriers.

Over recent weeks, abrupt sweeps have been launched by the occupation troops across the area under the pretext that Israeli settlers residing in illegal settlement outposts were subjected to an anti-occupation shooting attack. Several surveillance cameras were seized from the area on the same allegations.

Civilians stranded as Israel seals off Nablus-Salfit access road

Several Palestinians have been stranded as the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Sunday closed the Nablus-Salfit Road, to the west of the Zaatara military checkpoint, without prior notification.

A PIC journalist quoted eyewitnesses as saying that they were shocked as they caught sight of the mounds of sand barriers and roadblocks thrown by the occupation troops on the access road linking Nablus and Salfit provinces.

Several Palestinians could not reach their workplaces while others could not get into their homes due to the abrupt closure.

Observers said the move makes part of the daily crackdowns perpetrated by the Israeli occupation army against Palestinians living in the occupied territories.
