IOF storm house of Tel Aviv stabber
November 20, 2015, AL-KHALIL, (PIC)--
Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) Thursday evening stormed,
searched and wreaked havoc in the house of Raed Mahmoud al-Masalma who
carried out an anti-occupation stabbing operation in Tel Aviv.
Local sources revealed that storming of the house immediately
followed the announcement of the stabber’s identity. The forces detained
a number of Palestinian youths in Ras al-Amoud neighborhood to the west
of Doura town in al-Khalil, questioned some of them and surrounded the
nearby districts.
The PIC reporter said Israeli soldiers besieged the house and
threatened to demolish it and expel its residents to Jordan. The IOF
soldiers were deployed along the main road connecting Doura town to the
adjacent village of Deirsamit.
Illegal Israeli settlers storm al-Aqsa Mosque, police bar
women from access
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--
Israeli extremist settlers, who live illegally on Palestinian lands,
on Thursday morning broke into the plazas of al-Aqsa Mosque, in
Occupied Jerusalem, under heavy police escort. Palestinian women were
barred from entry.
According to Quds Press, 23 Israeli settlers
stormed al-Aqsa Mosque via the Maghareba Gate. Israeli Police Special
Forces secured settlers during their rounds.
Meanwhile,
Palestinian women got gathered at al-Silsilah and Hutta gates in protest
against barring them from accessing the Mosque for the pretext of being
blacklisted by Israeli police.
Palestinians intensified their
presence at the Aqsa Mosque in the early morning hours for attending
Quranic lessons and for the confrontation of settlers’ ceaseless
incursions into the Muslims’ holy site.
DCI: 16 Children Killed in 3 Weeks
Friday November 20, 2015 01:45 by IMEMC News & Agencies
Defense for Children International – Palestine has confirmed that
Israeli forces have killed 16 Palestinian children in separate incidents
across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem and the Gaza
Strip, since the beginning of October.
The number of Palestinian
children who have killed since the beginning of this year amounts to 21,
Al Ray reports.
DCI-Palestine confirmed that 16 Palestinian
children were killed between October 5 to November 10, 14 of whom were
killed by live fire.
The movement reported that Israeli
occupation authorities are still holding the bodies of six children who
have been identified as Eshaq Badran, Mustafa al- Khateeb, Hasan
Manasrah, Mutaz Auwesat, Ahmed Aburub and Sadeq Ghurebia.
It was
also documented that Israeli forces killed three children in one day
(October 17): Tareq Annatsha, Bayan Asaliya and Mutaz Auwesat.
272 children were also reported injured by Israeli forces, since the
beginning of October.
The director of investigation for
DCI-Palestine, Aayd Abu Qutesha, refuted the claims of Israeli
soldiers who said that these children were killed for carrying out
stabbing attacks, explaining that the military could use alternate
methods without resorting to live fire. He added that this type of
killing is considered extrajudicial.
He pointed out that seizing
the bodies of the children is, in fact, a collective punishment against
their families, who were also deprived the right to anatomize their
bodies.
Police: 2 Israelis Dead, 2 injured in Tel Aviv Stabbing
Attack
Friday November 20, 2015 01:28 by IMEMC News & Agencies
Two Israelis were reported killed and two injured, on Thursday, in a
stabbing attack in southern Tel Aviv, according to Israeli police and
medics.
Israeli police spokesperson, Luba al-Samri, said that a
stabbing attack took place inside of the Panorama building, on Ben Tsavi
street in the city, leaving a 20-year-old Israeli dead at the scene.
An Israeli who was critically injured died shortly after in Tel
Aviv’s Ichelov hospital, al-Samri said, according to Ma'an News Agency.
Two others were moderately wounded during the attack, said Israeli
emergency services Magen David Adom.
Israeli police said that the
suspect attempted to enter a synagogue inside the building, but was
stopped by civilians.
Two different suspects are believed to have
stabbed the Israelis, one of whom was a Palestinian from Dura who was
captured by Israeli civilians, the police spokesperson said.
Locals identified the attacker as Raed Mohammad Jabara al-Masalma, from
Beit Awwa village, west of Hebron.
The police detained the
suspect, who was moderately injured when the forces arrived to the
scene, al-Samri added.
Another suspect reportedly fled the scene,
according to witnesses, al-Samri said, adding that the incident was
"under investigation".
Israeli media reported that the
Palestinian suspect received a permit to enter Israel a month ago.
A series of attacks have been carried out by Palestinian individuals
on Israeli military and civilians since the beginning of last month,
leaving at least 15 Israelis dead.
Shooting in Gush
Etzion: 1 Palestinian, 2 Israelis Killed; Palestinian Death Toll Rises
to 91
Friday November 20, 2015 00:43 by IMEMC News
Palestinian dies of wounds suffered in separate incident
The Palestinian military liaison (D.C.O.) has received the body of
Shadi Zuhdi 'Arafa, aged 28, from Hebron who was shot dead by Israeli
forces today, at Gush Etzion junction.
According to Hebron-based reporter, Bassam Shweiki, the soldiers
invaded the home of Mohammad Abdul-Baset al-Hroub, in Beit Awwa town,
south of Hebron, violently searched it and caused excessive damage,
while kidnapping one Palestinian.
The army claims that al-Hroub
carried out an attack which led to the death of two Israeli settlers in
the Etzion area, Thursday evening.
The two Israelis who were
killed by live fire were identified, by Israeli media, as "an
18-year-old American citizen and 49-year-old Yaakov Don." Only hours
before the incident, two Israelis were killed and another two injured
during a stabbing attack in southern Tel Aviv.
'Arafa was said to
be, merely by coincidence, near the place where a Palestinian gunman
fired at Israeli settlers, hitting more than 10 of them and killing two
of them, upon which Israeli soldiers began to shoot randomly towards
Palestinian vehicles.
Israeli media said that, after the initial
bullets were fired, the suspect "continued driving and rammed into
another vehicle", opening fire again before being shot.
An
Israeli spokesperson claimed, at first, that "the perpetrators" were
three Palestinians; one of them was killed while "it seems", she said,
one of them was taken into custody after being injured, while the third
drove away in his car.
According to Shweiki, the Israelis claimed
that the gunman exited a vehicle occupied by Palestinian resistance
members and, afterward, fled with the car, while 'Arafa was shot while
in his car, and then removed from it by the soldiers.
Shweiki
points out that the move was obviously a blunder on the part of the
military, as they immediately handed his body over to the D.C.O.,
knowing that he was not a part of the incident.
Later reports
stated that the two other "suspects" were arrested by Israeli forces.
In related news, Mahmoud Sa'id 'Oleyyan (22) died today, of
serious wounds suffered ten days ago, after being shot in al-Biereh,
near Ramallah, during clashes with invading soldiers.
According
to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the death of Oleyyan brings the
number of Palestinians slain (since October) in the West Bank to 72, and
18 in Gaza, and 1 in the Negev Desert.
Clashes break out throughout al-Khalil
November 20, 2015, AL-KHALIL, (PIC)--
Violent clashes broke out at dawn Friday south of al-Khalil as
Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) stormed Dura town.
Local sources
said that IOF heavily fired tear gas bombs and rubber bullets at
Palestinian homes in Tabaka and Kharssa villages, which led to the
outbreak of the clashes.
Local youths used stones and empty
bottles to defend themselves in face of the Israeli invading soldiers.
The clashes lasted for more than three hours amid intensive presence
of Israeli forces.
Eyewitnesses said that Israeli forces closed
all main entrances and roads leading to the southern towns and villages
of al-Khalil.
IOF also erected several make-shift checkpoints
throughout the towns and prevented the Palestinian residents’ movement
in addition to stopping and searching the passing-by vehicles.
The Israeli restrictions came as thousands of Palestinians participated
in the funeral of Shadi Arafa who was shot and killed by Israeli forces
near Gush Etizon after carrying out a stabbing attack.
IOF opens fire at the southern area of Gaza Strip
GAZA, (PIC)--
The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) opened machine-gun fire Friday
morning at Palestinian homes in southern Gaza Strip.
The PIC
reporter said that the IOF soldiers stationed at the border fence east
of Khan Younis city in southern Gaza opened heavy fire at the citizens’
homes in al-Qarara town, northeast of the city.
No injuries were
reported during the Israeli shooting attack.
Israeli violations
of the ceasefire agreement reached on August 26 last year between
Palestinian resistance and Israeli occupation authorities under Egyptian
auspices have notably increased.
Israeli troops aggressively disband Palestinian protesters
JENIN, (PIC)--
The Israeli occupation troops afternoon Thursday rolled into Jenin’s
western town of Zabouba and aggressively attacked the unarmed
Palestinian protesters, resulting in a number of injuries.
A PIC
news correspondent quoted local sources as stating that five Israeli
army jeeps deployed at the Salem military camp rolled into Zabouba town
and sealed it off with a makeshift roadblock on allegations that stones
were hurled at the occupation soldiers.
Heavily-armed Israeli
troops broke into the family home of the citizen Imad Abu Zaytoun and
subjected the owner, along with a number of native youths, to exhaustive
interrogation.
Violent clashes burst out across the town’s alleys
and access roads following the assault, culminating in heavy spates of
rubber bullets and tear gas canisters.
A number of Palestinian
protesters sustained critical breathing disorders due to heavy
inhalation of tear gas.
Israeli abduction sweep rocks al-Khalil at crack of dawn
AL-KHALIL, (PIC)--
Scores of Palestinian civilians were kidnapped in an arbitrary
mass-abduction sweep launched by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF)
across the southern West Bank district of al-Khalil at the crack of dawn
on Friday.
Local sources said a heavily-armed Israeli patrol
rolled into al-Khalil’s southern town of Beit Awa at dawn and kidnapped
three Palestinian youths.
The IOF also rolled into Dura town and
wreaked havoc on civilian homes before they kidnapped 60-year-old
anti-occupation activist Hussein and another citizen, identified as
Yasser Amr.
An alleged stabber’s father and brother were also
kidnapped by the occupation soldiers from their own family home in Deir
Samet.
The IOF further stormed Halhul town and rummaged into
Palestinian family homes.
The campaign was carried out a few
hours after the Israeli cabinet, on Thursday evening, approved calls to
prop up military deployment across al-Khalil city in an attempt to chase
down anti-occupation activists.
Meanwhile, youngster Muhammad Abu
al-Hams was kidnapped by the IOF from his family home in Occupied
Jerusalem’s village of al-Issawiya.
800 children among 2,000 Palestinians arrested since outbreak
of intifada
RAMALLAH, (PIC)--
Over 2,000 Palestinians, including 800 children and 60 women, have
been kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) since the outbreak
of the ongoing Jerusalem Intifada, in early October, a rights group
reported.
Media spokesman for the Palestinian Prisoners Center
for Studies, Riad al-Ashqar, said in a press statement that the
arbitrary abduction campaign launched by the IOF since early October
affected all social and age categories, including children, women,
patients, injured civilians, MPs, university students, and academics.
Occupied Jerusalem and al-Khalil have hit a record high of,
respectively, 600 and 500 in the number of arrest cases.
150
Palestinians were arrested in 1948 Occupied Palestine; 250 were arrested
in Ramallah and al-Bireh while 100 others were arrested in Bethlehem.
MPs Hassan Youssef and Abdul Jabeur Foukaha were also arrested in
the campaign.
Al-Ashqar added that most of the kidnapped children
were aged 10 or below.
Children as young as seven have also been
affected by the arbitrary abductions. Seven-year-old Mohamed Abdullah
Shweiki and the two brothers Mo’atassem, to name just a few, are among
the youngest victims of the Israeli sweep.
Several children,
including 12-year-old Ali Ihab Alkam, were kidnapped right after they
were shot and injured by the Israeli occupation troops on allegations of
involvement in anti-occupation stabbing attacks.
60 among the
arrested children have been crammed into the newly-opened Jafon lock-up,
where hygienic conditions have been very poor, to say the least.
The center further documented 235 new or renewed administrative
prison-terms. 12 children and two 19-year-old girls have been
transferred to administrative detention, with neither charge nor trial.
30 Jerusalemites were also affected by this type of sentences, bringing
the overall number of administrative detainees during the month of
October to over 500.
Palestinian schoolchildren appeal to IOA to restore their
bags
RAMALLAH, (PIC)--
Some 230 Palestinian schoolchildren have appealed to the Israeli
occupation authorities (IOA) to restore the bags of which they were
robbed right after their detention in early October.
Head of the
Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) in al-Khalil, Amjad al-Najar, said in
a press statement: “Scores of newly-released children, along with their
families, appealed to the PPS to retrieve their bags.”
“We’ve got
used to appeals to restore prisoners’ money, IDs, or mobile devices. But
the day has come when children are demanding their schoolbags,” al-Najar
stated.
He spoke out against the personal and intellectual
repercussions of such Israeli policies on the children’s psyche and
career.
He further warned of the arbitrary interrogation
summonses frequently issued by the IOA against Palestinian children and
the prerequisite to have those very children handed to Israeli
investigation centers by their parents.
“The intent is just as
clear as daylight: The IOA aims at distorting image of the father and
mother as their child’s source of protection and bulletproof vest,” he
said, calling on Palestinian families to never yield in to such
malevolent schemes.
