Palestinian youth wounded in IOF shooting

GAZA, (PIC)--

A Palestinian citizen was wounded in Israeli army shooting during an incursion into southern Gaza Strip on Wednesday morning.

Medical sources told the PIC reporter that 25-year-old Saleh al-Farra suffered a superficial bullet wound to the head.

Israeli occupation forces fired at random on their withdrawal from eastern Khan Younis wounding the young man, the sources said.

Jewish settlers set Palestinian crops on fire

AL-KHALIL, (PIC)--

Jewish settlers from Kiryat Arba settlement in al-Khalil set Palestinian crops on fire on Wednesday morning.

A local source told the PIC reporter that the settlers started fire in wheat and barley fields near the bypass road under Israeli army protection.

Areas close to the bypass road are targets of regular attacks by settlers in an attempt to annex them to the settlement.

IOF demolishes 20 Palestinian facilities in Jordan Valley

NABLUS, (PIC)--

Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) accompanied by military bulldozers stormed on Wednesday Jeftlek village, north of the Jordan Valley, and demolished 20 Palestinian facilities including tents and sheds.

The IOF soldiers demolished sheds and tents belonging to Duayis family, local sources reported.

IOF soldiers deported many Palestinian families living in the village from their homes under the pretext of being located in area C.

6 homes and 12 sheds were demolished this morning, which led to the displacement of 50 family members, Aref Daraghmeh, a local leader, told the PIC reporter.

Israeli Occupation Army Demolishes Several Palestinian Shops in Occupied Jerusalem

The Israeli occupation army has bulldozed a number of shops in the al-Khalileh neighborhood, near the village of al-Nabi Samwill, in Jerusalem.

Ismaeil Abu-Rbah, the head of neighborhood, said that Israeli forces raided the neighborhood, closing its main entrances before demolishing several shops, adding that the Israeli army has, so far, demolished two shops and are, at the moment, evacuating others in order to demolish them.

According to the PNN, Israeli soldiers have been present in the area for a while now, blocking off access to parts of the neighborhood, in addition to cutting off basic goods for over a month.  

VIDEO: Israeli Forces Fire Tear Gas and Stun Grenades at Children in Hebron

This morning, in al-Khalil (Hebron), the International Solidarity Movement (ISM) reports that several children threw stones towards Checkpoint 29 on their way to school.

At approximately 07:40, 13 Israeli soldiers and border police officers entered through the checkpoint and fired four tear gas grenades and four stun grenades at the children.

The incident began at 7:45 and lasted for approximately 30 minutes, which prevented the children from entering their schools, delaying the start of their end of year exams.

The Israeli military regularly intimidates and use weapons against school children in al-Khalil. On the 15th of May the Israeli military threw one stun grenade towards the school children, after one Israeli soldier drew the star of David on a car and wrote: "I want peace."

School children also face detentions and arrests, with some as young as six-years-old.

When the exams finished today, and teachers and school children were on their way home the harassment began again. The Israeli military detained seven teachers for 20 minutes. One of the teachers spoke to an ISMer present: “We are used to this kind of violence and disturbance, the harassment is continuous and often twice a day.”

Young Palestinian Injured by Israeli Fire in Southern Gaza

The Israeli army shot and injured a young Palestinian citizen in the head, this morning, in the neighborhood of al-Farain, to the east of Khan Younis city, southern Gaza Strip.

The victim has been identified as one Saleh al-Fara, age 20, according to media sources.

Al-Fara sustained moderate wounds in the head and was then transferred to the military clinic in the city, medical sources say.

Meanwhile, Israeli military vehicles fired smoke bombs at Palestinian farmlands, burning the wheat crops belonging to a Palestinian citizen, Al Ray further reports.

Civil defense crews rushed to the area, managing to extinguish the fire and preventing the burning of nearby crops.

On November 21, 2012, a ceasefire was called between Israel and the Palestinian resistance, in order to end an 8 day aggression which had killed many and injured hundreds of innocent civilians.

According to Al Ray, the terms of the latest agreement include ending all hostilities between Israelis and Palestinians, and facilitating the freedom of movement and transfer of goods within Gaza.

However, Israel continues to violate these simple agreements by not only keeping crossings under heavy restriction, but with continued gunfire into the Strip, as well, beginning with the very next day following the ceasefire agreement.

Israeli Occupation Navy Kidnaps Two Palestinian Fishermen In Rafah

Soldiers Invaded Farmlands In Khan Younis

Israeli occupation forces navy vessels attacked Palestinian fishing boats in Gaza waters, close to the shore in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, and kidnapped two fishermen.

Eyewitnesses have reported that the navy fired rounds of live ammunition at boats belonging residents Ramez Jom’a and Imad Mansour while fishing within the six allocated nautical miles, and took the two men to an unknown destination.

The Israeli navy frequently attacks Palestinian fishing boats in Palestinian waters, and even while docked at the Gaza shore. The attacks lead to property damage, in addition to dozens of casualties and arrests.

Late Monday, two fishermen were shot and injured after Israeli navy boats opened fire at Palestinian fishing boats near the Rafah shore, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

In related news, a number of military vehicles invaded Palestinian farmlands, east of the al-Qarara town, north of Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Eyewitnesses have reported that the army advanced more than 200 meters into Palestinian lands, and opened fire at a number of nearby homes; damage was reported, no injuries.

There are some 4,000 fishermen in Gaza and, according to a 2011 report by the International Committee of the Red Cross, 90 percent of them are impoverished -- a 40 percent increase from 2008, due to Israeli-imposed limits on the industry.

As part of the ceasefire agreement of November 2012, Israel agreed to allow the Palestinians to fish within six nautical miles, but unilaterally decreased the allotted area to three miles.

Last May, Israel decided to allow the fishermen to fish within six nautical miles, but the Israeli navy continued to attack them, even within the three nautical miles.

Under the Oslo accords of the mid-nineties, Palestinians are supposed to be allowed to fish within 20 nautical miles off the Gaza shore, but Tel Aviv has constantly violated the agreement.

Illegal Israeli arrests in West Bank and Gaza

RAFAH, (PIC)--

Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) illegally arrested five Palestinians, including ex-detainees, from Gaza Strip and West Bank, and confiscated two fishing boats.

IOF soldiers stormed at dawn Wednesday Silat Harthiya town west of Jenin, where they carried out raid and arrest campaigns.

More than 15 military vehicles stormed the town at dawn and broke into Palestinian houses, arresting three liberated detainees, local sources told PIC reporter.

Head of the Palestinian fishermen syndicate Nizar Ayyash confirmed to PIC reporter that Israeli Navy Forces opened fire at Palestinian fishing boats Tuesday night at sea off the coast of Rafah to the south of Gaza Strip.

Two fishermen were arrested during the attack after the confiscation of their fishing boats, the sources added.

Two fishermen were released on Wednesday after being arrested on Sunday by Israeli Navy Forces.

A least one hundred fishermen were arrested or injured by Israeli Navy since the truce agreement was signed in November 2012.

Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces arrested on Tuesday evening two Palestinian young men, from Deir Nidham town, west of Ramallah.

Israeli soldiers arrested the two brothers in order to pressure their father to deliver his 14-year-old son Jaber to them.

In the same context, Israeli forces arrested on Tuesday three minors after being summoned to Ofer military camp in southern Ramallah.

The three minors, including two students, were summoned by Israeli intelligence. They were investigated for several hours before being arrested and transferred to Ofer prison.

Israeli forces stormed the three minors' homes in Ramallah and handed their parents the summonses, threatening to arrest them.

On the other hand, IOF soldiers stormed Yatta town, south of al-Khalil, and searched a number of homes accompanied by police dogs.

The soldiers intensified their presence in the town and erected several checkpoints.

Along the same line, six Palestinians from al-Khalil were summoned on Wednesday, including the female ex-detainee Ehsan Dbabash after breaking into their homes.

Ehsan has spent 20 months in Israeli jails, where she was subjected to ill-treatment and harassment.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Israeli soldiers stormed Nablus city last night and conducted military training, local sources revealed.

As a result, violent clashes erupted between the invading forces and Palestinian youths who threw stones and burned tires in the city's streets.

Israeli forces broke into a number of homes and served summonses to several young men.

Qalqiliya football team's coach was also arrested by Israeli forces after raiding his home in Nablus.

Members of Qalqilya football team were earlier arrested after their participation in an international football competition.
