Two Israeli policemen stabbed near al-Aqsa Mosque

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--  

Two Israeli policemen have been injured at dawn Friday after being stabbed at al-Asbat Gate of Jerusalem's Old city near al-Aqsa Mosque.

A suspected man stabbed this morning two Israeli policemen before fleeing the scene causing them minor injuries, Israeli police said.

Searches and combing operations have been carried out at and near the attack scene looking for the suspect while an investigation was opened into the attack circumstances, the police added.

A state of tension has spread in the area as al-Asbat Gate was blocked before worshipers’ access to al-Aqsa Mosque and checkpoints were deployed to locate the suspect.

Israeli Police Shoot 5-year-old Boy In The Face

Israeli occupation forces in occupied East Jerusalem shot 5-year-old Muhammad Jamal Ubeid in the face with a rubber-coated steel bullet, Wednesday afternoon, as he was exiting a school bus on his way home.

"An Israeli soldier fired a black rubber-coated bullet at the child from a close distance, injuring him under the eye," the boy's uncle told Ma'an News Agency.

The incident is said to have taken place in the East Jerusalem village of al-Issawiya, where Muhammad's family lives.

The uncle stated that Muhammad and his 14-year-old sister had just stepped out of a school bus and were walking home when Israeli forces shot him. He also said that there had been no confrontations at all, in the area, at the time of the shooting.

Muhammad was evacuated to Hadassah Medical Center, on Mount Scopus, where medical sources said the boy suffered a fracture in the bone just below his eye. He was later transferred to Hadassah Medical Center in West Jerusalem, for treatment.

An Israeli occupation government police spokesman did not return a request for comment, according to Ma'an.

East Jerusalem neighborhoods like al-Issawiya, in recent months, have seen the escalation of heavy police presence and widespread protests amid increasing outrage over Israeli occupation violations and discrimination.

Palestinians in East Jerusalem have residency status but no citizenship since Israel occupied the city in 1967, despite the fact that the vast majority are born and raised in the city and trace their heritage back into the generations.

Israel captured East Jerusalem from Jordan in 1967 and later annexed it, in a move never recognized by the international community. It is officially recognized as Palestinian territory, though Israeli violation continue unabated by powers that could intervene.

IOA opens underground Jewish tourist shrine west of Aqsa Mosque

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) recently opened undergrounds halls and a Jewish tourist center underneath al-Mathara Gate area, west of the Aqsa Mosque, the Aqsa foundation for endowment and heritage stated in a report on Wednesday.

The Aqsa foundation explained that during the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah, the IOA opened a Jewish tourist attraction, including vaulted halls and a museum, below al-Mathara Gate area, about 20 meters away from the western wall of the Aqsa Mosque and initially started to allow a limited number of people to visit it.

The foundation said the construction of this Judaization project continued for more than 10 years and it is part of an Israeli plan aimed at twisting the historical identity of the holy city and spread false Talmudic stories and lies about the alleged temple mount.

The IOA has been for many years carrying out excavations and underground construction projects and tunnels in order to fabricate Jewish landmarks and obliterate the Islamic and Arab character of the holy city as a prelude to executing the bigger plan of building the alleged temple on the ruins of the Aqsa Mosque.

Three Jerusalemite children arrested

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

Three Jerusalemite children were nabbed at dawn Friday and transferred to Israeli detention centers in occupied Jerusalem.

Local sources confirmed that large numbers of Israeli soldiers violently stormed Mussa Owda’s home in Silwan town to the south of al-Aqsa Mosque and arrested his 15-year-old son Muslim.

Muslim has been previously detained for 18 times by Israeli forces, while two other children were nabbed in Ras Amoud neighborhood.

Every year, there are about 500-700 Palestinian children held captive in Israeli prisons, many as young as 12. The most frequent charge is stone throwing.

In contrast to their Israeli counterparts, Palestinian kids do not have a right to be accompanied by their parents during questioning. During their detention, Palestinian children are being subjected to torture and sleep deprivation.

Sheikh Salah: Israel's measures against Islamic Movement will fail

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

Head of the Islamic Movement inside the Green Line Sheikh Raed Salah said Thursday that Israel’s measures against his Movement will fail to weaken it.

Sheikh Salah’s statements came shortly after Israeli authorities banned his entry to occupied Jerusalem and his travel abroad for six months for the fourth time in a row.

Israel has carried out an emergency provisions campaign against the Islamic Movement’s leaders and members aiming to strict their access to al-Aqsa Mosque and occupied Jerusalem and their travel abroad, Sheikh Salah wrote on his Facebook.

“I have been banned from entering al-Aqsa Mosque and occupied Jerusalem and from leaving the country for half a year.”

This is the fourth consecutive Israeli order to prevent Sheikh Salah’s access to the occupied city as he has been banned since September 2013 from entering the city.

Sheikh Salah is one of the Palestinian Islamic and national icons within the Green Line who is well known by his regular confrontation to Israeli settlement activity and Judaizations schemes in al-Aqsa Mosque.

Palestinian child dies of wounds inflicted in Israeli offensive on Gaza

GAZA, (PIC)--

A Palestinian child on Thursday evening succumbed to wounds sustained during Israel's latest offensive on the besieged Gaza Strip, bringing the total number of casualties to 2164.

Palestinian medics said the 15-year-old minor Ihab Mohamed Sahwil breathed his last on Thursday evening at an Israeli hospital in Occupied Jerusalem.

The minor Sahwil died of the critical injuries he sustained in an Israeli raid on his family home in Beit Hanoun, north of the Gaza Strip.

Ihab’s brother was also killed in the attack that targeted the Sahwil’s family home.

Over 2100 Palestinian citizens, mostly women and children, were mass-murdered in the notorious Israeli 51-day offensive on Gaza while some 11,000 have been left wounded. 

Israeli Occupation Army Kidnaps 14 Palestinians In Azzoun

Three Children Kidnapped In Jerusalem

Israeli occupation soldiers surrounded the town of Azzoun, east of the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia, and invaded it before kidnapping around 14 Palestinians. The army alleged a settler and his daughter were injured near the village.

Israeli sources said a settler, and his 11-year-old daughter, were injured when a Molotov cocktail was hurled at their car, east of Qalqilia, adding that child suffered a serious injury due to facial burns, and burns to her torso.

The sources added that all kidnapped Palestinians have been moved to a number of interrogation centers, "to determine if they are involved in the attack."

The kidnapped Palestinians have been identified as Fahmi Na’el Tabib, ‘Ala Sami Shallo, Emad Mohammad ‘Alami, Mohammad Abdul-Rahman Badwan, Ekrema Mohammad Dahbour, Yousef Zahran Sweidan, Moath Bilal Sweidan, Morad Saqer Salim, Walid Mousa Lebda, Mo’awiya Abdul-Latif Radwan, ‘Omar Amjad Shbeita, Amir Radwan and Ashraf Ahmad Radwan.

In related news, two Israeli “Border Guard” officers were injured after being stabbed near the Lions’ Gate, in occupied Jerusalem.

Israel Ynetnews said one of the officers, 19, was stabbed in his neck, while the other, 35, was stabbed in his hands. They suffered mild injuries and were moved to the Shaare Zedek Medical Center.

Earlier on Friday at dawn, Israeli soldiers kidnapped three Palestinian children in occupied Jerusalem, and took them to an interrogation center in the city.

Local sources said the soldiers invaded the home of Mousa Odah in the al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and kidnapped his child, Musallam, 15 years of age. This is the eighteenth time the soldiers kidnap Musallam.

The soldiers also kidnapped two children in Ras al-’Amoud in Silwan; one of them has been identified as Mohammad Nasser, 12.

At Least 12 Palestinians Kidnapped in West Bank and Jerusalem

At least 12 Palestinians were kidnapped by Israeli forces on Christmas Day, during predawn raids in the occupied West Bank districts of Nablus and Hebron, and in occupied East Jerusalem, according to reports by local and security sources.

WAFA Palestinian News & Info Agency reports that Israeli army forces broke into the city of Nablus, in the northern West Bank, where they arrested six local residents identified as: Murad Makhlouf, 25, Mohammad Meshal, 25, Muammar Jamous, Mohammad Kaddumi, Abdullah Sheberi and Amjad Abu Rabee.

Israeli soldiers also stormed the nearby village of Kafr Qalil, where they took Alaa Mansour, who is said to be a warrant officer with the Palestinian police.

Forces also raided the city of Hebron, in a search campaign to arrest Salaheddine Qawasmi, age 22.

Soldiers stationed at the entrance of the nearby town of Beit Ummar reportedly assaulted a local resident with a stun baton before taking him. He was identified as Mohammad Maharmeh, age 23.

Meanwhile, Israeli police broke into the neighborhoods of Issawiya and Sur Baher, in occupied East Jerusalem and abducted three Palestinians. Two were identified as Hassan Jamjoum and Ali Darwish.

Army forces additionally stormed the village of Araqa, to the west of Jenin, where they raided a house and interrogated residents.

WAFA further reports that most of these daily arrests are carried out during the night and before dawn, spreading panic among civilians, especially children. The Israeli military, nevertheless, claims that night raids, unlike day raids, are to minimize contact with angry local residents and the outbreak of clashes.

Israeli Soldiers Rob Family of 70,000 Shekels in Nablus Raid

Ahrar Center for Prisoner Studies and Human Rights said that Israeli forces seized about 70,000 shekels after breaking into home of 52-year-old Ahmed Shubeiri, in Qarboun village, near occupied Nablus.

According to the PNN, Ahmed is father of Ali Shubeiri, who has been imprisoned for over a year now.

The family told Ahrar that soldiers brutally broke into and raided their house after midnight, claiming that they were searching for arms.

University student Abdullah Shubeiri, age 20, was abducted and taken to an unknown destination.

The family said that the soldiers took from them 7,000 Jordanian dinar and 25,000 Israeli shekels, amounting to some 70,000 shekels total.

Ahrar's director, Fuad Al-Khuffash, condemned the action, saying that it was actually theft and not the first incident of of its kind among Israeli soldiers.

Jordan Valley: Israel Demolishes EU-funded Irrigation Pools

Israeli forces demolished six EU-funded irrigation pools used by Palestinian farmers in the northern Jordan Valley, on Thursday, locals told Ma'an News Agency.

Israeli military vehicles accompanied by bulldozers arrived in al-Jiftlik, where they demolished the pools used by Palestinian farmers, under pretext of "military order".

The construction of the pools was reportedly funded by grants from European donor countries.

The Jordan Valley makes up around 30 percent of the occupied West Bank, with over 90 percent of the area designated as Area C and off-limits to Palestinian construction.

380 New Illegal Housing Units to be Built in East Jerusalem

The Israeli West Jerusalem municipality has approved a tender to build 380 new illegal settlement units in occupied East Jerusalem, according to media sources.

Jerusalem city councilor Yosef Pepe Alalu of the Meretz party told AFP that the municipality’s committee approved the building of 307 new housing units in the illegal settlement of Ramot, and 73 others in Jabal Abu Ghnaim (Har Homa).

Israel has been approving the building of new housing units in settlements located in the occupied Palestinian territories, including in East Jerusalem, despite international condemnations, WAFA Palestinian News & Info Agency reports:

On October 27, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave orders for the construction of 1060 new housing units in two settlements in East Jerusalem; 660 new units in ‘Ramot Shlomo’, and 400 in ‘Har Homa’, in addition to an infrastructure project of opening 12 new settlement roads in the West Bank.

Media reported on UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon criticizing Netanyahu’s settlement construction decision, challenging him ‘to show leadership and make compromises for peace.’

6500 Palestinians, Including 200 Children, Currently Held By Israel

Abdul-Nasser Ferwana, head of the Palestinian Detainees Committee, and a member of its follow-up committee in the Gaza Strip, stated that the ongoing arbitrary kidnappings, carried out by the Israeli army, especially since the second half of this year, have led to increasing the number of Palestinian detainees to more than 6500.

Ferwana said the arrests are largely carried out as “acts of revenge” and retaliation against a civilian population, and that most of the kidnapped Palestinians have nothing to do with acts “that could endanger the security of Israel.”

He added that hundreds of Palestinians have been kidnapped and released shortly afterwards, without even being sent to court or facing any charges.

The army kidnapped more than 4000 Palestinians since June 12, when three settlers went missing and were later found killed, while most of them were released later on.

“Latest statistics indicate that the current number of detainees is 6500, held in 18 prisons, detention camps and interrogation centers,” Ferwana said, “200 of them are children. 21 are women, and nearly 500 are held under administrative detention, without charges or trial.”

Israel is still holding captive the elected head of the Palestinian Legislative Council, Dr. Aziz Dweik, along with the Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) Ahmad Saadat, member of the Executive Committee of the Fateh Movement Marwan Barghouthi, and several former government ministers, and officials.

There are 31 detainees who have been imprisoned since more than 20 years; 30 of them were taken prisoner before the establishment of the Palestinian Authority on May 4 1994, and sixteen of them have been imprisoned since more than 25 years, including one imprisoned since 32 years.

The former political prisoner added that 478 detainees are serving at least a life term each, including detainee Abdullah Barghouthi, who has been sentenced 67 life terms and additional 250 years.

Ferwana also said the number of ailing detainees is dangerously increasing, especially due to the lack of adequate and specialized medical attention, and even basic treatment, adding that the number of ailing detainees is more than 1500.

The ailing detainees suffer from different conditions, some very serious conditions that require surgery and advanced medical attention. Many detainees lost the ability to walk, while several detainees are amputees.

In addition, Ferwana said every Palestinian detainee suffered from at least one form of torture or violence, physical and emotional, in addition to degrading treatment targeting them and their families, and bad living conditions that violate the basic principles of human rights, all related international agreements and conventions.

He called on the international community, all related human rights and legal groups, to perform their duties and pressure Israel into abiding by all agreements, and human rights treaties.
