The Israeli Siege of Gaza Is a Continuation of the Brutal Zionist Occupation

Al-Khudari:

The Israeli withdrawal from Gaza is not complete yet

[ 17/09/2012 - 10:18 AM ]

GAZA,(PIC)--

MP Jamal Al-Khudari, the head of the popular committee against the siege confirmed that the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip seven years ago was not completed due to the Israeli siege and ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip.

“Israel” is still imposing complete control over the commercial crossings, depriving Gaza from the most important construction materials needed for both the commercial and private sectors, Al-Khudari explained.

He stressed that the occupation still imposes restrictions on Palestinian fishermen, and prevents solidarity ships from reaching the Gazan port as the recent Israeli attack on the Turkish ship, the “Mavi Marmara”, which killed and injured dozens of activists.

He noted that "Israel" has destroyed the Gazan International Airport, and prevents any building operations and restoration projects in it.

All these Israeli restrictions confirm the continuation of the siege and aggression, which require real international pressures to end the siege, to open the Gazan commercial crossings, to establish a safe passage between West Bank and Gaza, and to open the Gazan international Airport, Al-Khudari stressed.

Egyptian medical delegation:

Suffering in Gaza much deeper than media coverage

[ 16/09/2012 - 06:58 PM ]

GAZA,(PIC)--

The Egyptian medical delegation, which visited Gaza for four days, confirmed that the people's suffering in Gaza strip is much deeper and harder than media coverage.

What we have seen in Gaza, the suffering of people due to the imposed siege, is much greater than what is covered by media, the Secretary-General of the Humanitarian Relief Committee, Dr. Khaled Abdul-Aziz said, calling on the international health institutions to check directly the difficult humanitarian condition in Gaza.

He said that the delegation's visit to Gaza succeeded to provide a part of the needed drugs, which contribute to alleviate the suffering of patients, thanking the Ministry of Health and the Palestinian government in Gaza for the warm reception.

During their visit to Gaza, the delegation members met with the Prime Minister, Ismail Haniyeh, and officials in the Health Ministry where they visited many of the hospitals and medical stores.

The delegation left on Saturday morning the Gaza Strip on its way to Cairo after a four-day visit to check the health situation in the Gaza Strip, where they provided up to ten million pounds worth of emergency medical assistance.
