IOF troops fire at, wound a Palestinian man who attacked an occupation soldier

NABLUS, (PIC)--

A Palestinian young man from the Balata refugee camp near the northern West Bank city of Nablus was wounded by the IOF on Friday morning near a Jewish settlement in the Jordan Valley.

Israeli radio said that IOF soldiers fired at the young man after he threw a stone at an IOF soldier causing the soldier a head injury.

The incident took place at a bus station near the agricultural village of Toumeer in the Jordan Valley and the wounded Palestinian man was kidnapped by the IOF.

Local sources said that the man is Sulaiman Isa, 34 years, from the Balata refugee camp and that he sustained several bullet wounds to his feet and described his condition as serious.

The sources added that a large number of IOF troops rushed to the scene and declared the area a closed military zone.

Five occupation airstrikes against targets in Gaza, a young man wounded

GAZA, (PIC)--

 Israeli occupation aircraft carried out five airstrikes on Thursday afternoon against different targets around the Gaza Strip wounding three people.

Local sources told PIC correspondent that occupation aircraft bombed al-Safina neighbourhood in Gaza and a hall belonging to a sports club.

A third airstrike targeted training grounds used by the Qassam Brigades on lands where Nitsarim settlement used to stand.

A fourth airstrike targeted the Rayes mount east of Gaza city and the fifth was against Beit Hanoun.

Palestinian medical sources said that a Palestinian young man was wounded as a result of the airstrikes.

“A young man in his twenties was hit by shrapnel in the face,” Adham Abu Selmeya, spokesman for the emergency services in Gaza told PIC, describing the victim’s injuries as light.

Two civilians wounded in new Israeli air raids on Gaza

GAZA, (PIC)--

Two Palestinian civilians have been wounded Thursday morning during Israeli aerial attacks north of the Gaza Strip.

For its part, Salahuddin Brigades, the armed wing of the popular resistance committees, said one of its fighters miraculously survived an air raid.

Local sources told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that Israeli warplanes launched two raids this morning on a group of civilians east of Beit Lahia district, north of Gaza, which led to the injury of one citizen.

Another civilian was transferred to hospital after a similar raid on an area near Al-Khazndar station in Beit Lahia.

Salahuddin Brigades claimed responsibility for firing three homemade rockets on Karmiya settlement, south of Ashkelon city and one mortar shell on the Israeli military post Abu Safiya.

The firing of rockets and mortar shells at Israeli settlements and military posts near Gaza comes in retaliation to Israel's military escalation against the Strip.

Israeli Air Force Strikes Gaza

Following the continuation of escalating tension in the Gaza Strip and the south of Israel, the Israeli Air Force has carried out bombings into Gaza City, on Thursday.

Reports state that the airstrike targeted a building that the Israeli military believe to be a weapons storage facility for Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

One man was injured in the strike and was taken to hospital as a result of wounds inflicted by shrapnel.

The Israeli military stated that their ongoing attacks come in response to the rocket fire coming from Gaza, on Thursday, that landed in several regions including Beer Sheva and Ashdod.

Israel Launches Further Attacks On Gaza

Palestinian news sources report two waves of air-strikes in the Gaza Strip. The first took place last night, and the second this morning.

A total of one person was injured during the second strike. At approximately 2am on Thursday, the Israeli Air Force attacked several areas in the Gaza Strip. They allegedly targeted a tunnel, a site connected to Hamas's armed wing – the al-Qassem brigades and a power station. The latter attack caused blackouts in Gaza City.

No injuries were reported from this attack, although it is said to have caused panic in large portions of the Gaza Strip. The Israeli government stated that the attack was in response to a recent series of rockets fired from the Strip into southern Israel.

A second attack on a group of men by a gas-station, near Jabaliya refugee camp, caused one injury and took place at approximately 8.30 am. Israel claims that the group of men were 'terrorists preparing to launch rockets at Israeli territory', although no evidence has yet been provided to substantiate this claim.

Hamas has vowed to 'restore calm' to the area and recently offered Israel a truce, although it's not known whether this offer still stands following Israel's killing of several Gazan civilians, including 2 children. The recent escalation in fighting follows a lethal attack by Israel on two Hamas militants on 16th March, which the group responded to by firing 50 mortars into southern Israel.

Israeli airstrikes across Gaza

Israeli warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes on targets in Gaza City late Thursday injuring one person, witnesses and medical personnel said.

Drones fired four missiles at the Palestinian Authority intelligence headquarters and an Al-Qassam Brigades site.

Warplanes carried out raids on an agricultural area east of Beit Hanoun and four artillery shells were fired around the Karni crossing.

One young man was injured by shrapnel, medical sources said. He was taken to Ash-Shifa Hospital for treatment of light wounds.

Before Flying To Moscow, Netanyahu Approves Further Strikes In Gaza

Israeli sources reported Wednesday that Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, approved a series of strikes in the Gaza Strip before he headed to Russia.

The decision came during a meeting he held at the Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, with Defense Minister, Ehud Barak, Deputy Defense Minister, Matan Vilnai, Army Chief of Staff, Benny Gantz, and Shin Bet chief Yuval Diskin.

The meeting focused on evaluating the current situation following the recent escalation in the Gaza Strip and the Wednesday bombing in Jerusalem.

Meanwhile, Egypt issued a statement warning Israel not to rush into a military offensives targeting the Gaza Strip.

Official spokesperson of the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Mina Bakhoum, stated that Foreign Minister, Nabil Al Arabi, demanded Israel to show self-restraint and to refrain from rushing into a military offensive against the Gaza Strip.

Al Arabi stated that such an offensive will only lead to further tension and escalation.

He added that escalation will not serve the interests of the Palestinians and the Israelis, and will not help the efforts to achieve peace and stability.

He concluded by stating that nobody should give Israel the chance to practice violence, and that Egypt’s steady policy is rejecting and denouncing any attacks against civilians.

Palestinian Retaliation: Resistance Fires Shells At Ashkelon

The National Resistance brigades, the armed wing of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), and the Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, claimed joint responsibility for firing two Grad missiles into Ashkelon on Friday at dawn. The attacks came after the army carried out a series of air strikes.

In their statement, the two groups said that the firing of the missiles came in retaliation to the escalating Israeli attacks against the Palestinian people, and vowed further attacks.

They added that resistance is the only means for achieving the national Palestinian rights.

On Thursday evening, the Israeli Air Force carried out several air strikes targeting Gaza City. A young man, in his twenties, was mildly wounded, and was moved to Al-Shifa Medical Center in Gaza.

Furthermore, Israeli drones fired missiles at a building used by the Intelligence services in Gaza, and also fired four missiles at a base used by fighters of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas.

Several artillery shells were fired by the Israeli army into areas near the Al-Mintar Commercial Crossing, east of Gaza City.

Furthermore, the army bombarded an area in Jabal Al-Rayyes, east of Gaza city, and also bombarded an area in Beit Hanoun, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
