USTR Decides $6.64 Billion Israel Complaint, AIPAC Espionage Appeal IRmep, July 18, 2011
Today (July 8, 2011) US Trade Ambassador Ron Kirk decides whether to
allow an investigation into Israel's theft and use of classified US
industry data stolen in 1984. On May 25, the Section 301 Committee
of the US Trade Representative received a petition filed on behalf of
nearly 80 US industries. (Filing summary, date stamped by USTR) Today the Israel Lobby Archive releases a filing obtained from the
District of Columbia Court of Appeals. On March 23, 2011 Steve J.
Rosen notified the Appeals Coordinator's Office that he will appeal the
court order dated October 30, 2009 dismissing claims against AIPAC's
board of directors and the February 23, 2011 summary judgment dismissing
Rosen's 2009 $20 million defamation lawsuit. On July 3, 2011 Antiwar Radio host Scott Horton podcast an interview
with IRmep director Grant F. Smith about his essay, "AIPAC Pushes Hard
for War with Iran...But Doesn't Want the Blame." They discuss Keith
Weissman's breaking of his media silence to (badly) defend AIPAC,
claiming there is no official program for regime change in Iran, how the
US forgoes a necessary waiver when sending aid to Israel -- required for
all foreign countries with clandestine nuclear programs, how AIPAC uses
leverage on domestic US issues (like National Guard base upgrades) to
get their way on foreign policy issues, and the difference between
Rosen/Weissman/Franklin espionage and Bradley Manning/WikiLeaks
whistleblowing. http://dissentradio.com/radio/11_06_16_smith.mp3 Audio File Fair Use Notice This site contains copyrighted material the use of which has not always been specifically authorized by the copyright owner.
