Two Israeli air raids on Gaza wound woman, destroy foundry

GAZA, (PIC)--

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched two air raids on a foundry to the east of Gaza city at dawn Wednesday completely destroying it and wounding a Palestinian woman, local sources said.

The sources told the PIC reporter that Israeli F-16s fired a missile at the foundry in Tufah suburb east of Gaza city damaging it along with nearby houses in addition to a main water pipeline which cut water supplies to the inhabitants in the neighborhood.

Adham Abu Salmiya, the medical services spokesman, said that a Palestinian woman was injured in the raid and taken to Shifa hospital.

The warplanes returned two hours later and targeted the same foundry causing more destruction in the area, the witnesses reported.

The IOF recently escalated aggression on the Gaza Strip including air raids and incursions on its eastern and northern borders.

The Israeli occupation government air force carried out on Wednesday at night an air strike targeting the border area, between the Palestinian territory of Gaza Strip and Egypt, as well as a workshop in Gaza City.

Palestinian medical sources reported that five residents were injured, and one remained missing, likely buried under the rubble, after the Israeli Air Force bombarded a tunnel at the Gaza-Egypt border, in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

The sources said that five residents were moved to Abu Yousef Al Najjar Hospital in Rafah, while a tunnel worker remained missing under the rubble. His fate remains unknown.

The Israeli Air Force fired one missile into the tunnel, allocated for smuggling construction materials into the besieged Gaza strip, destroying it and causing damages to nearby tunnels.

The Israeli Air Force carried out on Wednesday at night an air strike targeting the border area, between Gaza and Egypt, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, and a shed in Gaza City.

Local sources reported that at least two missile were fired into a tunnel in Rafah causing excessive damage to the runnel and nearby areas, and setting the tunnel ablaze. No injuries were reported until the time of this report.

In addition, the Israeli Air Force carried out another air strike, using a high velocity missile, targeting a shed in Al-Shuja'iya neighborhood, east of Gaza City.

The targeted workshop was destroyed, while a number of nearby homes were damaged. The shed belongs to Daghmash family; it was first bombarded several days ago.

The recent escalation by Israel is the latest in a series of attacks carried out by the Israeli occupation army against several areas in the Gaza Strip.

On Wednesday at dawn, the Israeli occupation air force carried out two air strikes targeting a blacksmith workshop in Gaza City, leading to excessive damage and one injury.

Several nearby homes sustained damages; the main waterline in the neighborhood was shattered.

Two hours after the initial attack, the Israeli air force planes struck the same area again causing further damage and destruction.

Five Gazans were injured Thursday and a sixth is reported missing after an Israeli warplane attacked a tunnel at the Egyptian-Palestinian border near Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip.

The attack took place at dawn, local witness said.

The Civil defense reported that five Gaza residents were transferred to the Abu Yousuf Al-Najjar hospital and they are searching for the sixth man.

Israeli planes were reportedly targeting the transfer of cement and building materials into the Gaza Strip.

Israeli navy attacks international boat in Gaza

Israeli naval forces attacked an international third party monitor on Wednesday in Gazan territorial waters.

Civil Peace Service Gaza works as part of a non-violent initiative to monitor human rights abuses in Gaza.

Israeli occupation forces fired at the CPS Gaza monitoring boat, the Oliva, with water cannons on Wednesday at 12.05 p.m local time, a statement by the organization said.

There were four people aboard at the time, two CPS Gaza members, the captain and a journalist.

"We were fewer than two miles away from the Gaza coast when they fired at us. We saw them firing water at some fishing boats so we headed to the area. When we got close, the warships left the fishing boats, and turned on us.

"They attacked us for about ten minutes, following us as we tried to head to shore and eventually lagged when we reached about one mile off the Gaza coast," British human rights worker Ruqaya Al-Samarrai said.

A fishing boat was also fired at and damaged with live rounds.

An Israeli occupation army spokesman said he was unaware of the incident.

The Gazan fishing community is often similarly targeted and the fishing limit is enforced with comparable aggression, with boats shot at or rammed as near as 2 nautical miles to the coast by Israeli gunboats, CBS Gaza added.

A marine blockade imposed by the Israeli occupation government restricts Gazan fisherman from accessing eighty five percent of Gaza's fishing waters as agreed upon under the Oslo agreements.

After Hamas took control of the coastal enclave in 2007, Israel limited fishing access to 3 nautical miles from the coast.

During the Oslo accords negotiators had agreed upon 20 nautical miles of fishing access along Gaza's coastline.

Rights groups have condemned the blockade of Gaza as a form of collective punishment of the 1.6 million residents.

Navy Attacks “Olivia” Boat In Palestinian Waters in Gaza

The Palestinian Society for Fishing and Water Sports reported that the international boat, Olivia, run by human rights activists to monitor Israeli violations against Palestinian fishermen, was located in front of the Gaza Shore after going losing all communications for one hour as the Israeli Navy attacked it.

The navy used water cannons against the boat causing damages to its communication systems, and damaging its engine.

Several international activists were onboard the boat when the attack took place.

The activists accompany Palestinian fishing boats and fishermen, subject to constant violations and attacks by the Israeli Navy as Israel continues to enforce its illegal siege on Gaza, including its illegal Naval blockade. .

Coordinator of the solidarity campaign with the fishermen in the Gaza Strip, Mahfouz el Kabarity, denounced the attack and stated that the Palestinians have the right to fish in Palestinian territorial water.

Al-Kabarity called on the international community to intervene and stop the Israeli violations against the fishermen in Gaza, and to pressure Israel into abiding by all related international humanitarian laws, and the Fourth Geneva Conventions.
