Israeli occupation soldiers arrest European activists at Hamra checkpoint [ 04/01/2011 - 08:16 PM ] NABLUS, (PIC)-- Israeli occupation soldiers intercepted Tuesday five volunteers from a European pro-Palestinian movement when crossing the Hamra military checkpoint en route to the West Bank provinces of Tubas and Jenin. The volunteers were heading to towns in Tubas and Jenin affected by the apartheid wall there to join forces with local organizations in several activities, the movement's spokesperson Serenia Moltono said in a press statement. Israeli soldiers arrested the activists when reaching the checkpoint before confiscating their passports and isolating them. After spending hours in custody, they were transported into the Hamra settlement where they were searched, questioned, and threatened to be arrested on charges of supporting Palestinian anti-Israel organizations. The volunteers said they will file complaints of inhumane treatment through their foreign ministries against Israel. A Palestinian youth was killed in cold-blood at the Hamra road block two days earlier at the hands of those troops.
