Five Palestinians Seriously Wounded in Tunnel Explosion

GAZA, (PIC)--

Five Palestinians were seriously injured when an explosion ripped through the tunnel they were digging on the Egyptian-Palestinian borders in southern Gaza Strip on Sunday night, Palestinian sources said.

They added that the five were carried to southern Gaza hospitals with severe burns, adding that three of them were in very critical conditions.

No reason was yet known for the explosion as the Palestinian police started an investigation into the incident.

Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed or injured over the past few years as a result of working in those tunnels, which are dug to smuggle goods into the besieged coastal enclave, as a result of the savage Israeli-led siege of Gaza Strip.
