3 Palestinians Killed by Israeli Occupation Forces Missiles

September 28, 2010

Israeli airstrike kills three in central Gaza

Tuesday September 28, 2010 03:00 by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC News

According to local eyewitnesses, three young men were killed Monday in an Israeli airstrike on al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

An Israeli military spokesperson claimed that the three men, Ala Abu Zneda, Awni Abdul Hadi, and Muhammad Eid, were members of the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, but no confirmation of this was made by the group.

In addition to the bomb which killed the three young men, another missile was fired by the Israeli air force at a home in al-Bureij refugee camp, but no casualties were reported from that airstrike.

The Israeli occupation forcecs' statement on the attack said the airforce "targeted and identified a number of militants preparing to fire rockets from the central Gaza Strip into Israel", and held Hamas responsible for any attacks against Israel coming from the Gaza Strip.

The air raids and bombings are a nearly daily occurrence in the Gaza Strip, leading psychologists to report that nearly 90% of Gazan children suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, and live in terror that they will be killed by a bomb.

According to medics, the three men killed Monday were taken to the Al-Aqsa hospital in Deir al-Balah, where they were confirmed dead.

Israeli airstrike on central Gaza kills three Palestinians

GAZA, Sept. 27, 2010 (Xinhua) --

Three Palestinians were killed on Monday night after they were targeted by an Israeli air- to-ground missile in central Gaza Strip, medics and witnesses said.

Dr. Adham Abu Selmeya, the chief of military medical services in Hamas government, told Xinhua that three Palestinians were killed by the shrapnel of an Israeli missile which was fired at them in central Gaza Strip.

He also said that the three arrived dead at al-Aqsa Hospital in the city of Deir el-Ballah in central Gaza Strip, adding that the three were targeted east of the central Gaza Strip refugee camp of al-Bureij.

A fourth one was moderately injured, he said. The identity of the four militants still unknown.

Witnesses in the area said that the three victims are members of Saraya al-Quds, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad (Holy War) movement, and they were targeted right after they fired a homemade rocket from the area at Israel.

There has been no immediate response from the Israeli army.

However, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, had earlier this weak warned Gaza militant groups of firing rockets from the coastal enclave at southern Israeli towns and communities.

He said that the Israeli army would respond to every single rocket fired from the Gaza Strip at southern Israel.

Israel had carried out a three week military offensive on the Gaza Strip in late Dec. 2008, to rein on Gaza militant groups and prevent them from firing rockets at Israel. Around 1,440 Palestinians and 11 Israelis were killed.
