Israeli Occupation Soldiers Stop Anti Wall Protest Near Bethlehem

The villagers of Al-Ma’assra, near the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem, conducted on Friday their weekly protest against the illegal Israeli Land-Grab, Apartheid Wall.

Villagers along with international and Israeli supporters marched from the village mosque after the midday prayers and headed towards their lands were Israel is building the wall.

Israeli soldiers and militra police officers stopped the march at the village entrance by creating a human chain. Troops then bushed people back to the village.

The protest ended peacefully after local organizers delivered speeches in both Arabic and English. Al-Ma’assra villagers on Friday marched in solidarity with the Free Gaza ships heading to the Gaza Strip to break the three years long Israeli siege in the costal territory.

One Injured, Four Arrested During The Weekly Bil’in Anti Wall Protest

One man was injured, four other supporters arrested as Israeli occupation soldiers attacked the weekly protest in Bil’in village, central West Bank, against the illegal Israeli Land-Grab, Apartheid Wall.

As is the case for the past five years, Israeli and international supporters joined the villagers after the midday prayers on Friday at the local mosque and marched towards the wall.

As soon as the nonviolent protesters reached the gate of the wall separating villagers from their lands Israeli soldiers stationed their fired tear gas, sound bombs and rubber-coated steel bullets at them.

Mustafa Al-Khateeb, 18 years old, was hit with a tear gas bomb in his back; he was moved to a local clinic for treatment. Many other protesters suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation. Israeli soldiers also arrested four Israeli supporters during the protest.

Bil’in village is the scene of weekly anti wall protests since five years. Despite the nonviolent nature of the protests every Friday, the Israeli army often responds with violence. Last year the army killed Bassem Abu Rahmah, a local activist with a high velocity tear gas bomb.

Nil’in Anti Wall Protest Ends With Clashes

The weekly protest against the illegal Israeli Land-Grab, Apartheid Wall at the village of Nil’in ended this Friday with clashes between local youth and Israeli occupation soldiers.

Villagers along with their international and Israeli supporters gathered at villagers lands near the Israeli built wall that the Israeli military announces a closed military zone every Friday.

After the midday prayers demonstrators marched towards the gate of the wall separating villagers from their land, Israeli troops stationed their used tear gas and sound bombs to suppress the protest. Scores were treated from the effects of tear gas inhalation.

The weekly nonviolent protest ended as clashes erupted between stone throwing youth and soldiers, no injuries were reported.

During the weekly anti wall protests in Nil’in village, started three years ago, the Israeli military has killed five local youth among them Ahmad Mussa, 10 years old.
