31 Iraqis Killed, 150 Injured in East Karbala Explosion, February 5, 2010 Echoing attacks on Shi'i visitors in Iraq, perpetrators are launching attacks on Shi'i Pakistanis to trigger a sectarian civil war again. It seems that the perpetrators want to keep the two countries in a state of civil war and instability Karbala explosion casualties rise to 181 February 5, 2010 - 12:46:35 KARBALA / Aswat al-Iraq: The toll from the explosion that took place in eastern Karbala earlier today has reached 181, a security source said on Friday. “Casualties from the explosion that occurred in Qantarat al-Salam region in eastern Karbala have reached 31 dead and 150 wounded persons,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. Karbala Governor, Amal al-Din al-Herr, had said earlier that at least 27 persons were killed and 56 others were wounded in the explosion that took place in eastern Karbala on Friday. This the second attack of its kind in the region in two days, as an explosive charge went off at 1:00am on Wednesday (Feb. 3) in the same region, killing six and injuring 19. The holy Shiite city of Karbala lies 110 km southwest of the Iraqi capital Baghdad.
