New Round of Direct Talks Opens on September 2, Everlasting Negotiations Between Palestinians and Israelis Resume, Hallelujah!

The US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, announced that a new round of direct negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians would start in Washington, DC, on September 2, 2010.

I wish these negotiations every success, ending in two days, and resulting in the announcement of an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestine and the establishment of the Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The truth is that this is just only a wishful thinking!

This is just another round of a public relations campaign to distract people in America and around the world away from the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Israeli leaders and their occupation forces.

It's just using the same tactic of "negotiations for negotiations sake," which has allowed the Israeli Zionist Apartheid state to continue its occupation of Arab lands and subjugation of the Palestinian people, since the Israeli war of aggression and expansion in 1967.

Since the establishment of Israel and the dispossession of the Palestinian people, Al-Nakba, in 1948, no American president dared to challenge the Zionist Apartheid state except Eisenhower. He forced the Israeli expansionist government to withdraw its occupation forces from the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula and the Palestinian territory of Gaza Strip, in 1957, following the French-British-Israeli war of aggression in 1956.

Ever since, American presidents have become content only to implement the Israeli wishes and policies of giving lip service to peace without ending the Israeli occupation of Palestinian, Lebanese, and Syrian territories.

Following this policy, implemented as public relations for Israel, most of the US presidents tried to launch negotiations between Palestinians and Israelis. However, whenever American and Arab efforts reached serious levels, the Israelis have always torpedoed the negotiations, causing US presidents to back down and keep quiet, under pressure from Zionists.

There was one little exception though by President George W. H. Bush, who dared to deny the Shamir government loan guarantees, in 1992, in order to stop its theft of Palestinian lands, called settlement construction in the Zionist media. However, he couldn't withstand the Zionist pressure for more than few months. He backed down and gave Israelis the money they wanted to build their illegal settlements on stolen Palestinian lands.

Zionists did not trust him to be a president for a second term, anyway. They favored his rival, who lacked any experience in foreign policy whatsoever. Thus, a lesson was taught, to presidential hopefuls and leaders of both parties, that when it comes to foreign policy, they can compete only on who can pledge and show more loyalty to Israel and its interests.

In order to give an impression of stability in the world, particularly in the Israeli-dominated Middle East, Zionists in the US always wanted American administrations to keep the peace process going, negotiations have to be conducted, for ever of course, without an end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian lands.

Without a serious stance from the US to end the Israeli occupation of Arab lands in Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon, there will be no peace in the Middle East and the world.

Israeli Zionist occupiers are happy with the status-quo. They have all the support they need from the US and other NATO countries.

The US has been dragged by Zionists into wars in the Middle East mainly to secure the Israeli hegemony in the region though the Zionist propaganda machine and corrupt politicians have tried relentlessly to scare Americans of unreal threats to them from Arabs and Muslims.

What has the US gotten in return?

A crippling national debt of $13.2 trillion, spent on militarization, wars, and occupation of nations, which never threatened the US or its interests.

An economic downturn and a financial crisis since 2008, as a result of the unprecedented national debt and continuous deficits, due to the unprecedented military spending.

Enmity and hostility of most nations for wars, devastations, and support for the brutal Zionist Apartheid regime, dictators, and corrupt ruling families.

It's time for America to wake up and sever relations with the evil Israeli Apartheid regime!

There is no need for more fake negotiations.

The Zionist, Apartheid Israeli state has to withdraw its occupation forces from Arab lands, allow Palestinians to establish their state on the 1967 borders, then negotiations can start over the final status issues.

There are stockpiles of UN, US, Arab, and international documents, initiatives, resolutions, and plans calling on Israelis to withdraw from Arab territories and giving Palestinians their inalienable rights. There is no need for more negotiations to do that, after decades of negotiations.

Until the Israeli military occupation of Palestine ends, any negotiations will be just another round of fake meetings and photo opportunities for corrupt politicians on all sides and a fake public relations event.

The Emperor is absolutely naked. No new round of negotiations can distract people around the world from seeing him so.

Clinton: “Direct Talks September 2nd”

U.S. Secretary of State, Hilary Clinton, stated, Friday evening, that direct talks between the Israeli occupation government and the Palestinian Authority will be launched on September 2nd.

Clinton said that Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, will be heading to Washington to formally launch direct peace talks. President Abbas will arrive in the U.S on September 1st to hold a meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama. Egyptian President, Hosni Mubarak, and King Abdullah of Jordan will also participate in the meeting.

Clinton stated that the goal behind launching direct talks is to hold negotiations on all core issues and that the White House hopes that a peace deal will be reached after a year of direct talks.

The U.S secretary of state further said that the negotiations will start without any preconditions, and that Quartet (United States, United Nations, European Union and Russia) envoy to Middle East peace process, Tony Blaire, will join the talks.

During a joint press conference with Clinton, U.S. Middle East Envoy, George Mitchell, said that the location where direct talks will be held is still unknown but also stated that most of the talks will be held in the Middle East.

Mitchell added that all core issues will be discussed and that the parties involved in the talks will determine the priorities.

The Quartet Committee will issue a detailed statement regarding the upcoming talks.

Meanwhile, Israel welcomed that U.S. call for resuming direct talks with the Palestinians, while Prime Minister Netanyahu stated that he is pleased with the decision to start talks without preconditions.

Netanyahu said that Israel will head to the talks with a “real motive for peace”, but added that this peace must protect Israel’s national security.

Israel still opposes full withdrawal from all territories illegally captured in 1967, including occupied East Jerusalem, and refuses to recognize the internationally guaranteed right of return of the Palestinian refugees.

Barghouthi warns against direct talks without a settlement halt

RAMALLAH, (PIC)--

The Secretary General of the Palestinian National Initiative Dr. Mustafa Al-Barghouthi says the decision to move to face-to-face negotiations without a settlement halt and without pinpointing a prerequisite framework “will lead to greater and more serious failure” than the 2000 negotiations at Camp David between Yasser Arafat and Ehud Barak hosted by US president Bill Clinton.

De facto Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas had previously stuck to three conditions for picking up talks, but gave in after he received heavy pressure from western negotiators, a decision which was subjected to harsh criticism.

The US Secretary of State has announced that talks between Israel and the Palestinians will start Sept. 2 in Washington.

Barghouthi said in a news briefing Saturday that the invitation by the international negotiation Quartet - the US, the UN, the EU, and Russia - to resume direct talks between Tel Aviv and Ramallah has left the framework for talks a complete mystery and has not ensured an end to settlement activity before talks.

“Talk about negotiations without preconditions, and without compliance with international law means accepting Israel’s condition without specifying clear mechanisms for negotiation,” he said.

The Palestinian Legislative Council noted that Israel’s PM Netanyahu, who refuses to stop settlement activity in Jerusalem and other occupied territories, “will seek to use negotiations as a cover-up for the extended settlement policies, noting that an unclear framework for negotiations will make it easy for Netanyahu to play with negotiations and buy time.

The Jordanian democratic popular unity party called on the Palestinian Authority to recant its decision for direct talks and to join forces with the Palestinian resistance to create a new national strategy to tackle the dangers surrounding Palestine.

The party argued that negotiations came after the PA backed down on the preconditions it set to determine a framework before going into direct talks, after indirect negotiations, and after seventeen years of meaningless talks.

Resuming direct conditions in light of the continued Palestinian division and the imbalance in forces is in Israel’s favor, the party continued, adding that the Palestinians will not be able to offer anything against the enemy’s requests for more concessions.

According to high-level Israeli political sources, the decision to extend the settlement freeze in the West Bank will not be a matter for discussion.

Hebrew radio said that Israel’s unwillingness to suspend settlement activity was in response to a PLO official who announced his consent to resume direct talks provided settlement activity is shut down in the West Bank.

The Israeli “Haaretz” newspaper has called Fatah accepting talks without preconditions a “political victory” for Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu.

After a year and a half political deadlock, Netanyahu can mark his first political achievement, albeit modest, the newspaper wrote.

The great achievement of Netanyahu in recent months is that he succeeded in changing the course of American pressure. After more than a year of pressuring Israel, US President Barack Obama began actively applying pressure on PA chief Mahmoud Abbas to enter into direct talks, the paper explained.
