IN THE first three sections of this column on the same issue, namely tracing the roots of unstoppable violence in the region, I exhibited that attempts to link extremism and terrorism to Islam as a religion is proved a failure, simply for the reason that any considerations be taken against the religion should be derived from official sources, which are represented in the holy book (Holy Quran) and the Prophetic narrations (Hadith).

A verse from the holy book was presented to prove that peace is the prevailing state of affairs among all Muslims and others, while war is the incidental emergency situation and permitted for self-defence. Once the causes of war disappear, it should come to an end. Also the stance of Muslims towards other non-Muslims is demonstrated, thus it is possible and simple for many non-Muslims to dwell in an Islamic country and socialise peacefully and friendly with its people. It was also demonstrated that terrorism is the spawn of violence, which is a tool of expressing the state of ideological or psychological radicalism, which ever occurs first.

The geographical location of the Middle East region and the time span during which the Zionist ideology emerged were highlighted. The UN's definition of discrimination as given in its charter was introduced, where it was established that Zionism is one form of discrimination as evidenced in a number of resources, whether Western or Jewish, and how the radical political ideology of setting up the state of Israel on religious and racial basis as a priority dominated, even if on the expense of Jewish children and their sufferings.

Here, I will highlight how the Zionist radical chauvinistic racial-prejudiced ideology crept into the minds of the Israeli and was translated in the form of a blood-spattered violence against the Arabs and friendly Europeans and Americans, and even the Jews themselves.

The Zionists ideology does not recognise conservatism or conservatives, simply for the reason that extremism can never get together with moderateness. Even those few who endeavoured to achieve the Zionist dream step by step, collapsed before the tyranny ideology and its followers who accept no other alternative. I quote what Colin Chandler wrote in his Israel, Likud and the Zionist dream on the facts of the 17th Zionist Conference in 1931 where the founder of the revisionism movement, Ze'ev Vladimir Jabotinsky, expressly and openly criticised Chaim Weizman, president of Zionist legion, then: "The call for setting up a Jewish state should be characterised with radicalism," being satirical at Weizman who was adopting the gradual realisation of the Zionist dream.

Jabotinsky further detailed his opinions in his book The Iron Wall (1923), where he said: "It is absolutely impossible to obtain a voluntary consent from the Arabs of Palestine to convert it from an Arab country into that of a Jewish majority." And since the voluntary approach is absent, then the bloody and suppressive method will be the only resort.

At that time Jabotinsky had a profound effect on the youths of Jewish organisations, who by the end of 1930s became leaders of the Zionist organisation aiming at setting up the state of Israel, including Menachem Begin and Yizhak Shamir, who were commanders of the Etzel and Lehi gangs massacring innocent Palestinian civilians and British mandate troops as the Ottoman emperor's estate were divided following World War I. They absorbed the Zionist radicalism then ruminated it as violence that has been and is still taking a toll on one and all.
