On November 29, 1978, the UN General Assembly (UNGA) devoted a session of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The date coincides with the date when the UNGA adopted Resolution 181, on November 29, 1947, that partitioned Palestine into two states, one Arab and another Jewish, with special status for the city of Jerusalem.
The Jewish state was declared on May 14, 1948. Then it expanded on the expense of the Arab state of Palestine, annexing Galilee, most of the Gaza Strip, most of the West Bank, and Jerusalem, as illustrated by comparing the Partition Map with the 1967 occupation map, linked below.
Today, peace loving people all over the world express their solidarity with the Palestinian people against Israeli aggression, dispossession and uprooting of Palestinians from their lands, in violation of UN resolutions.
